Chapter 60 Confession One Two Three
After school, the library was packed with students cramming.
The monthly exams were tomorrow, so they had to pore over their notes, adopting a last-minute cram session strategy.
In a corner of the special teaching building…
The Service Club, however, had fallen into an unusual quiet.
Asakura Yuu clutched a love letter, flipping it over and over: “How do I even refuse this confession… President, can you help me think of something? Like, lines or something. The exams are tomorrow, and I don’t have the energy to think about this.”
He received a few love letters every month.
Most likely, they were white envelopes sealed with heart-shaped stickers, tossed into his shoe rack regardless of his feelings.
He had encountered quite a few in middle school, and even more in high school.
After all, middle schoolers weren’t allowed to date openly, and the teachers in high school turned a blind eye.
As long as it didn’t disrupt (Hibiki) their studies, the school’s passing rate and ranking would stay high.
If it ever dropped, the school leaders would probably change their policy.
But since everything was fine for now, the girls continued to send Asakura Yuu love letters in his shoe rack, about once a month.
Most of them were anonymous confessions.
They used pseudonyms to refer to themselves, confessing their love for Asakura Yuu and not expecting a reply… These timid souls didn’t even leave their names, it seemed like the girls were playing some new kind of game with Asakura Yuu, treating him like a toy…
They probably thought:”If I don’t confess to Asakura Yuu once, then going to Soubu High School was for nothing!”
Besides those anonymous fan letters…
The remaining few were more daring.
They would ask Asakura Yuu to meet them in secluded spots, maybe on the rooftop or in a small grove beside the school, and pour their hearts out to him.
Asakura Yuu just got a headache thinking about those girls.
He wouldn’t directly refuse them, but he would use more subtle wording.
In short, very few people understood that rejecting someone was also a skill.
Especially now, with the monthly exams just around the corner, couldn’t we just focus on studying?
Let’s strive to become pillars of the nation!
Please, I beg you!
Yukino Yukinoshita finished listening to his request and gave him a withering look:
“You’re actually asking me to help you come up with lines to reject a girl? Are you out of your mind? There’s a limit to stupidity, you know?.. Why don’t you think about whether what you’re saying is something you can say to a girl, and then come ask me? Help you reject a confession? Are you the one being confessed to, or am I?”
“I’m not your girlfriend, so why are you asking me about this kind of thing?!”
[Yukino Yukinoshita’s affection level -1, points +500]
Her aggression still needs some work.
Asakura Yuu wasn’t even fazed, and actually found Yukino’s words to be somewhat intriguing.
Was he jealous?
Probably not.
“Changing people’s weaknesses and making the world a better place – that’s the purpose of the Service Club you founded, right, President? And now, one of your members is in trouble, but as the president, you’re not going to lend a hand?”
In response to his question, Yukino gave a meaningless reply: “Asakura, in the future, only fla2rms will fall for a scumbag like you.”
[Yukino Yukinoshita’s affection level -1, points +500]
“Yahallo~ Hey, Yuu-chan, what’s that thing in your hand? A love letter?”
Yui Yuigahama pushed open the door, and her eyes drifted to his hand with a hint of curiosity.
Actually, Yui had caught a glimpse of the love letter in Asakura Yuu’s desk earlier that day, but she didn’t have the chance to ask about it until now.
It was so frustrating!
She had some juicy gossip, but she couldn’t ask about it!
It was super frustrating!
“Want to take a look?”
[Yui Yuigahama’s affection level -1, points +500]
It seemed that even Yui would lose affection points when treated like that.
Asakura Yuu felt like he had a good grasp on Yui Yuigahama’s affection level switch, and his understanding of her deepened a bit more.
“Yuu-chan, this is a love letter from some girl, filled with her admiration and affection… Why are you showing it to me? You should treasure it instead.” Yui Yuigahama felt a pang of sympathy for the unknown girl who wrote the letter.
She imagined herself giving a love letter to someone she liked in the future, only to have it shown to someone else – what a terrible situation!
