Chapter 74 Why is it always a little girl?
Did I do something wrong?
Why don’t Mom and Dad want me?
Why was I thrown here?
In the cold, damp basement, the girl gazed at the writhing pool of countless bugs, despair and tears welling up in her eyes.
Once known as Tohsaka Sakura, the girl now called Matou Sakura wanted to escape, but her legs lacked the strength to even stand.
It wasn’t just because she knew that in front of the Matou Family’s ‘Grandfather’, her ordinary self was fundamentally unable to escape.
It was also because Matou Sakura didn’t know where to run.
The ones who brought her here, into this den of evil, were her father and mother.
Her parents chose her more talented, brighter, and cheerful sister, abandoning her… For the little girl, this was her entire understanding of the day.
Just as ‘Grandfather’ said, the moment she was sent to the Matou Family, there was no other place to go; she could only survive as part of the Matou Family.
Even if she escaped this den of evil, where could she go?
If she ran back to the Tohsaka Household, would she just be sent back again?
The sickening sound of the writhing bugs crashed over her like a tsunami, plunging Matou Sakura into endless despair.
“Well then, I guess it’s time to accept the baptism of these bugs?”
Behind Matou Sakura stood a short, bald old man with a cane.
His emaciated body was wrapped in a grayish-blue kimono, his limbs as thin as dry twigs.
His deep-set eyes obscured his pupils, yet exuded a mocking malice that made one instinctively recoil.
Though humanoid, he radiated the decayed breath of rotting corpses.
He pressed his hand against Matou Sakura’s frail back, then forcefully pushed her toward the sea of bugs…
No matter how strong she tried to be, the young girl looked at the writhing mass of bugs and finally let out a helpless wail.
Dad, Mom, Sister, anyone…
Please, save me…
As if responding to Matou Sakura’s inner cries for help, a sudden wave of searing heat surged across her hand, making her gasp in pain.
“It hurts!”
Feeling the ripples of mana, Matou Zouken instinctively halted his actions, then saw the crimson pattern on the girl’s hand, resembling solidified blood.
It was a design made of 3 cherry blossom petals, flickering like a candle flame.
Matou Zouken knew exactly what the symbol meant, because he himself had developed the Command Spell system back in the day.
But because of this, he couldn’t help but widen his eyes in surprise.
“This, how is this possible? There’s more than a year left before the 60-year cycle!”
Matou Zouken thought it was just his imagination, but the truth seemed to be working against him, developing in another direction.
Beneath countless writhing worms, a burst of blinding light suddenly erupted.
Like the sun, the dazzling light effortlessly incinerated the worms, then shot straight up to the ceiling, painting the damp, dark basement a ghastly white.
The strong wind stirred up by the surging Mana roared through the basement, shaking the very air.
She could clearly feel the steps beneath her feet trembling violently, becoming as soft as cotton, the strong wind in front of her was like a moving wall, threatening to knock Matou Sakura over, and the blinding light in front of her made it impossible for her to open her eyes.
But, a scorching heat spread from her back of her hand to her wrist, and even throughout her whole body, causing a feeling of unprecedented excitement in her heart.
Following the instinct deep within her, Matou Sakura strained her eyes open, looking towards the center of the light with tear-filled eyes.
As the tall figure clad in silver armor gradually emerged from the Magic Circle, bathed in electricity, Matou Sakura felt as if Electric Arcs were exploding on her skin, sending jolts of pain through her body.
Finally, with a low thunder Sound that echoed through the void, yet shook her very core, Noah’s consciousness was finally freed from the crazy Flow of the light vortex.
What the heck is going on?
Is this still Orario?
After a few moments of confusion, a flood of knowledge appeared in Noah’s mind, bringing him back to his senses.
Oh right, that piece of junk system said I could fight a lot of interesting people, and no matter how long I stay here, only one second will pass in Orario.
I just came over.
So, I’m here on a business trip to fight!
