Chapter 128 Flame of Karmic Debt

Logically speaking, I should still be at the bottom of the Large Hole under Ryūdō Temple, right?

Since that’s the case, how did this place become so big?

Noah lifted his head and looked at the deep crimson sky, as if soaked in blood, with only the black sun emitting a scarlet glow shining.

At his feet, was a vast expanse of Black Mud, like the sea surface, occasionally rippling with waves.

But the feeling of standing on it was as solid and stable as ordinary ground.

    However, that wasn’t the point.

Before Noah, Angra Mainyu had already merged with the Black Mud again, transforming into a gigantic and grotesque flesh and blood creature.

Dark red flesh surged, red scales overlapped like flower petals, and fascia emitted a crimson glow.

Besides that, he was constantly merging with the Black Mud flowing out from the black sun in the sky, making his body even more massive and grotesque, and opening countless Pupils.

    “Tremble, humanity…”

The massive flesh was rapidly multiplying every second, even making the invisible boundary of the sky feel cramped.

Countless mouths opened, emitting eerie screams that vibrated the air.

Noah heard a voice that sounded like Angra Mainyu, but much more chaotic, filthy, complex, and vast.

It was as if countless men, women, old and young were all speaking at once, causing his ears to buzz.

“I have been imprisoned for 60 years, and now I am finally free, yet you dare to humiliate me… You are courting death!”

Flowing out from the sky gates was not only the overwhelmingly huge Evil of This World, but also a mysterious and profound colorless glow.

Because this glow was covered by the Evil of This World, only Angra Mainyu noticed it and understood that its essence was knowledge from beyond the world.

Whether that was the ultimate goal sought by Magus, and the purpose behind the creation of the Holy Grail War, Angra Mainyu wasn’t sure.

But he could be certain that as the central hub of the Great Holy Grail System, Third Magic was indeed shining (Gilgamesh).

Just knowing that knowledge caused his internal factors to undergo a change.

What kind of Change this was, and what result it would lead to, whether it was good or bad, Angra Mainyu had no idea.

    The only thing he

Meanwhile, the infinite Mana from beyond the world was being transmitted endlessly to Angra Mainyu’s body through the gate.

The combination of the two made Angra Mainyu feel better than ever before.

The pain and darkness of being slapped and betrayed by Black Mud were fading away, and a beautiful future where the world would be completely engulfed in a blazing hell was unfolding before him!

And Angra Mainyu decided to start by dissecting the small thing in front of him!

    Devour him!

    Consume him!

    Dissolve him!

As long as I obtain that pure and boundless primordial darkness, I will become incredibly powerful!

Not only will I destroy humanity on Earth, but the entire world will also fall into ruin!

The desire that had been stirring in Angra Mainyu’s mind when he still had his sanity could no longer be suppressed after his life underwent a transformation!

“Unite with us! This time, I will obtain the entire world!”

Looking at the countless twisted and sliding tentacles, Noah couldn’t help but feel a chill run down his spine.

“I hate this kind of sticky thing the most! Can’t you understand?”

Raising his hand, a silver longsword appeared in his palm, and its clear and piercing sound pierced through the endless noise and chaos, echoing in the Dark World.

Angra Mainyu thought that Noah was still using his old tricks, wanting to use that bizarre lightning that made him tremble with fear, and couldn’t help but let out a sneer.

“Hah! Useless! This time, I will absolutely not lose!! I will win!!”

Although the Dark Blue Arc dealt enormous damage to him, Angra Mainyu believed that with the endless Mana he obtained from the gate, he could wear Noah down.

However, instead of the usual Dark Blue Arc appearing on Noah’s body, he first narrowed his eyes and looked at Angra Mainyu with a leisurely expression.

“Oh? Is that so? Then I hope you can last a bit longer, since I’ve finally found an opponent who can withstand this move… don’t die too quickly, okay?”

    Huh?

Even though his mind was filled with countless desires and thoughts, making his thoughts a bit muddled, Angra Mainyu still felt a sense of eerie unease at this moment.

His entire body, as well as every part of the Dark World, began to tremble violently.

A strong fear that he had never experienced before, as if he had encountered a natural enemy, arose.

