Multiverse Adventure – My Journey Begins in Danmachi 81

    Edited by: Tiny Fan Fiction

81 Matou Sakura: Mom said, the more handsome a boy is, the more likely he is to be a liar.

After securing Matou Kariya as a potential ally, Noah started looking for information on Mifune City again, to see if it could be used as a base for gathering Mana.

However, Noah just took a couple of glances and discarded Mifune City as an option.

The reason was simple: Mifune City was almost 500 kilometers away from Fuyuki City.

Five hundred kilometers meant that building a grand Magic Circle connecting the two places and transporting the Mana obtained in Mifune City to Fuyuki City was impossible.

At least Noah wasn’t at that level.

So, would he have to replenish his Mana in Mifune City and then return to Fuyuki City?

    That was also impossible.

Five hundred kilometers wasn’t far for Noah.

In full-speed mode, he could go from Fuyuki City to a restaurant, order Matou Sakura a small cake, and be back before she finished it.

But in battle, time was of the essence.

That much time could even decide the outcome of a war.

Putting himself in the shoes of a Heroic Spirit, Noah reasoned that if a Heroic Spirit found a lone Master, the speed at which they would kill the Master would be faster than the Master’s reaction speed.

Even in a well-defended Magecraft Workshop, a Heroic Spirit entering the workshop to kill the Master would be faster than the speed of eating a cake.

After giving up on Mifune City, Noah, who wasn’t good at searching for information from modern systems, looked for a long time but couldn’t find a suitable location.

So he decided to use the most straightforward method: to drive around Fuyuki City and experience different places firsthand.

After all, transportation in this era was still quite convenient, and he didn’t need to climb mountains, cross rivers, or travel long distances.

Just taking a train called the Shinkansen would do.

It was just that Noah didn’t know why, but he ended up in Mifune City while riding the train.

Forget it, since I’m already here, I might as well come out and sightsee.

Orario and Noah’s previous world weren’t that different, but the customs, technology, and social systems of this world were worlds apart from the previous 2.

After all, Holy Grail War is still a year away, and it is too uninteresting to come to the new world.

Having made up his mind, Noah gazed at Matou Sakura, who had just woken up from her sleep in his arms.

“Sakura, want to go out and take a stroll?”

Matou Sakura, still half-asleep, nodded dazedly at Noah.

Was that… a glimpse of Big Brother’s past?

Mifune City, located within the Tokyo metropolitan area, was a small inland city that was somewhat remote.

This was evident from the fact that Mifune City had more towering buildings and a streetcar system that ran through the city, compared to Fuyuki City.

However, many of those tall buildings seemed to have been abandoned halfway through construction, and Noah also sensed that the traffic on the roads was sparse, making the entire city feel somewhat desolate.

Despite being close to the New Year, there was no lively atmosphere, only a sense of decline and silence.

Noah was aware that this was an inevitable consequence of living in a large metropolitan area, where population outflow was unavoidable.

Just like Orario, which was situated on a vast plain, with only the port city of Meilen providing seafood and maritime transportation, and the Demeter Familia’s farmland, there were hardly any villages formed by farmers.

Of course, Mifune City’s population was relatively small, but it was not a deserted village, and the streets were still bustling with people.

As a result, when Noah carried Matou Sakura into the city, she became aware of many gazes.

Although it might be somewhat self-centered, Matou Sakura knew she was a cute girl, and she would often receive attention from people on the streets.

However, Matou Sakura realized that the gazes were now focused more on Noah, who was carrying her.

Noah was wearing a simple black tracksuit, similar to the one Matou Kariya wore.

But the same clothes had a vastly different effect when worn by different people.

Noah’s tall and lean physique made the loose tracksuit fit him perfectly, accentuating his long legs and broad shoulders, and subtly revealing the muscles underneath.

Not to mention his striking silver hair, which was sure to draw attention in this Eastern country.

Typically, silver hair would make one’s skin appear darker, and flaws would be more noticeable.

