    Heroine Regret 128

Why are you acting like this?

Tomoya Aki has made a mistake.

Don’t try to convince someone, just use a chat app.

An exasperated woman stuck on the same spot.

This won’t help at all; it will only make things worse.

“Utaha-senpai, please calm down and take a look.”

After Tomoya Aki let out a breath.

With such strange cases as references, Kasumigaoka Utaha should comply and take her medicine, right?

    “What? News?”

Her chest heaving, the buttons on her blouse about to burst open, Kasumigaoka Utaha barely manages not to throw her phone. She opens it instead.

Just a quick glance, then Kasumigaoka Utaha ignores him, her face darkening as she turns off the device.

“Why? The Ethics-kun doesn’t believe me?”

“Compared to an outsider, a doctor who doesn’t trust my claims?”

“Did I ever have mental issues? My sixth sense is sharp as ever!”

    “Back then……”

While Tomoya Aki’s mind was troubled, a message comes through.

Kasumigaoka Utaha glances at it, taps on Tomoya Aki’s head and the comment with her slender fingers.

    A cruel, slightly trembling swipe.

A large red virtual button appears.

    Delete!

“Ethics-kun, you’re driving me crazy. Go find your Eriri.”

“You were completely loyal to me and trusted me without any conditions. Now, you don’t even care about my safety….”

    “You’ve changed…..”

“Tomoya Aki’s profile picture frame turned gray, while Kasumigaoka Utaha buried her head in her lap, feeling extremely downcast.”

    “Utaha-senpai?”

    “And you won’t come out?”

“Did you finish your chores for the day?”

Tomoya Aki wrote a long message and sent it.

The result was a red exclamation mark!

    “Utaha-senpai, did you delete me?”

    “No… Not really?”

She hesitated, unsure about what she was saying. However, Tomoya Aki wasn’t as shocked or scared as he had imagined.

Because, he thought Kasumigaoka Utaha liked him!

Maybe I should just delete the friend request. What’s the big deal?

If it were someone else, it would be hard to get cold, noble Utaha-senpai to accept your friendship and then have you get deleted and cry endlessly….”

“I hope my sister can come to terms with this. Her grades have dropped.”

“Let her rest for a while and talk about it tomorrow.”

After a moment’s thought, Tomoya Aki pushed his black-framed glasses up his nose.

Leaving the tree, he went to wait for Eriri. On the way, he re-added Kasumigaoka Utaha as a friend, leaving a note:

“Utaha-senpai, I have something urgent to do. Please relax.”

His latest iPhone buzzed with a notification.

Kasumigaoka Utaha’s face is ashen and composed, the once arrogant goddess now exudes an air of melancholy.

She gives off a sense of oppressive gloom.

She wants to stay seated, but soon someone from above comes down, making a sound.

This forces her to grab her backpack and leave.

She aimlessly wanders around Shuchiin Academy, buys a bottle of black coffee she’s never had before, same as Kitagami Yoru’s.

After taking a sip, Kasumigaoka Utaha sharply examines the black coffee in her hand, staring for several seconds before chuckling.

    “Ethics-kun, you’ve really let me down…..”

“You really like Eriri that much….?”

She finishes the drink and tosses the empty container into the trash.

Wiping away a thin layer of sweat from her flawless cheek, she elegantly picks up her backpack and leaves.

    Maybe?

It must be the strong caffeine affecting her; her mood improves slightly.

Exiting Shuchiin Academy’s gates, a cool autumn breeze blows by.

    Her hair flies wildly…

Kasumigaoka Utaha suddenly feels a cold shiver down her back. She smooths her hair and walks toward the station with measured steps.

Along the way, she often looks back, letting her gaze wander over each unfamiliar face of the strangers passing by.

The students in Shuchiin Academy uniforms have become a habit for her; she simply walks past them without notice.

    It’s instinct. A subconscious reaction.

    “The stalker is gone.”

Kasumigaoka Utaha lets out a breath, as each day she fears the moment when she leaves Shuchiin Academy and heads to the station.

At that moment, the scent of baked goods and sweets wafts through the Angel Café.

A mix of doorfront flowers and coffee scent…

Tied down by Kasumigaoka Utaha’s legs, unable to move a step.

    “Good smell…”

Standing by the coffee shop window, Kasumigaoka Utaha turns her head toward the inside of the coffee shop.

    Within view, about fifteen customers.

Except for a few strangers, all are local residents—students from Shuchiin Academy.

Gathered at the counter, buying the latest batch of bread and pastries.

The coffee shop earns money by selling coffee and baked goods…

Mrs. Yuigahama, who owns three coffee shops, has had this store for over ten years.

Steadfast and even more popular now.

