Chapter 119 Give Evil of This World a slap.

    “Huh? What’s that?”

As Gilgamesh recovered and left with the unconscious middle-aged man in the corner, Noah felt a single individual’s Presence rapidly moving away.

He paid attention because that individual’s Presence felt somewhat familiar to him.

Wasn’t that the individual he helped Tohsaka Tokiomi last night?

Noah’s heart suddenly skipped a beat, looking at Tohsaka Tokiomi’s corpse.

To be precise, it was the short sword on his back.

But before Noah could continue thinking, Medea (Caster)’s voice came from his ear.

“Hey! Are you just going to let that Goldie (Gilgamesh) get away? That’s a dangerous opponent! He should even be the only one in this Holy Grail War who can threaten you!”

Through the Mana contract, Medea (Caster) couldn’t maintain a 2-way connection with Noah, who had entered the Inherent Barrier, but it was fine to watch the situation.

Even though Gilgamesh looked like he lost badly, Medea (Caster) saw his threat level at a glance.

Although Noah’s Inherent Barrier was practically invincible, there was a limit to its range.

If Gilgamesh ran far away, what could he do about it?

Acher was a class that primarily relied on long-range Offensive Arts.

Launching a sneak attack from thousands of meters away was their main fighting method.

This time, being able to pull Gilgamesh into the Barrier was largely due to his arrogance and underestimation.

Without that Inherent Barrier that devoured Mana, they would have definitely lost to Gilgamesh, who possessed countless Noble Phantasm prototypes.

Noah didn’t answer Medea (Caster) directly, but rolled his eyes involuntarily.

“Princess, don’t you remember anything? I’m seriously injured now, and I’m lucky to be standing. As your temporary Master, shouldn’t you have some responsibilities to fulfill? You’ve been watching the battle too intently, haven’t you?”

A moment of silence, Noah could almost see Medea (Caster)’s expression gradually turning blank.

    “…Sorry!”

Powerful Magic Healing was transmitted, making Noah involuntarily close his eyes in comfort.

Oh, how I wish I had a Magic Healing, this was not the first time Noah lamented in his heart.

Unfortunately, his Mana was too violent, as if born solely for destruction, making it unrealistic to use it for recovery of his Fundamental.

After Noah barely regained control over his Body, Artoria and Waver, who was in Iskandar (Rider)’s arms, also came to, and they both saw Sola-Ui lying in a pool of blood.

    “Master!”

    “Miss Sola-Ui!”

Artoria instinctively wanted to pull out Avalon from within her, but she came to her senses eventually.

Sola-Ui was already dead, her corpse had even gone cold.

Although Avalon could heal even the most severe injuries, it was powerless against death.

Why did this happen, when they had agreed to avoid the battlefield and not engage in combat after the war began?

Why was she lying here now?

In just a few short minutes, it had come to this…

For a moment, the guilt of failing to protect her Master’s fiancée and the blame for not following the strategy to avoid combat swirled in Artoria’s mind, leaving her stunned.

Although every time Artoria saw Sola-Ui, she couldn’t help but think of Guinevere, the respect, recognition, and help she received from Sola-Ui were undeniable.

Apart from her somewhat foolish and arrogant nature, Sola-Ui was an extremely friendly Master to her Servant.

In the past, I failed to protect Camelot.

Now, I have failed to protect Sola-Ui, betraying Kenneth’s trust.

    I am…

The self-reproach left Artoria stunned for over ten seconds before she came back to her senses, looking at Noah, whose injuries had mostly recovered and whose Mana was replenishing.

“…Noah, I want to take Sola-Ui back, can we postpone our fight for next time?”

Seeing Artoria, who was emitting a defeated aura, like the remnants of a blazing fire that had burned out, leaving only ashes, Noah sighed and nodded slowly.

    “Alright.”

He then looked at the Rider Master and Servant, who seemed to want to escape but were torn because of Sola-Ui.

“And what about you? Are you prepared to die here?”

    “Huh?”

The Holy Grail War was a fight to the death, based on this principle, Waver seemed to have predicted his own death, his face turned pale, and he was about to faint again.

“That kid, since I have lost, it’s only natural that I don’t have the face to beg for my life,” Iskandar said.

