    Heroine Regret 138

    Edited by: Tiny Fan Fiction

    Won’t you like me?

The short morning time didn’t last long.

    Coming to the midday break.

The current fashion group members are gathered together sharing food.

Kitagami Yoru leaves as usual, carrying yesterday’s convenience store bento from Kasumigaoka Utaha, to have lunch at the secret small pavilion.

    On the way.

Meeting two bold girls who came up to flirt, Kitagami Yoru coldly refuses them with a blank face.

He thought, after being rejected, they might be upset.

Or maybe, they’d get angry out of embarrassment, but instead, Kitagami Yoru hears them say he’s high cold and likes him more.

    “Am I that good-looking?”

“Earlier, I asked Eriri about it, and she called me self-centered, but she said I looked pretty good….”

Downstairs, Kitagami Yoru takes out his phone to take a picture of himself.

    He feels, it’s okay.

As Sakurajima Mai would say, he’s somewhat good-looking and appealing.

Following the usual routine, he buys a black coffee and waits for Kato Megumi to join him at the small pavilion.

    “Hi, Midori.”

“You’re wearing summer uniform, won’t you get cold in the morning?”

    Kitagami Yoru asks casually.

“I brought a jacket; it’s okay to take it off in the middle of the day.”

Kato Megumi maintains her usual expressionless face and looks up after responding.

She then looks back down, asking Kitagami Yoru: “Did you eat lunch?”

“Hmm, didn’t get a chance to make lunch.”

Kitagami Yoru opens the coffee and takes a sip.

Entering the small pavilion and sitting in his usual spot.

Mr. Kitagami, are you free this weekend?

Kato Megumi opened the lunch box with a casual air, then turned to invite Yoru Kitagami.

    “Hmm? What?”

Yoru Kitagami nearly choked on his black coffee at the surprise.

Did he spend the weekend in bed?

Three people in a row are asking him about his weekend plans.

“Is… is there no time this weekend?”

Megumi Kato tensed up instantly, her bright eyes widening slightly.

“Well, I don’t know for sure. It’s a bit tricky.”

“I need to think about it…”

Yoru Kitagami quickly glanced at Megumi Kato’s expression before awkwardly turning away to laugh.

    If…

Megumi Kato made the invitation first, and he was easy enough to arrange time for.

He agreed with Gabriel, but this couldn’t be pushed through.

What if Gabriel ended up inviting some greasy Genshin Impact fat guy who would trick the innocent Gabriel?

    Even force-feeding wasn’t guaranteed.

“For Gabriel’s safety, we can’t push this.”

“As for Chika, maybe afternoon or evening on weekends…”

Yoru Kitagami was pondering, muttering to himself.

Megumi Kato’s mood had grown downcast.

“Back then, Mr. Kitagami would have been happy and just accepted the invitation.”

“Did I make it difficult for him?”

“No time at all this weekend?”

It’s as if he’s forgotten about Kitagami Yoru, who was with some woman just yesterday, right here!

Kato Megumi sees them as a little secret between the two, a place of special significance, my business, mine!

Kato Megumi pouts in dissatisfaction, especially since she’s been “face-palming” for so long.

Pouting like that is enough to show one’s mood.

It’s like a self-deprecating, socially anxious mouse scurrying into the subway car to sit next to an imposing, elegantly dressed urban lady!

“Eiko, maybe I should check things out this weekend?”

Kitagami Yoru doesn’t want to refuse Kato Megumi but is putting it off until later.

There’s no way around it; there’s just no way.

    “So, no time?”

Kato Megumi expresses her dissatisfaction to Kitagami Yoru.

She thinks Kitagami Yoru has no time and doesn’t want him to make her feel sad or disappointed.

    “No, not at all.”

“Maybe I have time this weekend, maybe on Saturday night.”

Kitagami Yoru shakes his head repeatedly, looking serious.

    “Maybe?”

Kato Megumi hears this and calls out once more.

    “I’ll think about it.”

Kitagami Yoru furrows his brow, continuing to plan and arrange things.

    “Friday with Sakurajima-senpai…”

“Saturday with Chika all day, and if something happens in the evening, maybe early Sunday morning I can coax Chika.”

“But if I’m with Chika, then I was also playing it intimate with Eiko yesterday… that wouldn’t work.”

He feels like he’s caught between a rock and a hard place.

Kato Megumi isn’t hungry for lunch, secretly observing Kitagami Yoru’s subtle expressions and listening intently.