The franchise stores replicate the original with guaranteed quality; they won’t fall short.

Kasumigaoka Utaha didn’t intend to drink coffee or eat pastries, but she found a spot to sit and calm her mood.

So she decided to take her bag inside.

Sitting in the corner’s most secluded spot, near the window.

A part-time waiter immediately approached to serve her, politely asking: “Kasumigaoka-senpai, would you like to order something?”

    “One lemon water,” she replied.

She couldn’t refuse, so Kasumigaoka Utaha rested her elbow on her hand, gazing out the window.

Not long after, a glass of lemon water and ice arrived.

Taking it randomly, she drank a sip, and as she did so, Kasumigaoka Utaha caught a glimpse of the menu in her peripheral vision, slightly surprised exclaiming:

    “Kitagami Yoru?”

A boy with a long hairstyle and a rounded head appears in her vision, his face slightly rough to the touch.

    “Is it him? Haha… “

Laughing twice, Kasumigaoka Utaha doesn’t look at the menu.

    Not too early yet.

The coffee shop closes at six.

Basically, after five thirty, there are rarely any customers.

    This time of day.

It’s also the time when the art club activities end.

    “It’s getting late…”

    “And… last one….”

The orange clouds at the edge of the sky seem like a wild horse galloping freely.

Kasumigaoka Utaha drags herself, not willing to leave yet, and returns to the cold, dark house.

“Alright, you two should leave now.”

    “I’ll handle that student.”

Yuigahama Yui waves goodbye to the employees waiting to leave and looks towards Kasumigaoka Utaha in a secluded corner.

    The entire coffee shop.

Except for a woman walking her dog, there are only three customers: an old couple and their grandparent.

Kasumigaoka Utaha arrived early, ordered lemon water, and has been sitting for a while.

From the warmer, Yuigahama Yui brings over a slice of tiramisu.

“Sorry, mind if I bother you?”

In a gentle tone, from the lips of the mature Mrs.,

    Uh-huh…

Kasumigaoka Utaha wakes up, almost sitting up, nodding repeatedly.

    She regains her composure.

Looking at Mrs. Yuigahama, her eyes show a hint of confusion.

“This guest is really beautiful, you know…”

Mrs. Yuigahama subtly praises her, placing a timisusu cake in front of Kasumigaoka Utaha and continuing:

“Aunty noticed you sitting alone for a while—aren’t you feeling down?”

“This dessert is for you. Eating something sweet might cheer you up if you’re feeling sad.”

“No, I don’t need it. Thank you for your kind offer.”

Kasumigaoka Utaha barely manages to lift the corner of her mouth, shaking her head repeatedly.

Looking at Mrs. Yuigahama, she isn’t sure whether to address her as Aunty or sister.

“Oh, no need for that either.”

“Let me guess—maybe you had a fight with your boyfriend?”

Mrs. Yuigahama smiles warmly and sits across from her.

    “Not exactly…”

Pausing for a moment, Kasumigaoka Utaha doesn’t refuse Mrs. Yuigahama’s kindness but also avoids looking at her.

She lowers her head and pretends to play on her phone.

“Maybe I should tell you about my story?”

    Mrs. Yuigahama blinks her eyes.

    “Your story?”

Kasumigaoka Utaha looked up, then stopped her action.

“I got divorced a long time ago.”

Mrs. Yuigahama tilted her head, giggling playfully.

That doesn’t feel right at all!

    “Divorce… shouldn’t that be sad….”

Kasumigaoka Utaha placed her hand on the edge of the sofa conveniently.

    ………

Inside the restroom of the Club Complex Building.

Tomoya Aki quickly tucked that slightly shorter object back into his pants.

    It’s so small…

Hurriedly washing her hands and running out.

    “Eriri is already out, right?”

Anxiously going to the balcony, Tomoya Aki realizes he’s still a step late.

Seeing a large group of art club members, they gather and leave the building, all gone far away.

“Eriri, why didn’t you use that toilet?”

Tomoya Aki grumbles under his breath, quickly running down.

While rushing downstairs, he hasn’t stabilized yet and trips over.

Causing a delay of a few more minutes.

“I’ll go buy a bottle of drink; you guys go first.”

Eriri’s cute face beams with joy.

Waving her hand, she bids farewell to the art club members she’s close with.

He turned around and walked away elsewhere.

In front of the vending machine.

Kitagami Yoru bent down to take two cans of drinks, catching a glimpse of Eriri’s double braid as she approached, and tossed one can aside casually.

Suddenly, something thrown by a demon hit Eriri, scaring her, but she instinctively caught it.

Realizing it was just a can of drink, Eriri puffed up and yelled, “You scared me half to death! What are you doing?”

“Using just one can of drink to buy me? I’ll think you’re trying to poison me!”

