Under the table, there’s a small action.
“How come you’re this perverted guy sitting in front of me?”
Miura Yumiko’s expression conveys what she was about to say, conveying that Kitagami Yoru should understand it.
In any case,
It’s clear he’s a bit disapproving.
Even if he isn’t really disapproving, Hayama Hayato would be better sitting in front of her.
Sipping his glass of ice water, Kitagami Yoru notices Miura Yumiko’s expression and almost smiles.
Not long after,
Everyone brings their lunch to the table and places it down.
The current fashionables are talking among themselves while Kitagami Yoru quietly uses his spoon, feeding himself one bite at a time.
The conversation is led by Miura Yumiko and Tobe Kakeru, with others occasionally chiming in to join the discussion.
Suddenly, Tobe Kakeru looks over at Ebina Hina, seeming casual as he asks: “Ah, no…Ebina, why did you suddenly summon Kitagami Yoru-san?”
Upon hearing this, Kitagami Yoru quickly lifts his head to look at Tobe Kakeru.
Everyone else, except for Yuigahama Yui who likes Kitagami Yoru, isn’t too interested.
Glancing over at Kitagami Yoru, they go back to their own tasks.
“Oh? Just a chance encounter…I just asked out of the blue.”
“Well, I and Kitagami-san have a decent relationship, right?”
Ebina Hina smiles and replies, then turns to look at Kitagami Yoru, patting his shoulder with a slap.
“It’s definitely fine. I’ll agree without any issues.”
Kitagami Yoru is very cooperative, forcing out a faint smile.
“Right, Yuui and Kitagami-san are in the same club; there’s nothing bad about it.”
Hina Ebina looked at Yuigahama Yui sitting across from her.
“Is that so?!”
“Ebina, when did you and Kitagami Yoru-san become close, and why didn’t we know about it?”
Tobe Kakeru was worried, bleeding and very uncomfortable, yet he forced a casual demeanor while speaking.
“Probably last semester, that thing with the Commercial Street incident at the shoe store.”
Kitagami Yoru clearly knew why Ebina Hina had been called over and responded proactively, looking toward Miura Yumiko.
Noticing that Kitagami Yoru was looking at her, Miura Yumiko lifted her head to meet his gaze and then recalled.
“It seems there really is something about it.”
“I remember now.”
Miura Yumiko nodded as she remembered.
“Oh, right? Haha, but Kitagami Yoru-san, aren’t you supposed to spend weekends with your girlfriend?”
“And what’s up with Aoyama-san and your relationship?”
Tobe Kakeru seemed concerned about Kitagami Yoru’s private life but was actually misinterpreting the underlying tension between Kitagami Yoru and Ebina Hina.
He then brought up Kitagami Yoru’s personal life, emphasizing that his relationships with other girls were unusual and that he had a good connection with someone specific, revealing the true nature of the “sleaze” to Ebina Hina.
The topic was indeed quite awkward.
But upon hearing this, Yuigahama Yui’s heart fluctuated the most.
She didn’t understand the complexities and wanted to find out more, hesitatingly asking through Tobe Kakeru: “I remember, Kitagami-san was always single, wasn’t he?”
“Yeah, definitely.”
“Before, I stayed at the Service Club for tutoring, and now I work in the art club. I don’t get home until 5:30 every afternoon. How can I have time…”
Kitagami Yoru responded calmly.
“But I heard that School likes your daughter a lot.”
Miura Yumiko suddenly opened her mouth, speaking in a calm but confrontational tone.
She habitually used her slender index finger to comb her golden hair while staring at Kitagami Yoru.
The moment she finished speaking, Ebina Hina blinked in surprise and felt a surge of jealousy toward Miura Yumiko, her supposed best friend.
“Is that true?”
In his shoebox under the bed, Kitagami Yoru often found love letters or notes with contact information.
The number of these items had been decreasing lately.
“You?”
Miura Yumiko thought Kitagami Yoru was just being boring, wearing white long tube socks with black leather shoes that reeked of sweat. She lightly kicked his shin.
The pain in his shin made Kitagami Yoru not back down easily. He began to counterattack.
“You’re kicking me? I’ll kick you too.”
He said it under his breath, then firmly kicked back.
Kitagami Yoru dared to resist, something Miura Yumiko hadn’t expected at all.
She stared at him in shock, taking in Kitagami Yoru’s appearance. Hmm…
He was well-dressed and had a certain charm… it made her feel frustrated and defeated.
On the floor, they continued their footplay and secret wrestling match, both looking calm.
“They say Kitagami-san is the one who stole Kasumigaoka Utaha’s personal clothing items. Isn’t that the case?”