He couldn’t make sense of it at all.

Not even a full sentence was understandable.

Seeing Kitagami Yoru’s expression, he thought there was no hope left.

“If it’s difficult, then I guess we can forget about it….”

Kato Megumi held up one hand, hesitatingly looking at Kitagami Yoru as she quietly extended it.

“Megumi, I have plans for the weekend.”

“The timing is not very convenient to arrange….”

Kitagami Yoru apologized with a smile.

He then tried to continue speaking, saying he would contact later depending on the situation.

The next second, Kato Megumi playfully brought her small hand up and lightly tapped him.

It hurt a bit, like getting pricked by a needle in the butt.

She quickly struck it again, but Kato Megumi rarely spoke, so she stopped after a light sigh and withdrew her hand.

That did it; Kitagami Yoru was completely thrown off balance.

    “I’m sorry, Megumi.”

After apologizing, Kitagami Yoru closed his mouth and thought about going elsewhere in his mind.

    Hmm?

    Does Megumi like me?

“Is there a possibility of that?”

Kitagami Yoru used his peripheral vision to sneak a peek.

“I mean, wouldn’t it be the case?”

“Megumi only has me as her friend….”

“I can deeply understand that kind of feeling….”

“In the past, I used to get so disgusted with fat otaku, worrying that Megumi would leave me behind just like she did back then…..”

He was getting a headache from it all, and he looked at Kato Megumi again.

    Is it a girl?

It’s about something that should have been left in the past, but Kato Megumi brings it up again with Kitagami Yoru.

    “Oh?”

Kitagami Yoru couldn’t help but wonder about all sorts of things.

    “Yes.”

“School rumors say you’ve been secretly seeing someone.”

Kato Megumi sipped her miso soup quietly, asking softly.

“It is a girl, but she’s not my girlfriend.”

Kitagami Yoru sighed deeply, leaning back slightly with his hands resting on the table.

    “Hmm?”

His bold response caught Kato Megumi off guard.

“Don’t worry, even if I have a girlfriend one day, I’ll never forget about her.”

Kitagami Yoru turned to look at Kato Megumi and smiled lightly.

    “Kitagami-san, you’re really cunning…”

Kato Megumi’s eyes flickered, her mind growing restless.

    So…

    The question is…

    Who was that girl yesterday?

Are you two in a relationship?

Could it be Ebina Hina or the rumored Aoyama Nanami?

After sitting quietly at the cool booth, Kato Megumi began packing up the lunch box.

    “Weekend things can wait.”

“Don’t trouble Kitagami-san with your arrangements.”

    Said Kato Megumi, smiling.

    “I can see the situation.”

Kitagami Yoru hurriedly sat up and said.

“I don’t need it; I have other arrangements.”

Kato Megumi lightly shook her head.

    “Hui….”

Kitagami Yoru called out Kato Megumi’s name and looked at her.

    ……

    ……

    “All right, next time.”

Finally, Kitagami Yoru chose to give up, watching Kato Megumi and thinking about her again.

    “Hui is quite cute…”

“It’s hard to let go, huh?”

If Kitagami Yoru liked green anime at all, he could perfectly embody the main character of a harem series during the first phase.

and many girls, keeping things ambiguous.

bold yet timid, kind in his heart, resourceful but unable to take the lead in a harem.

    “I’ll go first.”

Kato Megumi packed the lunchbox, smiled at Kitagami Yoru, and left.

    The time is still early.

Kitagami Yoru sighed deeply, watching Kato Megumi leave without trying to stop her.

After finishing the lunchbox, he discarded it and went back.

    “Kitagami-san, are you eating lunch?”

In the Teaching Building, Kitagami Yoru met Ichinose Honami and Tokisaki Kurumi who were returning from the cafeteria together.

    Ichinose Honami greeted him.

Turned her head to look at the two of them, and as she did so, Tokisaki Kurumi nodded slightly.

She bumped into someone while greeting casually, but there was nothing else to it.

Kitagami Yoru returned to the classroom, sitting in his usual spot to rest.

Meanwhile, Tobe Kakeru kept glancing at him from beside him, almost as if he were hiding there.

The group of popular students was again discussing where they should go for the weekend.

There are two classes in the afternoon.

Time seems to be passing by more quickly now.

The school bell rings, and Kitagami Yoru doesn’t rush as he packs his bag, preparing to head to the Art Club.

“See you later, Kitagami-san,” someone called out.

As Ebina Hina passed by, she waved at him with a smile.

