Chapter 39 Floor 17
Having made up her mind, Riveria no longer hesitated.
If she couldn’t rein them in, then she had no choice but to join them in their adventure.
Moreover…
Sneaking a glance at Noah, Riveria averted her gaze, her lips curving into a crescent moon smile.
She had originally snuck out of Alfheim to explore the ‘unknowns’ of The World.
Did she really want to spend her days lecturing people, only to be teased for acting like an overbearing mother hen?
It was all the fault of the immature young ones in the Familia!
But now, with Noah, who would soon surpass her, leading the way, she probably wouldn’t have to worry so much anymore.
Now, Riveria was beginning to understand Finn’s Pleasure!
If she could be the Familia Captain, then taking on the role of the Familia’s First Mage should be a breeze as well, right?
While pondering how to lighten Ais’s load, Noah felt a familiar chill again.
Yes, again.
A very familiar sensation of dread.
Without any evidence, Noah still instinctively glanced at Riveria.
But Riveria had already looked away.
“Since you’re all so determined, let’s grab a bite and continue on. We’ll sell the cheap Magic Stones and Tools to another adventurer party at a bargain, then once we’re back up, we’ll have them take Falle to Twilight Manor.”
She helped Ais take off her backpack and began sorting and packing the Tools.
“You have 2 hours. Go as far as you can by then. After that, we must head back; we might not make it out of the Dungeon before dark.”
Although Riveria said it was a bargain sale, when she casually intercepted a Familia to negotiate, Noah was sure it was pretty much the standard market price.
If they sold at this price, it was like the Familia was helping them carry the Improving for free and even included a sale.
Yet, despite this, the Familia was overjoyed to hoist the Magic Stones and Tools onto their backs and start the journey back.
After a moment’s thought, Noah understood.
Magic Stones were all bought by the Guild, but Tools could be sold to other Familias for negotiation.
Of course, unless it was a rare Tool or Material from the Deep Floors, adventurers often couldn’t get the price they wanted.
After all, if you don’t sell, there are plenty of adventurers who will.
But with so many Tools dropping, it was a different story.

Nowadays, Orario’s Dungeon exploration activities are actually in a state of stagnation due to the interference of the Dark Faction, and even Familias with some strength are being sent on forced quests by the Guild, barely guaranteeing Orario’s output.
For production-type Familias, one or 2 Tool Materials can’t change much, but a large batch like this can sustain Familia production for a considerable amount of time, so offering some preferential prices is only reasonable.
Even if each Tool only brings in a small profit, with such a large quantity, it still amounts to a substantial income.
Noah, who started with a debt of 50 million Valis, looks down on this amount of money, but for medium and small-sized Familias, it can give them a relatively comfortable life.
This is probably why newcomers want to join large Familias.
In the early stages of becoming an Adventurer, the two biggest problems are lack of experience and money.
No matter how much potential an Adventurer has, they are extremely weak in the early stages, and the mortality rate is also the highest at this time.
Although there are occasional shocking cases of Advanced Adventurers dying on the Deep Floors, the number of Adventurers dying on the middle and upper floors far exceeds those on the Deep Floors.
Furthermore, relying on hunting monsters on the upper and middle floors to earn money and save up for equipment is a very time-consuming process for new Adventurers, considering that even Hephaestus Familia’s equipment starts at tens of thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of Valis.
The rapid wear and tear of cheap equipment will also slow down new Adventurers’ progress in saving up for better gear.
There are often unlucky Adventurers who, in an attempt to save money, use cheap equipment and end up dying in the Dungeon just when they’re about to save up enough.
In large Familias, however, these two problems can be well-resolved.
With Advanced Adventurers as seniors to guide and protect them, providing guidance, it’s unknown how much safer it is compared to relying solely on written guidance from Guild advisors.
Moreover, even if newcomers only support Advanced Adventurers and pick up the “trash” that their seniors don’t want, they can easily earn multiple times more than what same-level Adventurer teams would in the same amount of time.
These 2 advantages attract newcomers and, in turn, strengthen the powerful Familias.
With their burdens resolved, the 3 of them resumed their Dungeon exploration.
Or rather, they began their charge towards the lower floors.
As Dark Blue Arcs surged around him once more, Noah recklessly charged into a group of monsters, unleashing a one-sided slaughter – BOOM!
Like a thundercloud descending upon the abyssal pit, a barrage of deafening crackles accompanied by blinding flashes of light illuminated the surroundings, as an eerie blue glow engulfed the horizon.
In the aftermath of the thunderous boom, the monsters’ ferocious roars instantly turned into wails, only to be reduced to ashes in the explosion.
However, Noah remained focused on his objective, commencing a relentless assault while adjusting the mana currents swirling around him.
As the onslaught continued, the lightning arc gradually subsided, no longer radiating a dazzling brilliance that illuminated everything.
With the electric arc enveloping his body, Noah’s mana consumption drastically decreased, while his speed and defense surged significantly.
The silver-white blade, now shrouded in a dark blue arc, was instantly imbued with an icy crystalline hue.
Yet, this exquisite, art-like instrument, silently narrated its terror through the gruesome spectacle of strangulating dozens of monsters with a single stroke.
Occasionally, a ‘Dungeon Worm’ would burst through the walls, its gaping, abyssal maw lined with rows of razor-sharp teeth, poised to strike Noah.
Undaunted, Noah’s figure moved with fluid precision, slicing the disgusting monster, over ten meters in length, in 2 with the finesse of a skilled chef.
The middle-floor monsters, which had once brought Noah a sense of exhilaration in battle, now seemed utterly trivial under the magic blessing.
Even upon reaching the 17th floor, where he encountered the Minotaur, deemed the strongest normal monster in the mid-floors by the guild, the outcome remained unchanged.
Neither its skin, as tough as refined copper, nor its bulging, massive muscles could withstand a single slash from Noah’s sword.
As he continued to push forward, the caverns surrounding him expanded, with fewer branching paths and increasingly wider, more majestic roads.
The frequency of monster appearances also plummeted, as if they were intimidated, suddenly dwindling in number.
This feeling was as if the dungeon was deliberately preparing for the emergence of a massive monster…
Upon arriving at a vast, expansive hall, Noah confirmed his suspicions.
The hall was a rectangular, flat structure composed of rough-hewn rocks.
However, the left wall’s construction was distinct, with a smooth, mirror-like surface of white stone, polished to perfection by some unknown craftsman.
In this setting, the beauty and cleanliness only served to evoke a strong sense of unease.
The Wall of Lamentations, where the floor master of the 17th floor, Goliath, was said to reside.
BOOM!
“Sigh, I suppose that’s it for today, we should head back, or who knows when we’ll be able to return to the surface.”
With a backpack that seemed even bulkier than before, Riveria judged that today’s exploration was finally coming to a close, and turned to take her leave.
However, there were no footsteps following behind her.
“Huh? Noah? Ais?”
With a puzzled expression, Riveria turned around, only to see Noah standing stock still, gazing intently at the distant Wall of Lamentations.
“Riveria, I recall that it’s been about half a month since Goliath was last defeated, hasn’t it?”
Upon seeing the faint, excited smile on Noah’s lips, a sense of foreboding suddenly arose in Riveria’s mind, like a BOOM!
of warning.
“Hey! Noah!”