    How could this be?

I (we) am the embodiment of all evil, hatred, and darkness in the world, the ultimate evil that devours and corrupts all living things; how could there be an existence that makes us feel afraid?

Even the primordial darkness only made the Evil of This World feel powerless.

The next moment, his/their confusion was resolved.

In the infinitely deep and dark paradise, a bright light suddenly appeared.

This faint light, although extremely weak, pierced through the endless darkness, as if it had reached every corner of this world, radiating a faint warmth.

The root of all this was the Flame that had emerged on Noah’s body.

Its flame color was as vivid as blood, its shape like an exotic flower blooming and withering, and its power like a small, flickering candle in the wind.

However, the moment this Flame appeared, the countless evil intentions in the Dark World were like boiling hot oil poured into icy water, instantly erupting in a frenzy.

Countless screams erupted, like the wailing of a million evil ghosts, even causing the dark space to tremble slightly.

Noah’s silver-white long sword, now seemed to be dyed with the same fiery light, slowly transforming into a Blood Color.

The silent sorrow was the last strength that Noah’s world could muster, forged in the last empire’s destruction, with the world on the brink of destruction.

Or, it could be said that it was the final brilliance of civilization, created by all living beings in that world, just before its collapse.

The divided sword held hatred and hope, thunder and the Flame of Karmic Debt, both a savior and a destroyer, connecting the future and the end.

It was responsible for destroying all living beings with a fierce flame when the world reached its end, burning away the evil Karmic Debt, and returning everything to the original Void.

It was also responsible for, at the beginning of the world, separating the chaos with thunder, dividing the four seasons, and determining the order of living beings.

This strength was so extreme that even though Noah controlled it, its internal power had never been fully unleashed.

Because if it weren’t for the world already falling into endless darkness and evil, even Noah wouldn’t be able to activate the internal destructive power of the Flame of Karmic Debt to restart the cycle.

It might not be able to surpass the world born from the Root in terms of quantity, but at least in terms of status, it could still suppress the face of the Evil of This World.

“No! Don’t! Calm down! You mustn’t do this!!”

Amidst the terrified screams of countless malicious thoughts within Angra Mainyu, or the Evil of This World, Noah lifted the Blood Color longsword in hand, gently swinging it down towards the front.

Noah’s movements were light, almost as if he were painting with delicate strokes, completely devoid of the previous fierce strength in his sword swings.

Yet the void trembled slightly where the sword passed, followed by the blooming of exquisite, deep red sparks akin to art pieces made of colored glaze.

Just like the Dark Blue Arc, these deep red sparks bloomed silently, quietly flourishing, withering, and falling in waves, even absorbing the Thunderous Roar of the dark playground like a sound-absorbing sponge.

Then, one of these sparks, or rather a wisp, a speck, much like the unextinguished ember that falls from a burning candle, silently dropped into the Black Mud waves.

Witnessing this, the colossal form of Angra Mainyu curled up instantly, like an octopus thrown into a boiling pot.

Yet, throughout this process, the massive body, whose mere actions could make the Dark World tremble, moved without making a single sound.

Angra Mainyu fled with an agility unbecoming of its form, rapidly dashing towards the distance.

In the blink of an eye, it had fled to a great distance, at least from Noah’s perspective, shrinking from a towering skyscraper to the size of a grain of rice.

However, this speed was unable to escape the coverage of the scarlet Flame of Karmic Debt.

The Flame of Karmic Debt, which was about to be extinguished, upon touching the Evil of This World, instantly rooted, sprouted, and spread like a seed falling into fertile soil, eventually blooming into a dazzling scarlet blaze.

Then, one turned into 2, 2 into 4, layer upon layer spreading throughout the Dark World.

If one watched the spread of these scarlet flames, it would seem like a slow-motion clip from an agricultural educational film about flower cultivation.

But once one came to their senses, the entire Dark World had been painted into a blazing, scarlet Purgatory!

The filthy Evil of This World had all turned into fuel, struggling to stir up tumultuous waves, only causing the scarlet sparks to bloom even more brilliantly.

