Chapter 10 Noah: You these who defile the names of the dead, Xenos!

    “…I, I want peace!”

Holding a plushie in her hands, Lia’s eyes blazed with intense light.

“I hope, Mom, Dad, and Eularia, you don’t have to worry anymore! I want everyone to smile!”

After saying that, Lia unintentionally panted slightly, nervously looking at Noah.

In her line of sight, Noah slowly nodded and stood up.

Whether it was unexpected or not, Lia couldn’t tell. She just saw nothing unusual.

“No problem, you’ll get what you want.”

Like a divine judgment of the future, Noah spoke with a light and firm tone.

Then he turned away and disappeared into the crowd under the girl’s gaze.

At a stall selling thick meat soup, a masked blond elf suddenly stopped what she was doing while cutting fruit.

Her blue eyes, like a clear summer sky, scanned the crowd. She didn’t notice anything unusual and furrowed her brow slightly.

“That’s strange, I feel like someone was looking at me just now.”

That kind of gaze made her quite curious.

Whether it was malicious or good-natured, the presence of that gaze was very strong.

Just like a dangerous wild animal, even just being looked at by it would make your body react involuntarily.

The master of that gaze could have any attitude towards them, but she couldn’t tell.

But the master of that gaze must be extremely dangerous, and the blond elf was certain about that.

“Hey! Dummy Elf! What are you doing being lazy?”

A woman in a kimono, slicing meat with a katana, looked like she might be pitiable, but her voice had a rough and harsh quality to it.

On a normal day, hearing that would have led the blond elf to retort. But this time, she didn’t directly refute it, still cautiously scanning the crowd with her blue eyes.

“Wait, Kaguya, I don’t want to argue with you right now. I just felt like someone was looking at us. Maybe it’s a Black Sun Court member.”

Saying that, the kimono-wearing girl also slightly narrowed her eyes, her gaze as dangerous as a sharp blade.

After a couple of glances, the crowd was still noisy and crowded. She couldn’t tell anything unusual, so she looked back at the blond elf with a doubtful expression.

“Hey, you’re not in heat season and can’t get satisfied, so you imagine things, right?”

Even if the gold-haired Elf had a better temper, listening to that would make her lose her cool.

Don’t talk about suspecting there’s a dark faction lurking in the shadows. Even if a Cyclopane Black Dragon descended, she still wanted to fight this toxic-tongued woman first!

“Hey! Kaguya! You’re such an asshole! Want to fight?”

“Huh? Do you think you can beat me?”

The crowd watched the scene with a mix of excitement and fascination, some even wanting to clap and cheer.

After all, what in this world is more entertaining than watching two beautiful girls fight up close?

It’s just that people can’t have everything they want. Otherwise, it would be hard to imagine how many times someone could act so foolishly.

At the critical moment, a red-haired girl with a bright smile squeezed her way between the two, preventing what was about to happen.

“Alright, alright. So Kaguya and Ryu, you two should get along better. Why did you suddenly start fighting? Loki Familia and Guild Senior are watching us, so this kind of behavior will make Asteria Familia lose face!”

Kaguya elegantly flicked her sleeves and turned to cut some vegetables.

Ryu Lion, the gold-haired Elf, looked at Alise Lovell with a slightly annoyed expression in her eyebrows.

“Alise! I’m telling you, Kaguya is…”

After explaining everything, Alise Lovell probably understood what had happened and instinctively scanned the crowd.

Without feeling anything unusual, she then stood tall with her flat chest visible under her helmet, waving at Ryu.

“It’s all in your head. After all, it’s normal for me to be admired as a World-Class Beauty. Unfortunately, I have to fight for Asteria’s Justice and can’t respond to their advances!”

Looking at Alise Lovell, who was excitedly pacing back and forth, feeling proud of herself, and then sighing in frustration, Kaguya and Ryu were both a bit puzzled. Even Ryu Lion couldn’t remember what had happened earlier, with a black line appearing on her pale forehead.

However, Alise Lovell didn’t have that awareness. Instead, she noticed a faint emerald figure in the corner of her eye and her eyes lit up.

She flipped over from the table and ran out of the stall.

“Ah! That’s not Nine Demon Princesses-sama? It’s been a while… huh? What about this little sister?”

Looking at that famous First-Class Adventurer in the city, the team leader—who had almost just gotten into a fight with Kaguya and Ryu—couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed. The gold-haired Elf and the kimono girl exchanged a glance before both sighed in frustration.

Northeast Sector, Third District of the city.

It was probably because of Charity Feast that the group seemed unusually quiet, even making the distant noise from North District feel far away.

In a quiet alleyway, Noah stopped and scratched his somewhat empty stomach.

He sighed and decided to resolve the trouble as quickly as possible so he could go eat something soon.

“Come out, do you plan to stay with me forever?”

A cold, sharp voice echoes through the quiet alley along with the midday wind.

The heavy footsteps of someone walking on the cobblestone streets also slowly resonate in the air.

Wild eyes gradually appear in the darkness, and their hair, under the sunlight, is a bright, eye-catching light red. The person is wearing a tattered shirt with leather pants.

“Ahoy ahoy, kid, I can tell you’ve never been to Elaria before. Are you a new comer? I’m quite curious about you.”

Valetta looks over the silver-haired boy with an expression that seems light but is actually intense.

As one of the most important members of the Black Sun Guild, she may be called the “Slaughter Emperor” due to her bloodthirsty intentions, but she is also one of the smartest and most capable leaders within the guild.

If that weren’t the case, she wouldn’t have survived seven years of battles with Finn, who is known as a hero, since their encounters have been frequent.

A few days ago, Valetta learned about Thanatos trying to tempt Loki Familia’s new member “Doll Princess” Failure. During her retreat, she was attacked by an unknown Swordsman believed to be lv4 while withdrawing, prompting her to start investigating the matter.

After all, with Zeus Familia and Hera Familia retreating, the only strong member of Freya Familia in the city is Ottar at lv6. The Guild’s records show that there are fewer than ten lv5 members, and one additional member whose level isn’t recorded. Even a single lv4 Adventurer could turn the tide during a critical moment.

While arranging for people to find and monitor similar Adventurers in the city, Valetta is also activating her network of informants to see if there are any new forces in Elaria.

But how can she put this into words?

Because she initially assumed that the other side was targeting the Black Sun Guild, Valetta arranged for people to search for hidden locations throughout the city. However, there were no results in three or four days.

It wasn’t until a member of the Black Sun Guild saw Noah on the street that she realized her mistake and grew concerned.

Instead of focusing on that, it seems this time, their opponent is more complex.

So, Valetta has prepared for various scenarios along the way.

She decided to stay calm no matter what happens…

“A new comer? Compared to you, I’m also a newcomer. Old woman.”

Noah glares at Valetta with a sidelong glance.

“You’re interested in me, but I have no interest in you. Anyway, both of us are like that Xenos guy—abusing and mocking the name of Death God.”
