Chapter 12 The First Attempt at Hypnosis
Inside the cooking classroom, the Service Club’s first request was still ongoing.
“Yui, which method do you think is better? It’s just past 4 o’clock, and we have a lot of practice time left.”
The school day ended early in this island nation, usually around 3:30 pm.
The rest of the time was left for the students’ extracurricular activities.
Yui Yuigahama was now faced with a difficult choice, and for someone as versatile as her, making a decision was quite challenging.
If she leaned towards one side, the other would definitely feel unhappy, and Yui didn’t know who to choose.
She wasn’t considering which plan was more suitable for herself, but rather who to choose.
After a moment of thought, an idea popped into her head – a method that wouldn’t hurt either party.
So, Yui Yuigahama softly tested the waters:
“Can I do both…”
Upon hearing this, Yukino Yukinoshita furrowed her eyebrows, probably guessing what Yui would say next.
“Try Asakura’s method first, and if it doesn’t work, use mine?”
“You want to compromise?” she asked with a questioning tone, yet her voice was quite certain.
People generally liked to find a middle ground, especially someone like Yui Yuigahama who was skilled at reading people.
But Yukino didn’t like Yui’s approach.
In reality, no matter whose method Yui chose, Yukino wouldn’t get angry.
“Is it not allowed?” Yui Yuigahama asked with a wry smile.
“It’s fine.”
In the end, Yukino nodded in agreement with Yui’s choice, mainly because the plan was feasible, and they still had time.
Asakura looked at the ingredients on the table; since they were just practicing, the quantity of each dish was small, and the previous one had already been eaten by the 3 of them.
Although it didn’t taste good, it was at least edible.
Wasting food was a shame, and the 3 of them shared the same thoughts on this matter.
Soon, another stew was made in half an hour.
Asakura served himself a small bowl, tasted it, and then put down his chopsticks.
“There’s some progress, but it’s not obvious.”
If things continued like this, it might not work.
“Too much salt, and the vegetables aren’t flavorful,” Yukino said after tasting it.
There was a bit of improvement, but not much.
“…Sorry,” Yui Yuigahama apologized, bowing her head slightly.
She had tried her best, but it didn’t work out.
“Asakura, based on the current conclusion, your plan can’t achieve the goal of this request.”
Yukino’s beautiful eyes sparkled with a victor’s pride, and her expression was quite cute.
Asakura didn’t mind much; to him, Yukino’s words were like a child’s tantrum.
One plan didn’t work, so they would have to use Yukino’s so-called “foolish” method.
With every step of Ayumu thoroughly explained and guided, this time it’s definitely not going to fail.
Half an hour later.
Yukino lay on the cooking classroom’s counter, saying in a desperate tone: “Why is this happening? Every step of Ayumu is reasonable, yet it’s still so bad. How can I teach you to understand?”
Asakura savored the dish, chewing on a perfectly sized potato chunk, and said unclearly: “The taste has improved a lot, it’s at the average level of a normal person.”
After finishing a bite, he picked up the knife and ingredients, preparing to demonstrate it to her himself.
“Really?” Yui Yuigahama widened her eyes, making Asakura a bit embarrassed.
“…Can’t your comforting words be a bit more realistic?” Yukino Yukinoshita gave him a cold glance.
You call this the average level of a normal person?
This is the worst time a normal person has been slandered.
“Is it really that bad?”
Yui Yuigahama fell from heaven to earth, with a huge sense of loss, and her eyes became a bit red.
“Look, you’re about to make the kid cry.” Asakura sighed and stopped chopping the onion.
“I hope you can also tell the truth to girls other than me.” Yukino took out a handkerchief, preparing to wipe away Yui’s tears.
The request she made was something Asakura couldn’t do, as it would greatly damage his relationships.
So, no thanks.
“Thanks for the handkerchief, Yuki. And… Asakura, can you chop the onion a bit further away from me?” Yui Yuigahama didn’t intend to cry, but the onion stimulated her, and she couldn’t stop her tears.
“Don’t worry, I’ve already chopped it.” Asakura put down the knife, and on the cutting board in front of him, the onion had been cut into uniform small pieces.
“Yui, next, you’ll make the potato stew according to my steps, follow me, and you’ll definitely learn.”
In his words, he silently used the superpower he acquired last night.
That is, hypnosis.
Using hypnosis to teach someone how to cook, what a waste of talent, perhaps someone would criticize like that.
But Asakura thought this was the correct way to use it.
What else could he do?
Take away the girls’ control over their bodies and minds, and force them to like him?
Is that what a harem king should do?
A harem that can’t have mutual feelings is just a product of desire, can’t even communicate, relies on physical desire, how long can such a fake relationship last?
Using superpowers to make beautiful girls happy, Asakura thought this was the correct way to use the system.
“Yuui, you’re so quick, I might not be able to keep up.” Yui Yuigahama stood in front of the adjacent kitchen counter.
“I’ll slow down for you.”
“Mhm.”
The next moment, Yui mimicked the other’s actions, rather skillfully starting her cooking.
Half an hour later.
Yukino glanced at the two dishes in front of her, hesitating to take a bite.
She was almost developing a psychological shadow.
“Minister, would you like to taste first? Or should I?”
Yu Asakura checked the clock in the cooking classroom; it was almost 6 o’clock.
They had made 4 attempts, spending quite a bit of time.
Compared to winter, the days were longer in spring, but it was darkening now, with the orange-red sunset spreading over the grounds of Sobu High.
“Asakura member, you go first.” Yukino Yukinoshita chose to evade.
Running away is shameful, but it’s so useful!
“You guys don’t want to eat?” Yui Yuigahama looked at the excellent-looking stew in front of her, feeling a bit down.
She thought maybe this time it wasn’t so bad?
But both of their enthusiasms were pretty low.
“How could that be? No boy would dislike a dish made with the effort of a girl.” Yu Asakura said, picking up chopsticks and placing a piece of beef in his mouth.
After savoring it carefully.
He looked at the anxious Yui Yuigahama and smiled, saying, “The seasoning is good, it’s definitely no problem for cooking class.”
“Really?”
Yui Yuigahama, filled with excitement, picked up her chopsticks.
After she took a bite, she could hardly believe she had made this dish!
“Yuui’s method is amazing!”
[Yui Yuigahama favorability +10, points +10000]
Seeing this, Yukino Yukinoshita also picked up her chopsticks.
After a first taste, she couldn’t help but fall into thought…
“…Incredible, it’s transformed from rotten entrails to delicious cuisine.”
Turning decay into magic.
It’s no exaggeration to call it a miracle!
And all of this was related to member Asakura.
What exactly did he do just now?
Yukino felt that the secret to all of this lay within the dish Asakura Yu had made himself.
She reached her chopsticks over.
Then she picked up a piece of beef and chewed.
Soon, she understood.
If Yui Yuigahama was at the starting point of ten thousand hours, then Asakura Yu had undoubtedly reached the end of effort.
This was the difference between an apprentice and a master.
For a master to personally teach an apprentice, such a result was naturally to be expected.
It’s more surprising that with the master’s teaching, Yui Yuigahama’s skills only improved this much; she really doesn’t have much talent for cooking.