Iskandar (Rider) scratched his cheek, which had been badly burned, and looked at his Master, who had fallen again, and couldn’t help but let out a sigh.

“However, if you can spare my life, I’d be eternally grateful. After all, this kid is still inexperienced, and I need to keep an eye on him for now.”

Anyway, since I’ve already let 2 people go, letting one more wouldn’t make a difference.

Based on this thought, Noah ignored Medea (Caster)’s angry shouts from the connection and generously waved his hand.

“You can leave, let’s fight another time.”

Iskandar (Rider) also noticed the carefree attitude in Noah’s eyes and couldn’t help but smile wryly and shake his head.

I, the great Conqueror, have become a mere extra?

Although he felt frustrated, Iskandar (Rider) followed Artoria as she carried Sola-Ui away, keeping a low profile.

“Rider? What are you following me for?”

“Ah, didn’t I say? My Master and your Master are master and disciple, and I met him just before I came here.”

    “…You never said that!”

After the dust settled, and they were alone, Noah let out a sigh as he looked at the ruined Matou residence, then silently shouldered Tohsaka Tokiomi and headed towards Enzou mountain as the sun set.

After entering Ryūdō Temple, the first person Noah met was not Medea (Caster) or Matou Zouken, but Matou Kariya, who rushed out from the temple to the front yard.

He looked at Tohsaka Tokiomi’s corpse, and his expression was a complex mix of emotions that couldn’t be put into words.

There was sadness, anger, confusion, helplessness, and perplexity.

Noah felt that he could somewhat understand Matou Kariya’s feelings.

For Matou Kariya, who had never seen his mother and was controlled by Matou Zouken, Tohsaka Aoi was like a sister and a mother, and Tohsaka Tokiomi, whom he both envied and admired, was like an arch-nemesis and a father figure.

It was only natural that he would be bewildered by his sudden death.

“What do you plan to do with him?”

Matou Kariya took a long time to tear his gaze away from Tohsaka Tokiomi’s corpse, glanced at a certain part of the temple, and shook his head with a sigh.

“I…I don’t know, maybe don’t let Sakura see him for now…”

Before Matou Kariya could finish speaking, a scream echoed through the sky.

    “Tokiomi!!”

Out of nowhere, Tohsaka Aoi appeared and shoved the two apart, throwing herself onto Tohsaka Tokiomi’s body, wailing and weeping bitterly, her tears falling like the petals of a pear blossom in the rain.

Sigh, now you know how precious life is, don’t you?

Look at you, still being tsundere.

Shaking his head, Noah grabbed Matou Kariya, who had a “help me out, bro” expression, and tossed him at Tohsaka Aoi.

“What the…! Noah, you’re scheming against me!”

    Hmph, help you?

Who’s going to help me, anyway?

You’d better placate Tohsaka Aoi first, then let this tsundere old woman go cry to Matou Sakura about her troubles.

Otherwise, I’ll have to bother with that little girl’s problems later.

Not wanting to get involved in this melodrama, Noah turned around, sat down in the corridor, and finally felt relieved.

“How could you do this? Letting his wife see her dead husband like that is just cruel. You should’ve given her some time to process.”

Medea (Caster), who appeared from behind the door, tried to maintain her composure but ultimately couldn’t help rolling her eyes in a rather elegant manner.

However, her face was hidden deep within her hood, making it impossible to see her expression.

“You’re really good at twisting the truth, aren’t you? You know that resolving this now is for the best, but if we drag it out, that woman will end up resenting us. And now you’re playing the hero?”

Noah didn’t retort, simply stretching his waist with a sense of relief.

Seeing Noah’s nonchalant attitude, Medea (Caster) gritted her teeth, but she also knew that the situation was already set in motion, and saying more would be pointless.

Moreover, Medea (Caster) didn’t come here just to deal with this melodrama; she had other important matters to attend to.

“Hey, come with me for a bit; I need to talk to you about something.”

Sensitive to the gravity in Medea (Caster)’s voice, Noah raised an eyebrow.

They arrived at a large cavern beneath Ryūdō Temple, where countless patterns covered the rocky walls, spreading out in all directions and adding an air of mystery to the underground space.

    “What is this?”

Before Medea (Caster) could speak, Noah sensed something off and looked towards a large stone block with a Mana convergence, which seemed to connect to the top of the cavern.