“Wait, who is this Kitagami-san? Did he really break the case?”
Ebina Hina was incredibly smart; she wasn’t fazed by Miura Yumiko’s lackluster attempt at complimenting her. The only thing Miura had going for herself was a nice wallet and an enviable figure.
Actually, Miura Yumiko is also concerned about Ebina Hina. What if a good friend like Kitagami Yoru gets deceived?
Kitagami Yoru is so handsome; the girls who like him are many, and who knows what might happen?
“Hmm? Yeah, who’s the real criminal then?”
In their confrontation under the dining table, Miura Yumiko and Kitagami Yoru both lost. The grandmotherly green eyes secretly slit at Kitagami Yoru.
She sighed, shifting her legs aside, grabbing her golden hair with one hand, and humming softly in her mouth.
Like a spoiled wife or a girlfriend who discovers her boyfriend has been unfaithful, she’s fuming with jealousy.
“A girl? That’s unexpected, isn’t it?”
Kitagami Yoru notices everyone is curious about this and doesn’t advise revealing it.
“Yeah, only girls wouldn’t be afraid, would they?”
“Even if she gets caught, she can lie well enough to get away with it.”
“That girl is mainly jealous of Kasumigaoka Utaha….”
“But how did you find out? The killer was a girl?”
Miura Yumiko secretly kicks Kitagami Yoru again, seeking answers while also inquiring.
“A secret. I accepted her compensation and promised her to keep it quiet.”
Kitagami Yoru shakes his head.
They quickly pass through the brief lunch break…….
There’s a bus stop near the family restaurant; they walk for just a few minutes to get there.
The Duck River Aquarium can be said to be the most attractive and famous attraction in Duck City, drawing tourists primarily for this reason.
There are several direct bus stops nearby; not long after, a bus arrives.
The bus is spacious, with few people on the street. Kitagami Yoru and his companions sit comfortably.
“Thank you for your help, Kitagami-san.”
No matter what others think, Ebina Hina sat right next to Kitagami Yoru, lowering her voice as she spoke.
“I’ve never been a decoy before. How do you think it went?”
Kitagami Yoru also lowered his head, leaning closer to Ebina Hina.
“Knowing that Tobe realized I like you, and that our relationship is different, would be perfect.”
“Let him know it’s difficult and make him retreat.”
As Ebina Hina spoke, she pulled out her phone to show Kitagami Yoru the LINE app.
“Wait a minute.”
Other than money and his phone, Kitagami Yoru didn’t take anything else, like the melon card.
To save battery, he turned off his phone.
All of this happened on the bus, right in front of everyone’s eyes.
Miura Yumiko’s ears were practically perking up, but she didn’t hear a single word.
She had no choice but to guess blindly, her eyes wide with confusion.
“I’ll have time later; I need to talk to Kitagami Yoru.”
Keeping a close watch, Miura Yumiko eventually redirected her curious gaze.
The bus ride took about twenty minutes.
They got off at the Sea World station.
It was obvious to anyone walking by that there were tourists around.
On weekends, the area still saw a decent number of people.
“Kitagami-san, I’ve already bought your ticket. I’ll send you the e-voucher code.”
Ebina Hina sent a message via LINE to Kitagami Yoru.
“Let’s go to the place.”
Hayama Hayato looked at Kitagami Yoru and opened his mouth to call out.
“Come on, Hayato. Let’s have fun together, shall we?”
Miura Yumiko happily approached him, getting close to Hayama Hayato and asking.
“Of course, it’s going to be fun. Tobe loves penguins, right?”
Hayama Hayato smiled warmly at the distracted Tobe Kakeru.
Tobe Kakeru, who was secretly observing his rival Kitagami Yoru, responded with a slight delay and awkwardly nodded in agreement.
“Hayato!”
Miura Yumiko got upset and made an annoyed little hum, but she didn’t know what to say.
“Yumiko, let’s go see the dolphins.”
“I heard that these dolphins are really smart and there’s a dolphin show that’s free to watch. The ticket includes everything.”
Yuigahama Yui hugged Miura Yumiko’s arm and slowed her pace as Ebina Hina walked up.
“Yumiko, Yui!”
Seeing the group of four boys from the popular clique in front of them, Ebina Hina quickly dropped Kitagami Yoru and caught up from behind.
Walking shoulder to shoulder, almost touching Miura Yumiko.
The group of eight was split into three clusters.
Kitagami Yoru remained quiet, following behind. He looked at the three pairs of white legs and the swaying hips in front of him, coughing twice.
