    Chapter 18 Join

Loki slowly nodded, Riveria finally let go of her last lingering doubts.

“That’s the same as saying you can deceive a god. No need to overthink it.”

As for Noah not clarifying his identity, Riveria didn’t see anything wrong with that either.

In Elaria, almost everyone had their own secrets and pasts.

“Hmm, okay, I accept your answer then. Foreigner, we’re now friends. First off, thank you for saving our little brat.”

He gave Ais a mischievous grin while looking at Noah’s expression, transforming from seeing ‘an unknown identity, an unknown enemy’ into seeing ‘a very interesting Mortal of the Lower Realm’.

Just that expression seemed to have… a bit of humor?

“So, you’re sure you want to join our Familia? Even though you don’t admit it, I think the Familia of Freya might actually be stronger than ours.”

    Noah accepted the term “foreigner.”

After all, foreign meant foreign. Foreign to another World was still foreign.

“Yes, I want to join Loki Familia. As for why not choose the Familia of Freya… one reason is that I don’t like their internal Atmosphere, and two, the strongest Familia doesn’t necessarily mean it’s always the strongest.”

    Noah gazed intently at Loki.

“……I joined. So does that make Loki Familia the strongest Familia?”

In the long silence, Loki suddenly laughed.

    That wasn’t just a “god’s” laugh—it was Loki’s laugh, a dangerous smile like that of a viper.

“Interesting! I haven’t met someone as interesting in ages! I’ll take you!”

Chief God’s words had barely left his mouth when the breathtaking Elf Princess automatically glanced at Noah, bit her lip, and still opposed the idea.

“Wait a minute! Loki! Shouldn’t we discuss this with Finn first? Isn’t it a bit hasty?”

The gods were causing trouble for their own Familia due to various Premonition-like behaviors, leading Familias to lose face and clean up the mess or work hard to pay off debts. In Elaria, this had become almost routine.

Loki was stubborn, but when it came to Familia matters, he was very considerate and respectful of the opinions of the three Familia leaders.

Especially when it comes to bringing in newbies, the reliability of Familia companions is crucial for Loki Familia, which frequently launches expeditions and breaches the deepest level of dungeons.

On Deep Floor, even a slight mistake could lead to a dangerous situation where Familia might be wiped out. Any issue with one member—whether it’s a frontliner getting injured, logistics failing, or conflicts with teammates—could result in massive casualties.

Therefore, every time Loki brings in a newbie, he at least lets Finn inspect them beforehand.

    How this time…

“Ha?! Now that’s the AlfTime considering? If Finn comes back during this time, what are we supposed to do with him?”

Like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum on the street for candy, Loki once again showcases the gods’ tendency to be stubborn and glares at Noah.

“Hey! Kid! Joining Familia means you’re part of our Familia. Do you know what Familia means? No matter when, we will never tolerate betrayal or abandonment of Familia. If you ever betray or abandon Familia, even if you run through all the Mortal World and get sent back to godhood, we’ll make sure to kill you! And after ascending to heaven, we’ll drag your soul back for tormenting! Do you understand?”

Noah is curious: If he leaves this world again, will Loki still be able to catch him?

Seeing Noah bow his head in thought, Loki expresses a shocked expression as if to say, “You’re actually considering this.”

“Hey! Kid! What are you hesitating about?”

“Hmm, I’m thinking about whether I can uphold your policy of never betraying Familia at any time. But the result is that it’s a bit difficult.”

    “Ha?!!”

Not only Loki roared, but Riveria and Ais also looked surprised.

“I can only guarantee I’m alive to uphold the Familia policy. But what happens after I die is not something I can decide.”

Noah has long since outgrown his belief that all difficulties in life could be overcome with a sword.

Rescuing one individual is far more difficult than killing one.

Hearing the silver-haired boy’s response, the three Elf females—all Elves—fell silent and then revealed their sinister expressions.

“Kid, you’re really good at manipulating the hearts of Elf females! If you ever lay a hand on any other girl in the team, I won’t spare you!”

    “Ah?”

Evaluated as a scumbag, Noah truly showed confusion and surprise this time.

Don’t say that you’re a piece of trash, Noah hasn’t even touched an Elf girl in any scene besides the Battle. Just grab her hand already.

But LokiFundamental isn’t planning to explain anything, just waves his hand and walks deeper into the corridor.

    “Come with us!”

This time, Riveria didn’t stop him. She just stood there with her arms crossed, glaring at him as if he had done something really bad.

The Ais next to her also had the same expression, but their little faces were a bit red.

Confused Noah had no choice but to quickly follow Loki’s footsteps towards the deeper part of Twilight Manor.

Twilight Manor is made up of many towers connected by floating corridors, hence its nickname “Main Manor.”

In the center of all other towers and at the highest level of the main tower, there’s a place called the “Divine Chamber,” where Chief God Loki lives.

After climbing the entire spiral staircase of the tower, Noah followed Loki to the top floor and entered a room.

The room is very spacious but filled with random items. The door is blocked by stacks of Eight Gates wine bottles, and there’s still half-full glasses on the table.

However, Loki doesn’t seem to care about his own room being inspected. He just pulled up the curtains over the bed and gestured for Noah to get undressed.

“Ha ha ha, take off your shirt and lie on the bed.”

Noah doesn’t like anyone touching his Body, or should I say he refuses any physical contact with others.

Because it’s hard to say when an Enemy might attack him or through what method.

However, using the Deep Breathing Technique, Noah overcomes his strange feelings and doesn’t say much. He takes off his long sword and removes a jacket that has several holes.

Unlike when he was skinny during undressing, Noah’s Body is fair-skinned but covered with smooth, well-formed muscles.

But on the skin, there are various scars, making him look somewhat intimidating.

After turning around and lying down on the bed, Loki looks at his back.

Compared to his chest with all those scars, Noah’s back is smooth like an Elf girl’s.

But because of that, a few cuts stand out more.

Loki has seen many Adventurer’s backs and can immediately tell if the injuries were caused by a dagger, short sword, or stiletto—weapons that are relatively short and thin.

Basically, it’s an attack coming from behind…

    This guy…

However, Loki looked at him for a moment before his crimson eyes narrowed into a crescent shape and he jumped directly behind Noah, slapping his palms with a “slap” sound.

“Huh huh, you look really slim when you’re dressing. Surprisingly, your figure is surprisingly good! Honestly, you’re so handsome that I’m wondering if you’re just skin and bones!”

Noah didn’t know how to respond, so he closed his eyes and waited quietly.

“Mortal World is full of mystery and the unknown! You could actually give birth to someone like me! Just don’t let me down!”

Without hesitation, Loki pricked his finger with a needle and smeared Ichor on Noah’s back before meticulously drawing the Hieroglyphs of the Gods and Rite.

After a flash of light, Loki looked at the sacred text etched into Noah’s back and couldn’t help but open his narrowed eyes, letting out an excited animal-like laugh.

“Roar roar roar! Isn’t that like winning the lottery?!”

“Huh? Did I count my eye openings too many times today?”
