Chapter 20 Riveria very hurts the head
Surrounded by the walls of Grand City, Orario experiences nightfall earlier than the outside world.
By the time the Sunset colors the Western sky crimson-red, the Magic Stone lights have already been lit throughout the city.
In this unsafe era, most residents return home early, while Adventurers linger in and out of taverns.
Following Loki’s principle that “breakfast and dinner must be eaten together,” members who are still patrolling as part of Guild Missions return to the Familia main camp. Whether they are busy with other Familia business during the day, adventuring in Dungeons, or heading to the Guild, everyone returns to the Familia main camp.
Twilight Manor is made up of seven towers surrounding a central tower, connected by stone air corridors.
Due to Chief God’s stubborn hobby, Loki Familia can be said to have more women than men. Therefore, the seven towers are divided into three for males and four for female Elves.
Facilities like libraries and dining halls are not concentrated in one place but spread across the towers, creating a chaotic appearance.
Now, whether discussing the day’s events, planning tomorrow’s activities, or complaining about troubles encountered during Missions… various conversations echo through these places.
Amidst the noise throughout Twilight Manor, a surprised cry came from an office high up in the due north tower.
“What’s going on? This Magic and skill!”
A huge, comically distorted face almost touches the table, with copper-like eyes bulging out even more. The dwarf is caring for his younger relatives like an older sibling, respected and cherished by Familia members.
Although not a Vice Captain, he treats them as family and is revered and cared for by Familia members.
A level 5 Adventurer named Gareth Landrock, who has been granted the “Heavy Chosen” title by the Chief God, gazes at his own Chief God.
“Hey, Loki, are you sure about this?”
Sitting on the sofa, Loki kicks his legs out and slants a look at Gareth before snorting in response.
Gareth scratches his head and turns to look at Pallum, the golden-haired member beside him.
“Finn? What do you think?”
Finn, nearly forty years old but still maintaining a youthful appearance due to Pallum’s nature and Falna level, returns from his thoughts.
Generally speaking, the Falna data of Adventurers, including Ability Value, Magic, and Skills, are kept as a secret between Familia Head God and the Adventurer themselves. This is because
Orario is not an ideal utopia. It has dangers, such as dark factions hiding in every corner and frequent enemy Familia attacks in Dungeons.
If individualAbility data leaks out, Adventurers are at a high risk of being targeted by enemy Familias’ offensive arts, significantly increasing their chances of death.
Therefore, Adventurers only need to reveal their level and Dungeon exploration layer. Even some less intense battles within Familia don’t tell the team leader.
However, Loki Familia is often sent to explore the deepest floors of Dungeons as one of the first lines of exploration. Finn and his three officers have a need or obligation to know about each member’s situation.
Therefore, after seeking Noah’s approval, Loki handed over the data to the three of them for review.
However, even Finn, who had encountered many skills and Magic before, had never seen anything quite like this.
After glancing at the data on paper again, Loki Familia’s team leader sat in a chair that was oddly out of place compared to his small stature and nodded slowly.
“Well, I can only say I’m surprised. Honestly, it reminds me of those Monsters from seven years ago…”
The Monsters Finn referred to were not the ones found in Dungeons.
They were creatures that took human form but exceeded the limits of Monsters in their abnormality.
“This guy… Could he be a descendant of Ancient Heroes? No, it might even make him stronger!”
When Gareth mentioned ‘Ancient Hero,’ Finn’s gaze shifted toward the stone fireplace on the opposite wall.
Hanging above the fireplace was a tapestry woven with gold and silver thread.
The pattern depicted a woman surrounded by guns, axes, and swords, wearing armor.
She is Fianna, the Goddess of Fiction that the Dwarves of the River tribe worship.
If the prologue to the Age of Heroes was opened by Argos, the “Joker,” then the main theme of the Age of Heroes was shaped by the Knights of Fianna, a group composed entirely of Dwarves.
That was the Dwarves’ first and last glory.
Even after Pallum fell from its position as a god in the Age of the Gods, the Knights of Fianna were dematerialized into the concept of Fianna, which all worshiped.
For Finn, who had been dedicated to restoring Pallum’s Ancient Glory, it was impossible for him to remain indifferent when he saw a potential “Ancient Hero descendant” standing before him.
“Well, from the trips I’ve made, Familia is really lacking a strong frontline core. Originally, I planned to wait until AisGrowth matured, but now it seems we’re in a bit of a pinch. As long as he grows up…”
“Gareth, this might be coming too early. Even an Adventurer at level 1 is quite weak without guidance and protection.”
Pallum’s leader and the Dwarf warrior exchanged glances, their expressions subtly shifting as their gazes turned toward a silent Elf Princess inside the room.
When Gareth mentioned “guidance and protection,” Riveria, who had been deep in thought, subconsciously tensed up and met their gazes.
“Wait… Could it be me?”
Finn shrugged and spread his hands, revealing a playful smile he would never show to the team members.
“Well, there’s not much we can do about that. After all, you already have experience teaching newcomers.”
The Dwarf uncle beside him also broke into a sly grin, even his large teeth were visible.
“Is that right? Is that right? This kid is really promising. Riveria, you’ve been complaining about how the Elves can’t get protected on the front lines for a while now. If this kid grows up, there won’t be any problems.”
From just looking at their levels, Loki Familia only has three lv5 adventurers and one lv6 adventurer compared to Freya’s four lv5 adventurers and five lv4 adventurers. However, both families are considered the two major factions by outsiders.
The reason for this phenomenon is Magic!
Besides the strongest Arcanist in Europe, Loki Familia also has a magic team composed of Elves.
In Europe, only Magic is believed to be able to surpass level restrictions and surpass Advanced Adventurer’s abilities.
Many adventurers believe that if the two major families were to go to war, then if “the berserker” and others couldn’t kill Princess Nine before her magic preparation was complete, Freya Familia would only have their first four adventurers survive.
Therefore, the two families can be on par with each other not because they are completely equal in levels but because both sides have abilities that can eliminate each other.
But……
“Who wants to die with them?”
Every time Riveria hears those compliments about how she can eliminate Freya Familia, she doesn’t feel happy at all.
However, Loki Familia is not like Freya Familia in having a strong front line. This is an undeniable fact.
After all, Finn has to lead the charge, and Gareth provides adequate defense, but their speed is lacking, and Fundamental cannot fully support them.
During the expedition period, there have been many times when Monsters broke through the front line defenses, leading to casualties among the magic team.
So… she’s really happy that Loki Familia has someone like Noah, a strong Swordsman, joining them.
But every time she thinks about having kids again… it’s either a mature-looking child who might be just as troublesome as Ais, Riveria feels headaches on both sides of her forehead.