But Noah’s skin was even fairer than his silver hair, with a healthy, rosy glow.

His facial features combined the softness of an Easterner with the sharpness of a Westerner, without appearing effeminate, but rather, exuding a clear, dignified, and profound aura.

    However… it was not pleasant.

Seeing a crowd of people, including housewives, office ladies, female students, and even young girls around his age, all staring at Noah with burning gazes, Matou Sakura felt a strong sense of displeasure from the bottom of her heart.

It was as if she was the only one who got a small cake at a class party, and before she could even take a bite, the other girls started eyeing it covetously.

No way, I won’t share it with you.

Clenching Noah’s hand tightly, Matou Sakura puffed out her cheeks and shot a wary glance at the passersby.

    Onii-chan, he’s mine.

Sakura, he’s the only one for me.

    “Sakura?”

Just as Noah sensed something off about Matou Sakura, he was intercepted by several girls dressed in nun-like attire before he could even react.

“Um, excuse me, are you a foreigner? We were wondering if you’d like to have a cup of tea with us?”

Looking at the girls, who were blushing and stuttering as they extended their invitation, Noah smiled apologetically and lowered his voice.

“Thank you very much for the invitation, but this child’s mother is waiting for me.”

The girls in nun-like attire glanced at Matou Sakura, who was shooting them an unpleasant look, then back at Noah’s handsome smile, and their eyes widened in disbelief.

“Huh? I-Is she your… daughter? You’re kidding, right? You look like you’re only 16 or 17! I thought she was your little sister or something!”

“Well, a lot of people do say I look younger than I actually am.”

After tilting his head ambiguously, Noah walked past the 3 girls, who were now completely stunned.

    “Onii-chan, it’s not nice to lie…”

Noah’s polite smile had barely faded when he heard a soft, murmured complaint, and looking down, he saw Matou Sakura gazing up at him with her large, jewel-like eyes.

In response, Noah merely raised an eyebrow.

“Sakura, I didn’t say you were my daughter, did I? That’s just their own misconception. How can you say I’m lying? And I do look younger than my actual age, just not that much younger.”

Faced with Noah’s logical argument, Matou Sakura opened her mouth, trying to retort.

She wasn’t about to be swayed so easily, but her little brain couldn’t seem to come up with a way to counter his theory, so she puffed out her cheeks again.

“Just like Mother said, the more handsome a boy is, the more he’ll try to deceive you!”

Although he had managed to deflect the 3 girls and placate Matou Sakura, Noah soon found himself surrounded by even more elf females, all vying for his attention, to the point where he could hardly move.

This situation reminded Noah of the new Skill he had acquired when he leveled up.

    …The “Woman Trouble” aspect, perhaps?

Although it’s a shame, their journey had to come to an abrupt end.

Before they could even enter the city, Noah had to take Matou Sakura and leave, arriving at a long, sloping road on the outskirts of the city.

This seemed to be a one-way road leading to an all-girls school, so there were hardly any people around, making it quite peaceful, much like the streets of Orario after a long day of adventuring.

As the warm winter sun set, accompanied by the gentle Clear Wind blowing in from afar, it was hard not to tilt one’s head back and bask in the warm, comforting glow, reminiscent of a peaceful evening in the city of Fuyuki.

Even Matou Sakura couldn’t help but yawn and snuggle into Noah’s chest, softly dozing off, like a exhausted adventurer after a long day of exploring the Dungeon.

Kids will be kids, getting tired after just a short walk.

It’s not like they walked more than 20 kilometers or anything; kids these days just don’t get enough exercise, unlike the brave adventurers of the Familia.

As Noah shook his head in exasperation, he suddenly heard a faint sound of someone falling.

Turning his head, he saw a small girl, dressed in a black nun’s habit, apparently having tripped over a rock and fallen onto the road, much like a Servant who had been struck down in battle.

However, instead of crying out in pain like a normal girl would, she stared blankly at her own palm, her expression eerily calm, like a Master who had just witnessed a mysterious and unexplainable phenomenon.