This made Miura Yumiko keep staring at him.

“So, Kitagami Yoru, how good are your relationship with Hina?”

The curious blonde asked intentionally to slow down, speaking quickly.

    “It’s okay,” he replied.

Kitagami Yoru looked at Miura Yumiko.

“What do you mean by ‘it’s okay’?”

“Are you just being polite with me?”

He crossed his eyes, and Miura Yumiko, as usual, twirled her golden hair with a finger.

She actively approached the male student, which was highly unusual for Ebina Hina, who had a thing for “rotten girls.”

It wasn’t just once or twice.

He had seen it all in her eyes.

“Hmm, I think my relationship with you is better than hers,” she said.

Kitagami Yoru pondered for a moment before responding to Miura Yumiko’s question while he was putting his bag on his back.

    Says it.

The difference between two blondes is significant, isn’t it?

    Eriri is a mixed-breed white-skinned blonde lolita.

Gabriel too, but her flavor is completely different from Eriri’s.

Miura Yumiko is a dominant and strong-willed long-legged blonde queen with a mysterious aura. Her presence is… indescribable.

    “Who are you to me?”

Miura Yumiko, unpleased, blocks Kitagami Yoru’s path.

Those grandmotherly green eyes, like venomous snakes hidden in the dark, staring intently at Kitagami Yoru.

    “Forgot?”

Kitagami Yoru shrugs and turns her back, walking away without a glance.

“I wanted to answer honestly too.”

“Too bad, Ebina Hina doesn’t want to.”

At the door, Kitagami Yoru looks back at Miura Yumiko and mutters her thoughts.

The golden queen’s fingers tighten into fists, trembling slightly.

“Kitagami Yoru, is that about that incident?”

    “Asshole….”

It’s almost as if they’ve forgotten, Miura Yumiko’s butt goes cold as she recalls her accidental fall.

    She’s so embarrassed!

At the art club, Kitagami Yoru continues modeling.

According to Eriri and the others’ progress, the first template drawing should be completed this week.

    The clock ticks….

In two hours, the art club activity ends.

Kitagami Yoru slams her acidic legs and struggles to stand, saying, “Sitting still is really tiring.”

Two female members of the art club approach her.

Eriri didn’t hear anything, quickly packing her things, thinking: “Tomoya has probably been waiting for me.”

She was the first one to leave the Club Complex Building.

One is not wanting to see Kitagami Yoru, and two is hoping to see Tomoya Aki soon!

Nearby, Eriri slightly quickened her pace.

    “Eriri.”

Nearly arriving at the entrance of Shuchiin Academy, Tomoya Aki had been stuck in the library for an hour and a half, showing slight excitement as he greeted her.

    “Hmm.”

Even after all that, Eriri still wanted to act superior.

    Oh…

Anybody know how to train this little golden retriever to be more obedient?

Well, that stuck-in-the-mud bird Tomoya Aki won’t do.

Following Eriri from a distance, confirming Kitagami Yoru wasn’t around, Tomoya Aki felt satisfied as he went home.

Kasumigaoka Utaha, let him forget about it for now.

    Back home.

Today’s lucky encounter with a female Aoyama Nanami who had just finished work.

    “Nanami, Nanami….”

The girl walked ahead, and suddenly from behind came the voice of Kitagami Yoru.

Aoyama Nanami stopped her steps, first with a happy turn of her head, then becoming tense.

    She’s a bad woman.

Even though she said she wouldn’t and decided not to, she still couldn’t stop herself today.

That feeling was so amazing it felt like it could reach the clouds, lingering in Aoyama Nanami’s mind for a long time.

It’s not just boys who get addicted; girls can too.

Speed up, Yoru Kitagami finally catches up to Nanami Aoyama, smiling at her.

Despite living in the same apartment, their meeting frequency due to different routines is quite low.

    “Kitagami-san.”

Struggling to maintain a natural expression, Nanami Aoyama secretly takes a deep breath through her nose.

“You got back pretty early today. Have you eaten already?”

Yoru Kitagami speaks casually and walks over to go home together.

“No, it’s not too late. How about you, Kitagami-san?”

Nanami Aoyama tilts her head at Yoru Kitagami, feeling curious.

    So late to come back?

    Is it with another girl?

“Let’s go out for a bite?”

Yoru Kitagami looks up at the sky.

    The sun hasn’t set yet.

    “Oh? Want to go out?”

    “With me?”

Mentioning this, Nanami Aoyama is surprised and reacts too much.

