    Chapter 42 Girls Witness

“What are you kidding? Are you challenging Goliath?”

Right now, a match without a doubt, a real ‘fight’ is happening before the Asteria Familia.

The gigantic Giant roars looking up.

Even the long hall trembles violently because of it, causing countless rocks to fall down.

Goliath raises his Mastery Fist and slams it heavily on the gray stone slab in front of him.

Rocks fly everywhere, rocks rain down like projectiles toward its enemy.

That’s standing a hundred meters away, a silver-haired swordsman in silver armor.

His face is quite young, probably around 15 or 16 years old.

Even in armor, you can tell he has a slender build, and the long sword in his hand isn’t the kind of heavy sword, mace, or axe that Strength-type Adventurers usually use.

As far as the Asteria Familia members know, he should be like Ryu and Kaguya, a swordsman who mainly uses Speed and Agility in battle.

But that’s why, when he faced dozens or even hundreds of Colossal Stone Bullets, he didn’t run away, but instead raised his sword and slashed forward, which surprised the girls even more.

Even ordinary stones, under the Giant-type Monster’s Strength Blessing, are launched out with a BOOM!

    sound, whistling through the air.

Large rocks fall like a hailstorm onto the floor of the 17th-level hall, causing the originally relatively flat stone floor to instantly crack and break apart as if hit by a high-level Arcanist’s Magic attack.

Under that deafening offensive and the dust cloud that shot straight up to the ceiling, the silver-haired swordsman’s figure appeared incredibly small and insignificant, with all escape routes blocked.

But when the dust suddenly cleared, and they saw the silver-haired swordsman’s response, they were stunned.

Unable to run, then face the enemy head-on…… Even though they were hundreds of meters away, you could feel the declaration of intent in the energy momentum emanating from him.

And his actions…… The silver-haired swordsman, with arms that didn’t look particularly thick, swung his slender sword against the rocks!

A flash of silver light, and a huge rock was split in half, then smashed down on both sides of the silver-haired swordsman, engulfed in dust.

Before the sound of the metal blade cleaving through the rock echoed through the hall, the silver-haired swordsman had already swung his sword again,

Sword Qi crisscrossed, its might shaking the heavens and earth.

Whether spinning to slash or stepping to sweep…

Occasionally thrusting straight, sometimes gently parrying…

The long sword was no longer discernible, only a silver glow forming an impenetrable barrier of swords.

The colossal boulders and the slender swordsman, each time they passed by a hair’s breadth, it was heart-wrenching.

No one doubted that a single misstep by the silver-haired swordsman would result in severe injury from the immense strength within the boulders.

Yet even in such dire straits, the silver-haired swordsman showed no sign of retreat, standing firm like an anchor in a stormy sea, unmovable.

    No, not immobile, but advancing!

With astonishingly brilliant and proficient swordsmanship, and a fierce energy momentum that could be called reckless, the young swordsman, bathed in relentless bombardment, stepped closer to the giant through the fierce winds and dust.

The scene, to the girls of Asteria Familia, was identical to the image of a young swordsman in heroic epics charging towards a massive monster!

Watching heroic epics in the future, they knew what to imagine for the protagonist… Not just one, but many thought this.

Among the girls, Ryu could see even more.

Unlike the other members of Asteria Familia, Ryu remembered the first glance at the silver-haired swordsman on the northern street.

Those silent, mysterious eyes appeared in Ryu’s dreams several times in the first few days, puzzling her.

Those eyes held no malice, but something else that caught Ryu’s attention… Was it nostalgia?

    Or sorrow?

    Who is this individual?

Do we know each other already?

Why did he look at me like that?

It wasn’t until after the expedition, following intense battles, that these thoughts began to fade.

But now, Ryu saw this person again!

If there was any difference, it was that Ryu felt she saw a smile on his face!

Not tense fear, not gritted perseverance, not angry shouting, but a smile!

A joyful smile, an excited smile, a carefree smile!

    A wild smile!

    A smile full of desire!

Since coming to Orario from the Ryumirua Forest, Ryu had seen too many similar smiles.

On the faces of drunkards in taverns, patrons in the red-light district, big merchants in casinos… even on the faces of malicious underground factions, there were similar smiles.

But the laughter of those people is nowhere near as pure as the smile of the silver-haired swordsman before me… or should I say, dangerous!

This individual is very dangerous… The elf’s instincts led Ryu to make such a judgment in an instant.

It’s like getting too close to the sun will burn you; even if he has no malice, being too close will infect you with his will, and then you’ll be captured…

This point is clear just by looking at the shiny eyes of the other girls in the Familia, sparkling like Gilgamesh.

I need to stay away… Even so, I tell myself this in my heart, but I just can’t take my eyes off that tall figure.

Logically, I know that going head-to-head with the floor master in such a battle is foolish.

Yet, the way he treats life and death as nothing, swinging his sword to shatter everything, his heroic demeanor and skilled martial arts truly leave one mesmerized…

And amidst all those gazes, Noah remains oblivious to them, lost in the clash of strength against strength.

Whether it’s the thrill of smashing through obstacles or the soreness returning to his arm, along with the immense pressure felt in his legs, it all makes Noah feel invigorated and joyful.

Indeed, going toe-to-toe is the romance of a man!

From today onward, I will be a man who possesses not only technique but also strength!!

    However, this Goliath ends here.

This giant-type monster is probably the least impressive floor master in the dungeon.

Unable to summon minions or use special skills, relying solely on long-range stone throws, it has no real effect aside from its massive body.

Even in terms of strength, it can’t suppress Noah; one could say it has become utterly useless.

…But something feels off; I just can’t figure out what it is.

Anyway, let’s wrap up this battle quickly.

Another stone comes flying, and having grown tired of chopping them, Noah this time chooses not to shatter it but instead rests the blade against the side of the stone.

With a swift flick of his wrist, his body spins, sending the stone flying back to Goliath like a bird.

The giant, caught off guard, is struck in the eye by this blow, immediately covering his eye and letting out a roar.

Seizing this opportunity, Noah transforms into a shadow, reaching beneath Goliath in just a few breaths.

With a horizontal slash, the blinding silver light creates an illusion, effortlessly cutting through the monster’s massive right leg.

    “Aaaahhh!”

As Goliath crashed to the ground with a deafening BOOM, a massive amount of blood spurted out of its wounds.

Yet, not a single drop of blood landed on Noah, as if he was immune to the carnage.

With a powerful leap from the rocky wall, Noah charged at Goliath’s other eye with his sword at the ready, unleashing a devastating slash after storing up his Strength.

Take back what I said earlier – Goliath’s defense was ridiculously tough.

So, Noah decided to show some respect and go all out, giving it his all!

And with that, Goliath’s other eye was reduced to a bloody pulp, screaming in agony as it was torn apart.

However, just as Noah landed and adjusted his stance, preparing to launch his next Offensive Arts, something unexpected happened.

The floor boss, who should have fought to the death, was actually covering its eyes and making a run for it!

It was only then that Noah realized something was off – Goliath seemed to have been aware of his threat from the very beginning, standing by the wall and throwing rocks, never taking the initiative to attack.

Was it waiting for a chance to escape?

This thing might have had a bit of intelligence, but clearly not enough.

It was almost laughable – where did it think it could run to?

Was it going to take on Riveria?

That would be a suicidal move, plain and simple…

Noah’s expression turned pale as he caught sight of the dozen or so girls waiting by the exit to the lower levels.