The vivid red Blazing Fire not only spread in all directions but also surged upwards along the Black Mud that poured down from the dark sun, flooding into the gateway of the Otherworld.

The Blazing Fire billowed and distorted the space, emitting a fierce glow that painted the sky with countless colors in a frenzied halo.

Like the aurora, it was profound and solemn, yet grand and beautiful.

In what might have been an instant or an eternal wait, the halo was filled with the shrill cries of millions, indistinguishable by species, gender, or age, merging into a brilliant white wall of death…

Then, the never-ending dark paradise slowly began to crumble apart.

    Hm?

Back in the real world, Noah found it unexpectedly that someone claimed he had been devoured by the Evil of This World.

What the bean, do they look down on me that much?

Do they want to kill me even without the world-ending disaster?

What kind of joke is this!

But after hearing that seemingly solemn voice that somewhat repulsed Noah, he knew who the rumor-monger was.

    Hey!

    Scáthach!

    Don’t sleep!

    Time to get to work!

The crowd outside the Large Hole also felt the intense Mana fluctuations produced by the burning Evil of This World and were startled, stopping their actions to look towards the sky.

They saw the vivid red Flame surging upwards against the Black Mud, flooding into the dark red hole in the sky.

Then, with the Mana storm sweeping in all directions, a strong and profound flame, like Blood Color, illuminated the surroundings, lighting up Fuyuki City like a sun.

This Flame was so intense and massive that logically, even high up in the kilometer-high sky, it should have radiated down thousands of degrees of heat, incinerating everything.

Yet, strangely, the bright red glow was so dazzling it nearly blinded the eyes, yet it seemed to carry no heat at all.

Moreover, as the intensely hot Evil of This World flowed down, a large area of trees on Enzou mountain had already been ignited, causing a roaring blaze.

But when the vivid red Flame fell with the Evil of This World into the valley and burned up the Black Mud, the Flame quickly extinguished instead.

Only the charred earth and the smell of gunpowder in the air remained, spreading around, undispersed even by the strong winds.

That Flame seemed to hold no heat at all… This was just Kotomine Kirei’s own sensation.

Protected by Avalon, Artoria felt nothing unusual either.

Suspended high in the air, facing the brilliant crimson glow, Gilgamesh felt his Mana surging wildly, even his Core and soul throbbed violently.

It was a fear that arose from the depths of life, the most instinctive dread imaginable.

    Absolutely!

    Absolutely!

    Absolutely!

He must not be touched by that Flame!

Even if tainted by the Evil of This World, Gilgamesh was confident he could maintain his sense of self.

But he believed that if he were to touch that Flame, his soul would be purified entirely!

Yet, despite his longing to drive his chariot to the end of the horizon, Gilgamesh could only follow the Command Spell’s directive,

For the command was complex, and Kotomine Kirei had used 2 Command Spells to ensure safety!

    Damn you, Kotomine Kirei!

    You have led me astray!

Kotomine Kirei paid no heed to the King of Heroes’ inner turmoil, for he had already set his eyes on Noah.

After all, standing amidst the Blazing Fire, radiating a Shiny glow, one would have to be blind not to notice Gilgamesh!

His heartbeat quickening, without a second thought, he activated the Command Spell with a speed he had never mustered before.

“By the Command Spell, Acher! Launch an attack on the Berserker!”

After speaking, Kotomine Kirei slightly relaxed, then immediately turned and fled without hesitation.

He relaxed not because he knew he was safe, but because he knew he could escape at the cost of Gilgamesh’s sacrifice.

In the past, Kotomine Kirei was not afraid of death.

Oh, he’s still not afraid now.

But now, understanding the ultimate pleasure he sought… after the world’s destruction, how could he bear to give up halfway?

Even if it meant dying, his life should be given for the grand cause of world annihilation!

Thus, with a deathly pale complexion, yet a trace of relief, Gilgamesh launched his attack on Noah.

    Enough, I’m tired.

    Let it all end.

True to Gilgamesh’s expectations, as the Noble Phantasm rained down beside Noah, the roaring Flame followed the trail of Mana in the air, engulfing him.

From now on, I absolutely will not participate in the Holy Grail War again!