His comment caught Miura Yumiko’s attention, who glared at Kitagami Yoru with a scowl.
“That’s odd.”
Kitagami Yoru didn’t seem to care and shrugged his shoulders casually.
The area of the Tokyo Bay Aquarium was only slightly smaller than the combined size of two Tokyo Disney Resort parks.
Note, it’s two parks combined.
If you want to enjoy shopping thoroughly, you have to play all projects one by one, even with a VIP pass, it will take at least a full day.
Time is limited.
So they decided to gather and have fun, playing some popular attractions, watching the dolphin show, and free activities for about half an hour.
The park itself is quite spacious, with many people but no crowding.
“Hmm, not bad. I can trick Chika into going out-of-town tourism together in the future.”
“At night, we can’t go back….”
“Ha ha, definitely share a room with me, right?”
Kitagami Yoru watches casually, thinking about his girlfriend.
After a while, they arrived at a place in the park.
Wearing a short sleeve shirt, Kitagami Yoru suddenly feels a cold breeze that makes him shiver.
The temperature drops instantly, shocking his skin and stimulating his nerves, causing him to cough repeatedly.
He then wraps his arms around himself to warm up.
“This is the ice world; it’s going to be cold.”
Yuigahama Yui notices Kitagami Yoru’s confusion and points to a sign nearby.
The sign has a blue color scheme with polar bears, seals, and icebergs as promotional imagery, reminding tourists.
In front of them is the ice world; the temperature is low, suggesting they wear coats or adapt.
“Alright, I can manage for a while without a problem.”
Kitagami Yoru gradually regains his composure and adapts to the cold.
Miura Yumiko also complains about the cold in front of Yuigahama Yui.
“Let’s go.”
Yuigahama Yui gathers her courage and approaches Kitagami Yoru, forcing a small smile out of him.
“Getting closer will make it warmer.”
Kitagami Yoru doesn’t think too much about it.
They walk forward for a bit, cross a small arch and enter a short tunnel, emerging into an environment that suddenly feels different.
It’s as if they’ve entered an icy tundra.
The district aims to provide a genuine experience, even adding subtle winds that continuously blow around them.
“This project must be one of the most popular in Ocean World, right?”
Kitagami Yoru looks at Yuigahama Yui and starts teasing her.
“What… what’s wrong?”
Yuigahama Yui shows confusion in her eyes.
“Maybe the district set up this area to create profits, lowering the temperature so that we, without proper clothing, can’t fully enjoy the visit.”
“Scamming us into buying tickets and making us come back next time.”
Kitagami Yoru jokes in response to Yuigahama Yui.
It’s not impossible, though.
Many shops and businesses might lose money on certain items just to attract customers; it’s a common sales strategy.
“Oh, really?”
Yuigahama Yui expresses some surprise in her voice.
“Maybe. How about the Service Club?”
Kitagami Yoru asks casually and follows the sign pointing inside.
Everything’s fine, really. It’s you who…
“Modeling club work, is it not tiring every day?”
Yuigahama Yui thought carefully about this, aside from the time she talked to Kawasaki Saki without any further interaction.
Nothing’s wrong with that.
It’s not a big deal either.
“It’s not that tiring. The seats are more comfortable than the Service Club.”
Kitagami Yoru pushed his way to the front, using his height advantage to see things from a different perspective.
A massive indoor space resembling the South and North Poles.
A group of penguins, roughly around twenty, with some lounging on the ice.
Others are submerged underwater.
Moving forward a bit more, there’s a feeding platform where you can get close to the penguins and pay to feed them small fish.
“What kind of borrowing behavior is this…”
Kitagami Yoru checked the prices, which weren’t too expensive.
“Next to it is a polar bear…”
Yuigahama Yui caught up with Kitagami Yoru and slightly remarked at another sight.
At this point, the group from Tokyo had dispersed.
But we can confirm they’re still involved in the ice world project.
“Putting penguins from the South Pole and polar bears together is really clever.”
Kitagami Yoru followed Yuigahama Yui’s indication to look over.
About ten minutes later…
Two people and Miura Yumiko gather together, visiting the aquarium for a while. They watch the shark performance, including the fierce oceanic whitetip sharks.
Time is almost up.
They later leave after watching the dolphin show.
Their seats are arranged by the park, one person per ticket.
Despite watching the performance, Kitagami Yoru remains seated next to Miura Yumiko.
The other person pulls out their phone to take an interested selfie, capturing dolphins in the water.
Not long after sitting down, the dolphin show begins.
A trainer blows a pink whistle hard!
In the next second—
Five silvery gray forms speed through the water surface, leaping high.
