    Changing Room Battle

The bland weekend quietly passed, in a blink of an eye, it was already next Wednesday.

Kitagami Yoru lost weight for a whole week.

At this moment, he was standing in front of a white scale, his face slightly heavy and nervous.

    “Sigh~”

Taking a deep breath, Kitagami Yoru, only wearing thin pajamas, stepped onto the scale barefoot.

The numbers on the LCD screen of the scale were jumping crazily.

    140 kilograms!

    280 pounds!

“Lost seven kilograms in a week!”

Kitagami Yoru excitedly clenched his fists, swung them hard, and stepped off the scale.

Although, a significant portion of those seven kilograms were water weight, he was still a 280-pound big guy.

But he had lost some weight!

The progress of his weight loss was better than expected.

“At this rate, in a month’s time.”

“I estimate I can lose at least 30 more pounds, but it will be harder after that.”

Even so, Kitagami Yoru was still excited and happy.

He ran to the kitchen, found a chocolate bar from the bottom of the fridge, broke it in half as his reward.

“It’s like an indulgence meal for fitness and bodybuilding; those professional athletes aren’t preparing for competitions all the time.”

“This is a confirmation and reward for my efforts this week!”

Kitagami Yoru treated the chocolate like a treasure, putting it in his mouth.

The sweet and smooth chocolate melted instantly in his mouth, forming a rich chocolate stream that flowed down his parched throat.

With his eyes closed, Kitagami Yoru savored this beautiful moment.

Recalling the countless drops of sweat and effort he put into losing weight this week.

    It was all worth it.

His physical and mental state were slowly improving, and he had become more disciplined.

He put the remaining half of the chocolate back in the fridge.

Then, as usual, he made his difficult-to-swallow diet lunch and breakfast.

Before going out, he petted San-san who was sleeping on the couch from head to tail, picked him up, and rubbed him affectionately.

The weather is still as gloomy as ever, it might rain heavily any moment.

“Good morning, Gabriel. Did you wait for a long time?” Kitagami Yoru greeted Gabriel who was waiting outside after going out.

“Not at all, you seem very happy today?” Gabriel sensed the faint joy emanating from Kitagami Yoru.

“Yeah, I’m losing weight, it’s going well.” Kitagami Yoru locked the door and walked with Gabriel.

They agreed to go to school together in the morning.

“That’s why, I always feel something is different.” Gabriel didn’t notice any significant changes in Kitagami Yoru, but she chose to lie to avoid discouraging him.

To lose weight, Kitagami Yoru not only controlled his diet but also quit gaming and only played Nintendo’s VR sports games as aerobic exercise.

“How about you? How is it at school?” Kitagami Yoru thought Gabriel was a foreigner and asked out of concern.

“It’s fine.” As they walked, Gabriel thought about the two demon classmates from hell.

She had a brief encounter with one of them and found that person to be quite nice.

They chatted casually as they walked towards the station.

When passing by the shopping street, Kitagami Yoru stopped Gabriel and bought a portable umbrella for them both.

Morning classes ended with Hiratsuka Shizuka’s Japanese class.

Kitagami Yoru listened attentively and took notes.

Hiratsuka Shizuka was satisfied with Kitagami Yoru’s performance and nodded secretly.

Time flew by, and morning classes were over in a flash.

    It was lunchtime.

After eating his low-calorie lunch, Kitagami Yoru went out and bought a bottle of black coffee.

This became his habit, drinking a bottle every day to energize himself, promote intestinal metabolism, and aid in weight loss.

Back at school, Miura Yumiko was surrounded by a few people, forming a clique.

Almost every day, they would gather during lunchtime to chat and walk together after school.

“Oh no, we have swimming in the afternoon, what should I do if I forget my swimsuit?” Miura Yumiko complained.

“It’s okay, Yumiko. Sometimes people leave their swimsuits in the changing room and don’t take them back; they are all clean anyway.” Yuigahama Yuu agreed and laughed.

“Please don’t, I caught a cold recently and still have to swim. Hayato, let’s ask the teacher for an excuse together.”

“I have a game in the afternoon, so let’s save energy and stay by the pool together.”

“Yui, why haven’t you been hanging out with us after school lately? You’re late.” Miura Yumiko scrolled through her phone.

“Well, actually, I joined a club.”

    …….

“It’s the swimming class in the afternoon.”

Yoru, browsing through his smartphone news quietly, heard Yumiko mention swimming lessons and showed a hint of discomfort.

Education in Japan places great importance on sports achievements.

It’s April now, summer is just around the corner.

All of this semester’s physical education classes will be teaching swimming.

The girls will change into navy blue, very conservative swimsuits.

Boys will be shirtless and wear loose swim trunks.

This is considered a perk for the boys.

    But…

Yoru looked down at his belly fat, thinking about wearing loose swim trunks and taking lessons with these classmates in the same swimming pool.

    He felt uneasy and uncomfortable.

    Second period in the afternoon.

    Swimming class.

The indoor swimming pool at Shuchiiin Academy was as luxurious as a large hotel pool.

A special female instructor hired for the class directed everyone in line.

Being tall, Yoru stood at the back of the last row, on the edge.

The teacher first had them do warm-ups, explained some precautions, and then sent Yoru and others to the changing room to change.

“You can’t hide from it forever.”

Yoru walked with a gloomy face, following the boys to the changing room.

He thought of it as a way to lose weight; swimming is an excellent aerobic exercise.

The boys’ changing room was very noisy, and during the change, some small actions were unavoidable.

After taking off their shirts, everyone started comparing their bodies.

They would touch each other’s abs and muscles, quickly gathering in a lively group.

Yoru stood in the corner, reluctantly putting on the loose swim trunks provided by the school.

He tied the drawstring and fastened the buttons.

Suddenly, a group of people gathered at the changing room entrance, shouting in unison.

Even the girls’ changing room next door could hear it.

    “Mine is the biggest!”

“No, mine is definitely the biggest!”

“You’re lying, you can’t even see it.”

    Haha~

A burst of laughter echoed again.

Kitagami Yoru knew they were comparing something, covering his pants and trying to slip away from the side.

But it didn’t go as planned. Tobe Kakeru placed his hands on Kitagami Yoru’s shoulders, giving him a playful shove and joining in with others, pushing Kitagami Yoru into the center of the crowd.

Almost all the boys had gathered here.

In the middle of the circle.

A quarter-foreign mixed-race boy, who looked ordinary, was looking down at Hayama Hayatō with a hint of mockery in his eyes.

Hayama Hayatō had an awkward smile on his face, thinking negatively about Tobē Kakeru.

It was supposed to be a comparison of muscles, as he was from the soccer club and had good muscle lines.

Later, someone started a chant about dignity.

In reality, they were all the same human species, with similar development. Comparing through loose swim trunks didn’t reveal much.

Then a mixed-race student stood out, clearly on another level.

Hayama Hayatō was embarrassed. Usually, he was the highest-ranking boy in class with his excellent looks and sunny personality.

Unexpectedly, he fell into a disadvantageous position in the changing room.
