Chapter 50 Dude.
“Hmm, that’s quite the question, outta the blue…”
Noah looked at Ais, surprised, Discovered she was staring at him with unwavering eyes, as if he wasn’t allowed to leave without answering.
“Alright, so you helped me out just to get something in return, huh?”
“Ugh, yes, I’m sorry, wait?! But that, no…”
Ignoring Ais’s resistance and frustration, Noah ruffled her soft hair until it stood on end, then withdrew his hand, satisfied.
“Possessing enough talent, hard work and luck are all part of the equation to get here, I won’t deny that, but I can’t exactly teach you that…”
His palm caressed the sword hilt, Noah felt the cold metal, and slowly pondered.
“…If there’s anything that can help you, Ais, it’s to figure out what kind of person you really are.”
The cold wind on the city wall howled, Ais took a long time to fix her hair.
Hearing Noah’s clear voice cutting through the wind, Ais stopped what she was doing, tilted her head in confusion, her golden eyes filled with a kitten’s innocent bewilderment.
“Figure out, myself?”
“That might be a bit hard to understand, so let’s rephrase the question… Ais, what kind of person do you think I am?”
Meeting Noah’s sapphire eyes, deeper than the sky, Ais bit her lip, her face slightly flushed.
“I think Noah is very cool, makes delicious food, has great Swordsmanship, doesn’t smile but is very kind, and treats me well like Riveria and the others…”
Even in the cold wind, Ais felt her face flush and burn, and after she finished speaking, she couldn’t help but feel thirsty, nervously swallowing.
She felt like, if Noah said something like, ‘Oh my, Unexpectedly Ais likes me so much’, she might jump off the city wall!
Fortunately, Noah just looked at her quietly and listened, without doing or saying anything that would embarrass Ais.
“Looks, cooking, and Swordsmanship are definitely my 3 strong suits, but as for whether I’m kind or not… Well, I doubt Valetta thinks I’m a good person.”
Ais was sure she didn’t know her, but the name sounded familiar, like she’d heard it somewhere before.
“Valetta?”
“A member of the Dark Faction, the individual I Battled with, before you and I met, on the day I joined Loki Familia, was her.”
Then, Noah told her how he easily tricked Valetta and gave her a painful kidney shot.
After listening, Ais couldn’t help but burst out laughing, her voice a bit slurred from trying to stifle her giggles.
“That guy, what a dimwit.”
As the sky lightened, it cast a colorful glow on the girl’s face, which was as delicate as a doll’s.
“Why do you think she’s a dimwit?”
“Because she was easily duped by Noah.”
“But what if I didn’t deceive her? Or, rather, not entirely?”
From Ais’s perspective, Noah’s face was half-shrouded in darkness as he stood with his back to the sky.
His deep blue eyes seemed to hold an unfathomable depth, making it impossible to read his thoughts.
“I’m a complex person, but essentially, I’m more like the Dark Faction – we do as we please, are reckless, and enjoy hearing others cry out in pain, despair, and desperation!”
Ais didn’t think Noah would harm her, but his low, smooth voice, which effortlessly cut through the fierce wind, made her heart skip a beat.
“If I had to differentiate myself from the Dark Faction, I’d say they enjoy killing the weak, whereas I find it pointless to kill those who can’t fight back…”
It was as if the seemingly calm, blue waters hid an infinitely deep and dark abyss beneath.
As Ais gazed into Noah’s eyes, she felt like she was being consumed by an endless, suffocating darkness.
“…Indeed, it’s more thrilling to bring down those who think they’re above others, to see them suffer and cry out in agony!”
Noah’s voice was light, but it sent shivers down Ais’s spine, like a n*ked baby left out in the cold, trembling uncontrollably.
Sensing Ais’s fear, Noah reached out and gently patted her head.
Feeling the warmth and faint, sweet scent that even the fierce wind couldn’t dispel, Ais’s heart calmed down.
Without a doubt, regardless of what kind of person Noah was, the time they spent together, the fact that he saved her and drew her in, was undeniably real!
Thinking about her earlier fear, Ais felt a pang of embarrassment.
Her heart racing, Ais’s body reacted before her mind could catch up – she rushed into Noah’s arms, wrapping her hands around his waist and burying her face deep into his stomach.
“Huh!”
The sudden hug caught Noah off guard, making his eyes twitch… This girl, not knowing her own strength, might have just knocked the wind out of him if he had eaten breakfast.
However, considering the girl had been frightened by him, Noah decided not to pursue the matter further.

“Ais, I used to be called a Hero, a Hero, a savior, someone who protected the weak, punished evil, and fought against demons. But you know what? After I gave it my all to kill that Enemy called the Demon King, I wasn’t as happy as I thought I’d be. I was actually kind of bummed out…”
Ais lifted her head from Noah’s arms, her big, round eyes fixed on him.
‘Why?’…… her eyes seemed to ask.
Patting Ais’s head to comfort her, Noah couldn’t help but reminisce about the past.
“Yeah, I wondered the same thing back then. Until my former comrades tried to kill me, I finally understood… Though there was some sadness and Pain, I was mostly thrilled, because I could finally get back into the Battle!”
Suddenly, a strong wind blew, and the silent forest in the distance rustled like ocean waves.
Birds flew in formation, soaring towards the sky, and the roars of wild beasts could be heard.
Accompanied by the city’s echoing bells, the morning glow broke through the clouds, painting the sky a magnificent crimson.
“When I was a kid, I thought the Heroic Epic stories about the protagonist battling to save the princess, avenge their Familia, and save The World were boring… It’s like, when you see a peak, you just want to climb it and conquer it! To Challenge the Demon King, slay Dragons, and face the gods, that’s an ideal that gets any boy’s blood pumping! Why do you need a reason?”
The wind is blowing.
It was a cold, azure wind flowing from the eastern sky, creating a huge wind instrument sound between the city walls.
In the Fierce Wind, the silver-haired boy stood beneath the vast sky, his face seemingly melted by the Light of the morning glow, exuding an extraordinary radiance.
“So, in the Battle lost and regained In an Instant, I finally remembered how I felt when I left the village and headed towards The World, facing the morning glow… Not to save others, not for revenge, not to get praise, I want to Challenge the Demon King, I just want to challenge The World’s strongest!”