    “Get to the point.”

Kitagami Yoru opened the can tab and noticed a shoe print on his shoes.

As he went downstairs, Eriri intentionally stamped down hard on his foot.

With shoes protecting him, it didn’t hurt much.

He even asked her to meet somewhere to talk.

“I’m warning you, don’t try anything with me.”

No matter what he says, Eriri still can’t let this go.

Standing in her corner, there’s no fault in her actions.

It’s understandable that Kitagami Yoru once bullied her and broke into her house—she had every right to be angry.

Just like how some people don’t understand why police wouldn’t clear the magazine or call for backup, even when it’s necessary.

A simple traffic violation stops them, and their nerves are tight enough to snap.

“I told you, not really interested.”

“Stay out of my sight, stay out of your cocky looks and tone when talking to me—I love it when I get to say…”

Kitagami Yoru’s eyes flickered with a dangerous light before he quickly suppressed it.

“You’re nonono, you have to join the Art Club as a model, you idiot.”

“And you’re saying you didn’t try?”

Eriri held evidence of Kitagami Yoru’s guilt in her hand, her posture was pretty straight.

    Speaking with a tough attitude.

“It was Hiratsuka-sensei who asked me to come. I can’t refuse her.”

“And you’re saying it’s the Art Club that approached me?”

As Kitagami Yoru spoke, he easily took the drink Eriri tossed back.

    “You could refuse!”

Eriri made a dismissive face with an annoyed expression.

“How do I refuse Hiratsuka-sensei? How?”

    Kitagami Yoru added calmly:

“So, besides this matter, are there any other reasons you’re seeking me out?”

“Yes, I’m warning you not to play your dirty tricks on me or make up stories to embarrass me.”

“You’re the one who’s just spouting nonsense. You’re the one acting like a dog!”

During club activities, Eriri was fuming with anger!

    “Ridiculous?”

    Damn it!

    She’s driving me crazy!

    “So I didn’t say that.”

Kitagami Yoru noticed a red spot on Eriri’s brow, likely from when she was painting.

    “Damn it!”

“Stupid, you disgusting fat guy, this attitude makes me really unsatisfied!”

Eriri stamped her feet hard on the floor and cursed in annoyance:

    “Didn’t you curse me first?”

“Okay, I promise, I won’t humiliate you, okay?”

Kitagami Yoru shrugged his shoulders, smiled and said to Eriri in front of him:

People who don’t know the situation would think that they are a close couple playing around.

“You…what are you laughing at all?”

    “Huh!”

Seeing Kitagami Yoru smile at her first, Eriri was so slow to react that she frowned and questioned him:

This disgusting guy, what the hell is he laughing at!

I actually thought he was a little handsome just now, go to hell!

“Okay, so as not to ruin the relationship between my mother and your mother.”

Kitagami Yoru looked into the distance, and staggered with Eriri:

    “Wait a minute, I haven’t finished yet.”

Eriri turned around without hesitation, stepped on her white silk legs, and chased after Kitagami Yoru with her dazzling golden ponytails swinging back and forth:

    “Hey, I haven’t finished yet!”

    “Hurry up!”

Kitagami Yoru looked at Eriri with a squinting look.

    “It’s… it’s you…”

    Eriri’s face suddenly turned red.

Next, let her be filled with extra anger and shame.

    “You’d better save my… those…. videos.”

“Regular stuff. Don’t forget, if you post them online….”

“You know the consequences, you idiot!”

Pointing at Kitagami Yoru, Eriri scolds him and looks visibly subdued.

    Heartbroken and unable to speak.

    “I know.”

    Kitagami Yoru turns back properly.

    “And… there’s still….”

Eriri speeds up her response, mentioning that besides being delicious and cute, she has no other good qualities.

    Oh.

    I forgot one word: horse.

“I’m not the kind of brainless female lead you see in those sleazy romantic dramas.”

“After letting you get away with so much, don’t even think about playing your ‘braindead female role’ on me. It won’t work!”

    Eriri continues to say.

    “I never thought like that.”

Kitagami Yoru coldly looks at Eriri.

“Come on, I don’t believe it. A warning for you!”

Eriri points a finger aggressively at Kitagami Yoru.

She’s like an office worker; Kitagami Yoru is a ruthless boss who dares to be deceitful but not bold-faced.

Kitagami Yoru doesn’t respond, keeping his gaze straight ahead.

Eriri gradually quieted down and slowed her footsteps behind.

    “That…Eriri, your eyebrows.”

Finally, Kitagami Yoru had a compulsion to turn around and remind them.

    “Eriri and Kitagami Yoru?!”

Tomoya Aki was notably late in catching up with the two on the last train.

    “What are you talking about?!”
