Multiverse Adventure – My Journey Begins in Danmachi 60

    Chapter 60 It’s all The World’s fault!

Peeping is wrong, and spying on the opposite sex while bathing is a double whammy of mistakes.

As an Elf, doing this is a sin that deserves divine retribution, so I should really just leave!

……That’s what Ryu thought in her heart, but her body wouldn’t listen, and her eyes couldn’t tear away from the scene before her.

Countless azure crystals cascading from the dome above sprinkled the silent forest with a soft blue glow.

In the clear pool surrounded by trees and mist, the water was so crystal clear that it reflected the countless crystals at the bottom, creating a sea of shimmering silver light.

This breathtaking view made Ryu reminisce about her hometown, that endless sea of trees swaying under the moonlight and evening breeze, and the vast holy lake reflecting the moonlit sky.

No, it wasn’t just the scenery; more importantly, it was the figure in the lake…

Soft silver hair wet from the water clung to the graceful curve of a long neck, with droplets trickling down the fair skin that revealed faint blue veins.

From the neck to the shoulders, and the muscles around the waist, there was nothing bulky about it.

But just as the word ‘youth’ suggests, it exuded a vitality of growth without being overly rough or bulky.

Not only was it full of elasticity and softness, but it also had a hint of youthful innocence.

With her second-tier Adventurer skills and excellent Elf eyesight, Ryu easily covered the 30-meter distance, taking in the entire scene before her.

As if a Clear Wind rippled the lake’s surface, and the dawn broke through the mist, a crack appeared in the heart of the Elf, filled with fatigue and anxiety, stirred by gentle ripples.

Thus, she instinctively let her guard down, responding with the primal reaction of someone who was extremely thirsty and exhausted.

That is, pursing her lips, and…

    “Gulp”

The faint sound of swallowing echoed through the forest, barely louder than the distant roar of flying monsters.

    But…

    ‘Oh no!’

Deep inside, it felt like a young Elf was wielding a wooden sword, furiously beating Ryu for her current embarrassment and lack of composure.

However, before Ryu could be consumed by this shame, an even stronger sense of danger surged!

    “Who’s there!”

Hearing a sound that definitely didn’t belong to the natural environment, Noah instinctively swung the weapon he had been holding in readiness before even looking towards the source.

It was a sharp point with a textured surface, displaying a dark gray metallic sheen.

Though unrefined, it still let out a piercing shriek in the air under Noah’s strength, like a demon’s wail.

Before the combat instincts honed over time could kick in, a more primal instinct deep within Ryu sounded a warning like a tolling bell.

    But there was no escaping!

Just like facing a Deep Floor’s ultra-powerful Monster that can render low-level Adventurers helpless with its ‘roar’, Ryu felt as if even his blood had frozen, watching the Offensive Arts come crashing down!

As Ryu seemed to see the flashback of his life and the branches of the sacred tree beckoning to him, a flash of silver light suddenly crossed his blurred vision!

Nearly identical to the scene from 7 days ago on the 17th floor, that silver figure, surpassing his own Offensive Arts, arrived at Ryu’s side a step ahead.

While slicing the Offensive Arts with a hand blade, Noah also pulled the blonde Elf into his embrace, knocking them both to the ground.

The splinters didn’t cease but scattered like countless bullets.

    “BOOM…”

Like a small meteor shower, smoke and dust exploded, the tremors echoing across the vast plains of the 18th floor.

Once the dust settled, the trunks, rocks, and ground within a dozen meters were pocked like a beehive.

    “That was close!”

Surveying the wreckage around, Noah remarked without a hint of self-awareness, as if the Offensive Arts weren’t his own doing.

After confirming the danger had passed, Noah looked down at the blonde Elf in his arms, locking eyes with the gaze similar in color to his own.

    “Are you okay?”

“…I’m in deep trouble! Huge trouble!!”

From the shape of Noah’s thin lips, Ryu could tell what he was trying to say.

He had to rely on lip-reading because his ears were now filled with a sharp, high-pitched ringing.

Moreover, Ryu felt his brain was like the stew Alise had this morning, nearly cooked through!

The reason was right before his eyes, wasn’t it?

Whether it was the boy’s clear, deep blue eyes, the captivating collarbone and Adam’s apple, or the hot breath blowing in his face, Ryu wished he could just faint on the spot.

But as before, the moist, fresh scent emanating from Noah kept Ryu’s consciousness from succumbing to the overwhelming shame, no matter how much it tortured him.

This allowed Ryu to vividly feel the slight movements in Noah’s chest during his Breathing Technique, as well as the temperature from their touching skin.

These sensations, like red-hot irons, branded Ryu’s skin, then transformed into electric currents surging through his body.

Unforgettable, this feeling will be etched in my memory for life!

In a daze, Ryou’s senses became even more acute, and she could feel her Body reacting… The unusual sensation she had tried so hard to suppress now seemed to be deeply ingrained, impossible to erase.

“Hey! What’s wrong? Are you okay?!”

Seeing the blonde Elf staring blankly at him with a gloomy expression, her sky-blue eyes clouded over, and even her normally perky ears drooping down, Noah was startled and hastily patted her face.

    What’s going on?

Has the Elf turned into a Goblin?

Although Ryou wanted to pass out, she couldn’t faint and instead quickly regained consciousness.

Looking at Noah, who was lying on top of her, her eyes were complex, as if she wanted to say something, but ultimately just let out a sigh.

“Mr. Cifer, thank you for saving me. I’m fine, but could you please get off me?”

In the corner of Ryou’s vision, she could see the chiseled muscles on Noah’s chest, and if she looked further down…

No, she didn’t dare to look any further.

As her vision caught a glimpse of his abs, Ryou closed her eyes under a strong sense of crisis.

If she looked any further, her eyes and blood vessels would probably explode!

No, to be exact, even after leaving Noah’s side, she would still explode.

Ryou was well aware that her current calmness was just an illusion.

The useless Elf’s state was actually being stored up, waiting for the inhibitor to disappear before erupting into a chaotic mess!

Should she find someone to prepare in advance, to knock her out when she loses her mind?

    Using Kaguya’s country’s phrase, it’s called a “mistaken person”?

Meanwhile, Noah was also curious about why the Elf from the neighboring Familia was so lethargic one moment and then suddenly back to normal the next.

However, the cold feeling he got when the wind blew against his skin made him refocus.

Although as a seasoned warrior, Noah didn’t mind a bit of privacy, the scene of him being n*ked and on top of a young girl was still a bit too embarrassing.

It was too much like being a criminal!

So, he quickly got up, flashed back into the jungle, and reappeared wearing clothes.

Ryou, still covering her face with a scarf, gazed listlessly at the ground crystal, not even lifting her head when she heard Noah approach.

“Mr. Cifer, why were you here?”

“Uh, I finished my training early today and had some time to spare, so I came to the 18th floor to take a look around. Then I saw a pool of water and decided to take a bath… and then…”

    Who can be blamed, anyway?

Although the girl’s mood made Ryu want to shift all the blame onto someone else, her remaining Elf pride made her realize that this incident wasn’t Noah’s fault.

I was just trying to enjoy a peaceful bath, and then someone sneaks a peek at me – is that my fault?

In a vast forest like this, how on earth did Noah manage to stumble upon Asteria Familia’s secret bathing spot so easily – it’s like they had a Dungeon Map or something!

If we’re placing blame, maybe it’s just the fault of the World itself – after all, this is a world where even the Gods can be a bit off, just like in the tales of the Fate series!