“Uh… but the contents are all pretty much the same. I can almost recite them from memory. They’re all like ‘Asakura-san, you’re so cool,’ ‘I’ve liked you for a long time, will you go out with me?’ or ‘I’ve been noticing you since last year.’ If you two beautiful girls were confessed to with lines like that, would you agree?”
Asakura Yuu countered.
“No way.”
Yukino Yukinoshita had said to Asakura Yuu before that if she met someone worth liking, she wouldn’t mind getting married even after a month…
“Hm, sounds pretty good, right? After all, as ordinary people, we also have a chance to date such a beautiful girl.”
“But don’t forget, her condition is… liking the person. That one condition alone eliminates most guys. Yui might get married, but the husband isn’t necessarily you, huh?”
“Well, I’ll think about it?” Yui Yuigahama chose a middle ground.
If the person confessing was someone Yui liked, then dating wouldn’t be a problem.
That’s how Yui thought about it.
“So, let me rephrase it. If 2 people haven’t met many times, and their communication is limited to greetings, wouldn’t it be normal for the person being confessed to give a rejection?”
“…That’s true, but, Yuu-chan, you’re about to reject someone’s confession without even hearing their lines. Isn’t that a bit… harsh?”
Asakura Yuu pondered for a moment, and said in an uncertain tone:
“Could I try accepting it?
…After all, I haven’t dated a girl before. Maybe romance will be more wonderful than I imagine. I… maybe I’m too naive? Thinking that giving my first love away so easily is a very irresponsible thing to do.”
Silence.
A few strands of the almost summer-like warm wind blew in through the half-open window of the Service Club, stirring the hair and heartstrings of the two girls, making them feel a little hot.
And so…
“Asakura-san, I don’t suggest you date a girl with a casual attitude.”
“Yuu-chan, I didn’t ask you to do that either.”
Asakura Yuu opened the love letter in her hand and looked at it carefully, then said, “I was just joking, you guys don’t take it seriously, right?”
“Heehee.”
Yui Yuigahama gave her signature silly smile: “I thought Yuu-chan had given up on his harem idea.”
“Impossible? Making all the beautiful girls in the world happy is my dream.”
Yukino: “Oh.”
“Yes.”
Then, for some reason, I was silent for more than ten seconds.
Asakura Yuu suddenly spoke: “Minister, Yui, have you fallen in love with me?”
The one just now must have been jealous, right?
Yukino opened the library novel in his hand: “Narcissism must be a bit limit, right?”
Yui Yuigahama looked away: “Yuu-chan is self-indulgent again.”
[Yui Yuigahama’s favorability +2, points +2000]
“Okay.”
Looks like the path to romance is still long.
…………
Half an hour later.
In the open space behind the teaching building.
“…I’m really sorry, Seina-san. I don’t have any romantic feelings right now. Thank you for what you said to me earlier, I was touched.”
“Mm.”
A slightly dejected voice.
But Asakura Yuu’s next words lifted her spirits considerably.
“We first met in last year’s elective class, right? I remember it was the third week of school, during the art class. You came up and talked to me. I remember all this…”
Asakura Yuu actually remembered their first encounter a year ago!
Seina didn’t expect that!
Could it be…am I special?
Could other girls be remembered by Asakura-kun?
…Actually, it’s not like that.
Asakura Yuu has a great memory, he remembers the details of his interactions with all the girls in school.
“So, what I said before wasn’t just polite small talk, I wasn’t lying. I just hope you know that.”
“It’s okay, Asakura-kun. I’m already happy that you remember me.”
“Then I’ll be going now, let’s chat again next time?”
“Yeah, bye-bye.”
The two parted ways in a slightly awkward atmosphere.
Asakura Yuu had made plans with Yui Yuigahama today to buy teacups together.
She said that reading books all the time in the Service Club was a bit boring.
They met at the school gate and left together, chatting happily.
They didn’t know…
Seina-san, who had just confessed to Asakura Yuu, saw this scene.
Soon, a new post appeared on the anonymous forum.
[Who is the girl with the peach-colored hair who is always with Asakura-san? Are they dating?]