    “Nanami, what’s wrong?”

Yoru Kitagami shows a strange expression, quickly glancing at Nanami Aoyama.

She still looks as cute and beautiful as ever; no change there.

It’s just going out for dinner. Why are you so surprised?

“No… not really… I was thinking about the voice competition, got distracted….”

    “Sorry, sorry.”

Realizing something’s off, Nanami Aoyama uses the opportunity to unleash her secret attack.

Yoru Kitagami doesn’t suspect a thing and continues to comfort and encourage her.

I’ve learned to lie as well….

Aoyama Nanami, who narrowly escaped, quietly lets out a sigh, hesitatingly considering whether to agree to Kitagami Yoru’s invitation.

To go out for dinner together.

    Is it really okay?

“What’s going on with those girls?”

    “Kitagami-san, doesn’t he also… “

Upon thinking about it, Aoyama Nanami’s breathing seems to stiffen, but instead of getting angry, she feels relieved.

Kitagami Yoru assumes that Aoyama Nanami is deep in thought and doesn’t urge her on.

However, this matter is indeed quite important.

He doesn’t know about the turmoil inside her stomach.

    “Shall we go?”

“We’ll have dinner and come back; it won’t take too long.”

Far away, Kitagami Yoru lightly taps Aoyama Nanami’s shoulder to ask.

    “Then… let’s go.”

Aoyama Nanami is still willing to have dinner with Kitagami Yoru.

“Hmm, take a bath, change your clothes, and leave at seven o’clock. How about that?”

    Kitagami Yoru suggests.

“You can arrange it however you like.”

    Aoyama Nanami doesn’t object.

They say goodbye at the apartment stairs and go their separate ways.

Kitagami Yoru hums a song as he walks back, unaware that Aoyama Nanami is still watching his figure.

    “San-san, I’m back.”

After putting on shoes, Kitagami Yoru enters the apartment.

The best dietary habit for cats is to eat fewer meals more spread out.

However, Kitagami Yoru feeds him two meals a day, which is still fine.

    “Meow-meow…”

San-san is crawling on the sofa, licking while ignoring Kitagami Yoru.

Taking a shower and washing his head, then changing clothes.

Picking up his wallet and phone, Kitagami Yoru goes to find Aoyama Nanami first.

“Would Kitagami-san like me wearing that one?”

    “This dress, is it beautiful?”

A one-sided girl thinking about going on a date, she has makeup ready and is struggling to choose among few clothes.

To avoid making Kitagami Yoru wait too long, Aoyama Nanami finally chose a black turtleneck made of knitted material.

    It’s cold at night.

    “Have you been waiting long?”

Pushing open the door, Aoyama Nanami observes Kitagami Yoru’s reaction.

    “No, go.”

Kitagami Yoru tilts his head to indicate, wearing very simple and casual clothes.

Mainly because he’s super handsome and good-looking, even in a simple white bag, he won’t look bad.

Cute, walking side by side, Kitagami Yoru and Aoyama Nanami go to the station and take three stops.

They arrive at a nearby shopping district.

The station is packed with people.

“So many people! They’re all tourists.”

It’s the season for red maple leaves in Tokyo from mid-September to mid-November.

Although not as famous as cherry blossom season, there are still many foreign tourists.

    “Hold my hand?”

In the crowd, seeing Aoyama Nanami’s hesitation, Kitagami Yoru suggests stretching out his hand.

A girl’s heart trembles slightly, and she stiffly extends her hand, letting Kitagami Yoru pull her out of the station.

Her hand is soft and smooth, almost childlike in its texture.

    “Kitagami-san’s hand.”

Kitagami Yoru doesn’t overthink it, but Aoyama Nanami is both excited and nervous.

As soon as they exit the station, Kitagami Yoru lets go of her hand.

“Go shopping, and what do you want for dinner?”

Kitagami Yoru isn’t one to be shy about money.

    “You decide.”

As they head back, Aoyama Nanami seems distracted.

They end up shopping at a nearby convenience store.

He suggests a reasonably priced sushi place from a well-known chain.

Kitagami Yoru just says to go ahead, no pressure.

They sit down and he orders a specially made matcha ice drink, his gaze steadily fixed on Aoyama Nanami.

The girl’s heart races with adolescent anxiety, hesitation, and she almost asks, but Kitagami Yoru beats her to it.

“Nanami, you look really beautiful tonight…,” he says with a faint smile.

Kitagami Yoru maintains his calm demeanor throughout.