Just listen to the incantation.
……Listen up!
I’ll give you Mana, you do the work!
Anyone who was brought here by the Holy Grail, can hear me, and agrees with my opinion, just shout out!
Let’s get one thing straight, Imay do good things, or I may not; there are three Command Spells, follow me for seven days! I won’t reimburse the travel expenses, you figure it out yourself… These are the conditions, the final right of interpretation belongs to Holy Grail…
Well, then, where is my master?
The knowledge that emerged in Noah’s mind told him that now he is in the world as Heroic Spirit, and all the Mana needed for battle comes from the provision of this master.
Noah didn’t expect much from his partner, but at least they shouldn’t hold him back, right?
After finally shaking off the stigma of the fragile hero in Orario and experiencing the joy of being a hexagon stats monster, Noah hadn’t had enough time to savor it before being pulled back.
Glancing around, Noah noticed bits of bug debris everywhere, causing his brow to furrow.
Ew, how disgusting.
Then, Noah noticed a black-haired girl staring blankly at him, and behind her, a bald old man whose eyes were about to pop out of their sockets.
The first thought that crossed Noah’s mind wasn’t to confirm the young girl as his Master through Mana resonance, nor was it that the old man gave him the creeps like a bug.
But…
Why does it feel like another child abduction scene?
“I am Matou Zouken,” the bald old man spoke up before Matou Sakura, stepping forward past the young girl to address Noah with a voice that rumbled from deep within his throat, “May I inquire, sir, of your noble name and the role you have descended upon?”
The old man’s first impression on Noah was that he was no good, and he was absolutely repulsive.
However, Noah, having seen much, wasn’t one to judge a book by its cover.
Better to communicate first and see how it goes.
“I’m Noah, Noah Cipher, I guess I’ve descended as a Berserker?”
Glancing at his status panel, Noah hesitated before giving his answer.
Matou Zouken fell silent, his eyeless gaze emitting a sensation of scrutiny.
After a long moment, he nodded to Noah as if suddenly waking from a trance.
“My apologies, I am quite ignorant. I have never heard of a Heroic Spirit descending as a Berserker and yet maintaining the ability to communicate properly, nor have I heard of your name.”
In truth, what truly concerned Matou Zouken was Noah’s name.
It wasn’t uncommon for a Heroic Spirit Summon to present unusual circumstances.
For instance, Noah appeared a year early, and without a Holy Relic or an active Summon, he materialized on his own,
Or that he descended as a Berserker yet could converse clearly with a Spirit, likely due to possessing some sort of special Noble Phantasm.
But the issue was, Matou Zouken had never heard of Noah Cipher.
The power of a Heroic Spirit and their role were closely related to their Master, but even more important was the Heroic Spirit themselves.
The Hero who creates epic legends, the conqueror who establishes immortal achievements, the deity who reaches the other side of the heavens… compared to the nameless individuals of their past lives, these Heroic Spirits undoubtedly possess greater power.
Even just one or 2 special Noble Phantasms forged from legends could potentially turn the tide of battle.
However, having lived for hundreds of years, Matou Zouken, who has undoubtedly reached the pinnacle of The World, can confirm that he has never heard of the legend known as Noah Cipher.
Yet, at least on the surface, Matou Zouken does not perceive Noah as weak.
Is he an alternate Heroic Spirit?
But he hasn’t heard of any story featuring him.
Or perhaps, a Heroic Spirit from a Parallel World?
But a Parallel World is merely a manifestation of different World Lines; the legends should be largely similar.
In that case, the opponent’s strength would heavily depend on one’s luck.
“That’s quite normal; I’m not from your World. Although I don’t know how strong I am in your world, I have saved The World before, so I should be okay, right?”
It’s hard to tell, but fundamentally, nothing seems out of the ordinary.
Matou Zouken observed Noah in silence, attempting to analyze the identity of the mysterious Heroic Spirit before him using his centuries-honed experience.
