Chapter 69 If I could just hide him
It was like her favorite pillow had been stolen, a wave of anxiety spreading through her tiny chest, making Ais’ Breathing Technique difficult, and her back felt like it was burning.
Noah.
Without much thought, Ais was sure the source of this strange discomfort was Noah, who hadn’t returned from the Dungeon yet.
Her condition caught Riveria’s attention.
“Ais? What’s wrong? Did you find something?”
Gripping her staff, Riveria instinctively scanned her surroundings, her sharp eyes trying to find any troublemakers hiding among the crowd.
During a festival in the city, the Evilus Faction wouldn’t just stand by and watch, it was something everyone expected.
So, while the citizens and smaller Familias could relax and enjoy themselves, the larger Familias didn’t have the time to wander around.
Each one had been assigned a vigilance Mission by the Guild and was on high alert throughout the city.
Finn was stationed on a nearby tower, directing and coordinating the various Familias.
Gareth led a team on patrol through a more secluded alley, searching for any Enemy lurking in the shadows.
Considering the square’s open view, the possibility of a sudden attack by the Evilus Faction was low, plus there was no room to use Offensive ArtsMagic on the surface, Riveria was assigned to guard the square.
The main Mission was to protect and direct the crowd in case of an attack, preventing any chaos.
The target of the festival wasn’t to eliminate a certain number of Enemies, but to show the citizens that the city had the Strength to protect them… It was based on this consideration that Finn concentrated the main defensive Strength of each Familia at the major intersections of the square and nearby buildings.
You could say that as long as the Evilus Faction couldn’t drop from the sky or emerge from underground, the central square, which lacked protection, was the safest place in the city.
So, when she heard Finn’s words, ‘It’s time for Ais to step out of our protection,’ Riveria reluctantly allowed Ais to help guard here, on the condition that she stayed by her side at all times.
Of course, the Elf Princess suspected that her Familia Captain was simply short-handed and had said that.
Darn Pallum!
“Riveria! Noah, Noah, he’s in trouble!”
“Huh?”

### BEGIN 1
The unexpected answer made Riveria feel unresponsive for a moment.
Noah didn’t come back, how did you know something happened to him?
However, when recalling the Magic and Skill developed in Ais, Riveria also chose to believe it.
### END
Okay, so Noah was supposed to be back before dark, but he’s still MIA.
Riveria’s starting to worry.
But she’s the commander, and she can’t crack under pressure.
Not now.
She can’t leave her post, though.
What to do?
Huh?
Her gaze sweeps over the surroundings, and Riveria notices something strange about Ais’s face.
It’s not fear, exactly, but more like anger.
The kind of anger a little girl gets when someone steals her favorite toy.
Something’s definitely wrong.
“Ais, think back carefully. Tell me the truth!”
Riveria looks Ais straight in the eye, her expression serious.
“Did you sense any danger to Noah’s life?”
The question hangs in the air, and Ais freezes.
Her eyebrows furrow, her eyes widen.
She taps her chin, her little head tilted as if solving a complex magic circle puzzle.
After a while, she looks up at Riveria, her face determined.
“Yes! I’m sure of it. Noah’s purity is in danger!”
Riveria’s beautiful emerald eyes go blank.
An elf princess doesn’t need to think twice.
She knows exactly what’s going on.
Noah’s probably met some elf girl in the dungeon, and things have escalated.
It’s a common trope in heroic epic stories – Riveria has seen it countless times.
Like when the girls from Asteria Familia developed a crush on Noah after he defeated Goliath.
Or those girls from Dian Sect Familia who started developing inappropriate feelings for him after healing him.
But… Ais’s skill can actually detect infidelity?
What kind of skill is that?
Riveria thinks back to Hera Familia.
To the world, they are the dominant force in Orario, a family with a long history of power.
But for those who have had some in-depth contact with Riveria, their image is a bit broken.
Strong is definitely strong, but the problem is that I don’t know if it is influenced by the violent goddess Hera, who is the most members of Hera Familia who are super extreme older single women.
Either hate marrying a sick and cute girl or hate men.
Adventurer’s inner wishes will give birth to Skill, but Skill and Magic will also affect Adventurer.
Will Ais ever become like that with her Skill?
It’s hard to imagine.
And that Noah, even without meaning to, seems to inadvertently draw the attention of Elf females.
Combine the two, and it’s easy to picture what the future holds for Loki Familia, even all of Orario, Riveria muses.
Just thinking about it, the Elf Princess can’t help but gaze into the distance.
Having such a standout student brings its own set of headaches.
…Would hiding Noah, reducing the chances of other Elf females running into him, make things better?
Hmm, this idea feels a bit risky.
Shaking her head to clear these thoughts, Riveria rubs her forehead and stands up again.
“Ais, you know Noah’s strength. Even if he can’t win, no one in the mid to upper levels of the Dungeon, or even in Orario, can threaten him if he decides to run. Us going down now would just cause him more trouble.”
Despite Riveria’s lengthy explanation, Ais only hears ‘Don’t go.’ She can’t help but puff up her cheeks like a loaf of bread.
But she’s not the same fighter who used to charge in without a thought; she knows the score now.
As a member of Loki Familia, and as Noah’s future wife, she must learn to mature!
Just like in heroic epics, where heroes are often fickle!
So, as the wife of a hero, there are 2 options… either, for the sake of continuing the relationship, turn a blind eye to the wandering ways of the husband, as long as he comes home.
Or… take a page from the Amazons and just break his legs to drag him back home!
Ais is a bit selfish; she doesn’t want to share her own limited chest space with other girls… but if Riveria wants to join in, that’s fine; it would be warmer that way.
But if she’s thinking of breaking Noah’s legs, she’s definitely no match for him now.
Unless she surpasses him…
‘Ais, staring at me won’t help you surpass me.’
It’s to surpass Noah that Ais halted her Dungeon exploration, turning her gaze to the wider world beyond.
But what is she looking at?
Suddenly, a massive explosion rocks a corner of Ais’ focus, followed by chaos spreading out.
Standing in the wind, Ais finds herself a bit ruffled.