The block appeared ordinary, but Noah felt as though he saw a distorted, eerie void.

From it emanated a scorching, heavy darkness, filled with endless hatred and malice.

Noah struggled to describe this sensation, but it resembled the chaotic darkness within his Inherent Barrier.

“You can indeed sense it, can’t you?”

For some reason, Medea (Caster) stood behind Noah, glancing nervously at the stone block, or rather, the space before them.

It was probably when you activated your Inherent Barrier that I, through the Magic Circle set up on the Ryūdō Temple Leyline, discovered a strange and eerie feeling here, it’s terrifying, especially for a Servant.

    Is it that terrifying?

Turning his head, Noah gazed at Medea (Caster) with an unusual expression, feeling that there was a hint of fear in her tone.

“Hey! What’s with the look? You think I’m just scared?”

    …Isn’t that the case?

Noah thought for a moment and decided to give Medea (Caster) some face.

    “So, did you find anything?”

“Of course! After searching through all the records of the Holy Grail War in the Matou Zouken, I finally figured out what’s going on!”

Medea (Caster) proudly lifted her head, revealing her pale and delicate chin from under the hood, exuding a ‘come and ask me’ aura.

Noah thought for a moment… and decided to take a step towards the stone pillar.

However, just as he stepped on the Ground pattern, he was pulled back by Medea (Caster), who grabbed his collar.

    “Hey! What are you doing…”

Medea (Caster)’s scolding was cut off because she was staring wide-eyed at the anomaly in front of her.

Waves of light, like ripples, spread from the center of the cave’s giant stone, along the patterns, and emanated outward in all directions, with intense Mana fluctuations dispersing in all directions.

The negative wave that made her heart skip a beat became even stronger, with a feeling that her heart was about to stop.

    Until…

    “Huh?”

As Noah’s voice rang out, the rippling light waves froze and then receded in an instant.

The scene looked like a chaotic retreat to Medea (Caster).

She was completely stunned, and didn’t even notice that her hood had been blown off by the Mana gust, revealing her exquisite and delicate face, with a hint of cuteness.

It wasn’t until Noah slapped her face several times that she came back to her senses.

“You, how did you do that?”

Facing the bewildered Medea (Caster), Noah looked even more perplexed.

“Do what? What did I do?”

Medea (Caster) pulled out an enormous notebook that didn’t seem to fit in her cloak and began to explain to Noah.

In the Three Noble Families, the Einzbern, who excel at Alchemy and doll-making, are not skilled in combat and suffered greatly in the first 2 Holy Grail Wars.

So during the third Holy Grail War, the Einzbern Family secretly executed an illegal Summon, resulting in an out-of-spec Servant class, Avenger, Angra Mainyu.

However, Avenger turned out to be unexpectedly weak.

On the 4th day after the Holy Grail War began, Angra Mainyu was defeated and reclaimed by the Holy Grail, which then became tainted, generating a strong Malice.

…Is there really such a thing in Matou Zouken’s notes?

Why have I never seen this before?

Realizing his attention was a bit off, Noah shook his head and discarded the thought, then took another step forward.

    “Hey! You! Be careful?!”

Ignoring Medea (Caster)’s warning from behind, Noah slowly approached the strange position that drew him in.

The closer he got, the clearer the feeling in his heart became.

It was an extreme hatred, as if it had endured all the suffering and disasters of the world, wishing to destroy all living beings.

However, as Noah walked, he suddenly felt that hatred ripple unexpectedly.

And with his approach, the Magic patterns throughout the cave began to glow once more.

But this time, the speed of these ripples was different from the previous oppressive slow acceleration; it was quite Distorted and intense.

    It felt like… fear, anger?

Like a cat puffing up its fur, warning him not to come closer.

Finally, he arrived in front of a Light Sphere that had appeared out of nowhere, tilting his head to examine it.

For some reason, Noah always felt a bit uncomfortable looking at this thing.

Clearly, it was their first meeting, and they had no connection, yet Noah felt as if he were looking at a hapless child failing to live up to expectations.

After thinking for a moment, he reached out… and gave the Light Sphere a hard slap.

“You spineless thing, what are you barking for?”

For a moment, both inside and outside the cave fell into an inexplicable silence.