As someone who has lived a legendary life, each Heroic Spirit basically has a mindset etched into their bones, which has become a part of their personality.
However, on Noah, Matou Zouken could barely sense any special emotions.
Humility, pride, arrogance, confidence, cowardice, integrity… aside from a hint of curiosity about the surroundings, no other thoughts could be seen in his eyes.
Occasionally, when their gazes met, Matou Zouken felt like he was staring into a mirror.
Those clear, azure eyes reflected the outside world faithfully, completely hiding his emotions and will.
It was certain that, despite the vastly different appearance, the essence was the same as his own – an old, cunning foe.
Tch, Matou Zouken had a premonition that he and the other person wouldn’t get along.
Having experienced several Holy Grail Wars, Matou Zouken knew that discord between a Servant and their Master was more fatal than anything else.
If a Servant didn’t work well with their Master, the stronger the Servant, the more they became a hindrance.
Should he kill and re-summon?
After all, it was all unexpected…
However, whether he decided to keep or destroy, he needed to understand more first.
“Sakura, can you see this gentleman’s information?”
Matou Sakura had been standing quietly beside him, occasionally glancing at the silver-haired Saber with a hint of curiosity in her eyes.
Although she didn’t know what had happened, Matou Sakura knew that something important seemed to have occurred.
If ‘Grandfather’ could forget about her and treat her like air because of this, that would be great.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go as she wished, and Matou Zouken looked at her instead.
Moreover, Matou Sakura sensed a change in Matou Zouken’s mood.
From toying with her and enjoying her fear, his mood had become somewhat heavy.
Matou Sakura didn’t dare to wait and quickly checked Noah’s message.
As a member of a Magecraft family, although Matou Sakura didn’t know what a Servant or Heroic Spirit was, she could sense the unusual mana fluctuations.
It was as if a light screen had suddenly appeared before her, and although she didn’t know how it was created, reading it was effortless.

Absorbing and utilizing Offensive Arts,
Even from Matou Zouken’s perspective, these stats are more than excellent.
After all, the opponent is using a young girl who hasn’t developed her Mana as a Mana source.
If I help, with a year of preparation, it’s easy to raise a few Attributes to A.
Especially these Noble Phantasms, which are indeed exceptional.
It’s unlikely to Summon such a powerful Heroic Spirit again without considerable luck.
Moreover, Summoning a Heroic Spirit a year in advance gives me a huge advantage.
Between the desire for the Holy Grail and the rationality to eliminate danger, Matou Zouken struggled for a while, ultimately succumbing to his inner greed.
All-in!
Who cries every day?!
BOOM!
“This powerful Heroic Spirit, I hope we can work together and win this Holy Grail War.”
Looking at Matou Zouken’s outstretched hand, Noah pondered and didn’t shake it.
Because he was always afraid that his instincts would make his Body react before his consciousness, and directly slash the opponent.
“Well, cooperation is no problem. I have no interest in the Holy Grail, I just want to have a good fight. As long as you can provide me with ample Mana, that’s all I need.”
Although he could clearly feel the disdain in Noah’s eyes, Matou Zouken didn’t mind.
On the contrary, he was very satisfied with Noah’s straightforward attitude.
The dissatisfaction shown on the surface was much better than private slacking, at least he didn’t have to waste Command Spells.
Though Fundamental didn’t believe Noah’s words about not wanting the Holy Grail, Matou Zouken thought that was something for much later.
As for Mana?
Just a small matter.
“No problem, rest assured, Sakura is a very excellent vessel. As long as I modify her, she will definitely be able to provide the Mana you need. Then, please unleash your full combat power.”
Quietly watching Matou Zouken, Noah looked at the Black-haired Girl with a face full of fear and despair, and then at the few insects still lingering in the corner of the basement, he fell silent.
“Why are there so many perverts who abuse young girls? Is it so hard to find a reliable teammate?”
