The Heroines Want to Fall in Love 15

    Chapter 15 Yaha-lo!

    Inside the Service Club.

    The small talk continues.

“Most of the people who bully me are girls my age.”

“They can’t stand to see others do well. It’s like the crabs in the basket effect, where the inferior crabs won’t let the outstanding ones get ahead. They steal my indoor shoes, pour dirty water into my cup, write insults about me on the blackboard. Once someone starts, the fence-sitters join in, which might be one of the manifestations of human nastiness.”

The crabs in the basket effect…

When you put crabs in an open-weave bamboo basket, one crab can easily climb out, but when you put several in, none can escape.

Not because of anything else, but because they keep pulling each other down.

“Those girls are like the wandering spirits in the Sanzu River, dragging innocent souls into the water if they fall in.” Asakura Yu evaluates Yukino Yukinoshita’s experiences.

After speaking, he recalls Yukino’s words and asks, “When your indoor shoes were hidden in elementary school, was it because you, Yukinoshita-senpai, were too cute, and the boys couldn’t resist taking your shoes for some weird fantasies, just like I did earlier?”

“Sixty times in total, 50 by girls, 3 by boys, hidden by a dog 5 times, and twice by teachers.”

Yukino Yukinoshita reports the data with the precision of a scientist, leaving Asakura Yu speechless.

The content is even more resistant to ridicule for Asakura Yu.

Girls hid the shoes out of jealousy.

Boys hid them because they liked her.

The dog makes sense, but being hidden five times is just too pitiful.

What’s the deal with the teachers hiding it twice?

Are these facts, or is Yukino slightly exaggerating?

Yukino Yukinoshita is not incapable of lying; she just rarely lies.

To protect the girl’s pride, Asakura Yu chooses not to dwell on these details, even though his desire to rant is off the charts.

As the designated straight man, not being able to rant is tough!

In the end, Asakura Yu can’t help but ask, “Why would teachers steal your shoes?”

    “Because I’m cute.”

    Wow!

This person is dead serious when praising herself, without a hint of shame!

What makes Asakura Yu most upset is that she really is beautiful!

Sometimes the truth is just so cruel!

Such an attitude, however, is bound to make one angry.

“In fact, for a girl like me, it’s normal for teachers to have a crush. Not all teachers can be diligent and responsible, and it’s understandable to have desires for female students, like staring at my legs without a shred of gentlemanly decorum, just like a certain someone.”

Yukino Yukinoshita never misses a chance to mock Asakura Yu.

“I’ll steal your indoor shoes tomorrow…” Asakura muttered softly, intentionally using a volume that Yukino could just barely hear.

    “You dare?!”

    Yukino scolded loudly.

“I don’t dare,” Asakura instantly backed down.

“I was just joking, who would actually do something like that? Would any girl like a shoe thief? My goal is to get Yukinoshita to like me! Don’t underestimate my dreams!”

He had to clarify that, even though he liked legs, he wouldn’t be interested in girls’ shoes.

“Let’s just assume you won’t do it,” Yukino sighed.

The two had agreed not to tell each other lies, but this agreement sometimes made Yukino feel uncomfortable.

He didn’t hide his own likes and was always making a direct attack!

Yukino thought that love should be subtle, and even though she had never felt anything more than friendship towards anyone, her years of reading novels and classical literature had given her a rather idealized view of love.

The topic of their past seemed to be put on hold for the time being, without delving deeper.

Asakura noticed that Yukino didn’t seem to want to talk about her past, so he didn’t press the issue.

He also didn’t reveal his thoughts about his own uneventful 16 years.

“Yui did pretty well in cooking class today.”

There weren’t any major issues, and she had a good time chatting with the two girls in her group.

    “That’s good.”

Even if he didn’t say anything, Yukino would likely ask him about the details later, since Yui Yuigahama’s request was the Service Club’s first, and it held significant importance.

    Not long after their conversation.

Footsteps were heard from the door, followed by a gentle knock… ‘thud thud’.

“Little Asakura! Little Yukino! I’m here!”

    “Come in,” Asakura replied.

The popular crowd didn’t have any after-school activities today, which was why Yui Yuigahama had time to spare; otherwise, she would have been out playing with the other popular kids instead of coming to the Service Club to find him and Yukino.

Asakura had come to this conclusion based on his past experiences.

    “Yahallo!”

Yui Yuigahama greeted them with a cheerful tone, waving her right hand.

“Yahallo,” Asakura also responded with the same greeting, completely serious.

Then, they both looked at Yukino.

It turned out that the power of the crowd was strong.

Yukino tilted her head, thinking for a few seconds.

Her face turned red as she whispered: “Yah…hallo?”

    The scene suddenly became still.

    A few seconds later.

“Wow, so cute!” Yui Yuigahama excitedly walked over and tried to hug Yukino.

“Yukino, you’re so cute!!” Her tone became like that of a 35-year-old uncle, filled with an indescribable feeling.

Yukino pushed Yui Yuigahama away, not letting her touch her.

    Too much enthusiasm, over-the-top enthusiasm!

This weird way of greeting, it must not become popular in the Service Club!

Yukino Yukinoshita thought to herself as she dealt with Yui.

After ten or so seconds, Yui Yuigahama, who had failed to give a hug, sat down in the same seat as yesterday, between Asakura and Yukino.

“I came today to thank you all!”

“Wow, I’m so happy,” Asakura said in a perfunctory tone.

“Huh? You don’t sound happy at all.”

“Wow, I’m so happy!!!” Asakura asked, “What about this?”

    “Yeah, now you sound happy!”

“Yuigahama-san, do you judge happiness based solely on tone?” Yukino asked, looking at the two with their silly conversation.

Before, there was only one person being silly, like a solo comedy act.

Today, it became a 2-person comedy duo, and the noise level increased more than 2fold.

“Yukino, is there something you want me to do?”

‘Changing the subject? Why? I didn’t say anything that heavy, did I?’ Yukino Yukinoshita thought to herself, then prepared to explain the Service Club’s principle of helping others without compensation: “The Service Club takes on requests without needing payment.”

    “I see.”

“Changing people’s weaknesses, making the world a better place, that’s the purpose of establishing the Service Club,” Yukino Yukinoshita explained.

    “Weaknesses?”

“The president believes that the source of jealousy is people’s weaknesses. They blame their own clumsiness, ugliness, and foolishness on others to gain a sense of superiority and self-satisfaction. This is undoubtedly a manifestation of weakness. In the face of these ordinary people’s attacks, excellent individuals will be treated harshly, and this world is not reasonable.”

Asakura combined Yukino Yukinoshita’s previous discussion of her childhood experiences and gave this conclusion.

However, Yukino’s argument, he didn’t completely agree with, he had his own point of view, which he wouldn’t discuss for now.

    “That’s right.”

Yukino nodded slightly upon hearing this.

    ‘?’

Yui Yuigahama, on the other hand, didn’t quite understand.

Were these two really speaking Japanese?
