Chapter 93 Mrs. Yukinoshita Discovers an Interesting Young Man
The ball game had ended.
The 3-party meeting began the next morning.
Asakura Yuu walked into the office, holding a course selection survey.
Before he even reached the meeting room, he heard Hachiman Hikigaya’s voice…
“I want to be a househusband… but, since Hiratsuka-sensei said so, I’ll aim for the humanities department as my first choice, and I’ve already filled out…”
He sounded so reluctant, it felt like Hachiman was being held at gunpoint by Hiratsuka-sensei – it was just too pitiful.
Even the proud hero, the lonely ruler, Hachiman the dog, who ranked third in the humanities department, couldn’t escape the violent threat of his teacher and live a second life?
He waited at the door for several minutes.
Shizuka Hiratsuka called out…
“Next, Asakura Yuu, come in.”
As soon as she finished speaking,
Hachiman Hikigaya and a bespectacled, intelligent-looking woman with short hair walked out.
“Auntie, long time no see.”
“Yuu-kun? Ah, hello. Has Hachiman been causing you trouble again?”
Hachiman Hikigaya, upon hearing this, rolled his eyes with his dull, lifeless gaze.
Causing trouble?
I’d be grateful if I wasn’t bothered, but I’ve been dragged into 2 awkward situations already, and they were both related to him, Mother.
“Yes… this guy is too much… cough, likes to do things I don’t expect, making it difficult for me.”
Asakura Yuu had been backstabbed by Hachiman many times before.
“Sigh, I wish he could be at least half as cute as Komachi.”
“Yeah, even a third would be nice.”
Hey, the numbers are getting lower and lower.
You damn dog, Asakura, what are you talking about with my mom?
You’re badmouthing me in front of me?
You just wait, when those girls start fighting over me, I’ll definitely give you a good punch and make you taste the consequences of messing with me!
“Auntie, I’ll go in now.”
Asakura Yuu said, and walked into the meeting room under Hikigaya’s mom’s gentle smile.
As soon as he left,
Hikigaya’s mom let out a sigh and muttered to herself: “If only you had a tenth of Yuu-kun’s charm, that would be enough.”
Hachiman Hikigaya: “…?”
The number’s gotten too low, hasn’t it?
I know that guy’s charming, but a tenth is too much!
At least make it a fifth?
…………
Asakura Yuu entered the meeting room.
At first glance, I saw Shizuka Hiratsuka’s exasperated expression.
It was probably because of Hachiman Hikigaya’s earlier behavior that she was getting a headache.
“Come here.”
The necessary procedures still had to be followed.
Asakura Yuu placed the course selection form on the desk: “Here.”
Shizuka Hiratsuka took it and glanced at it: “The school is fine, but tell me, why did you choose the humanities department at Toudai, class 3?”
“I want to join the literature club, and there are more girls there.”
That’s so like him.
Shizuka Hiratsuka wrinkled her brow, lit a cigarette, and took a puff: “What about the humanities department, class 1? Didn’t you consider law?”
She crossed her legs, and her tight pants outlined her perfect, alluring curves, faintly visible.
“I’m destined to become a man who transcends the law, so I don’t need to study.” Asakura Yuu’s serious tone made Shizuka Hiratsuka wonder if he wasn’t joking.
“It’s more challenging, and you’re certain you won’t prove your abilities? If it’s Asakura Yuu, you’ll definitely take on the challenge, right?” Shizuka Hiratsuka understood Asakura Yuu, especially his behavior patterns.
“Why shouldn’t I go for the science department, class 3? The difficulty is the most exaggerated, and the students there are called inhuman monsters.” Asakura Yuu thought to himself that with his cheat ability, he shouldn’t be doing things that go against his desires, or it would be too stifling.
“You really want to be a writer?” Shizuka Hiratsuka covered her forehead, with an expression of disbelief.
It’s hard to imagine, this guy becoming a writer in the future, how terrifying that would be.
Shizuka Hiratsuka didn’t want to be walking down the street and suddenly stumble upon her student’s work, which would give her PTSD, considering she had already read enough of Asakura Yuu’s writing.
“Studying law can’t save the island nation, and studying medicine can’t save it either. Yui (alone) has to abandon medicine and pursue literature to awaken everyone’s consciousness!”
“Then you should become a politician. I don’t think being a writer can change the current situation.” Shizuka Hiratsuka put down her crossed leg, feeling a bit embarrassed since the kid had been staring at her thighs the whole time.
“The political world has already rotted… The island nation might as well be destroyed. Let a tsunami that can sweep the entire island come tomorrow, oh god.” Asakura Yuu clasped his hands together and started praying.
The beautiful boy is praying.
“Don’t give up on the island nation’s politics so soon, you little brat!” Shizuka Hiratsuka leaned forward and tapped his head.
Asakura Yuu could smell the scent of smoke on her.
There was also a hint of perfume, not too strong.
“Hiratsuka-sensei, the smoke smell is really bad.”
“Really?” Shizuka Hiratsuka pulled up her sleeve and took a few light sniffs.
She usually sprayed perfume to cover up the smell of smoke.
“Yeah.” Asakura Yuu leaned forward, took the cigarette from her hand, and extinguished it: “Try to cut back a bit, Shizuka (quiet/still) sister.”
“…what are you calling me?”
“Didn’t you say you wanted to be my sister last time?”
“Brat.” Shizuka Hiratsuka laughed and scolded, but didn’t refute the title.
Their relationship wasn’t that of siblings, but it was similar, and she didn’t mind this way of addressing her – in fact, she might even like it.
“Alright, let’s go, the final exams are coming up soon, so let’s get to it.”
Asakura Yuu nodded and left the conference room.
In the hallway.
Many students were walking around with tense expressions, accompanied by their parents.
Asakura Yuu looked at them without any feelings of envy, and simply walked over to a nearby vending machine and inserted a coin.
After a clunking sound.
He took out a drink.
As he opened the bottle cap, Asakura Yuu gazed out the hallway window at the clear blue sky – it was a beautiful day after yesterday’s heavy rain.
An airplane, its wings leaving a trail of cloud, flew from one corner of the sky to the other.
Asakura Yuu put the bottle opening to his eye, and the airplane slowly flew in, disappearing from his sight…
“…what are you doing, catching airplanes?”
A gentle, yet somewhat cold laugh sounded from beside him, and Asakura Yuu put down his drink, replying: “Conquering the sky…? I’m not really sure.”
Only after speaking did he get a clear look at the person who had spoken.
She wore a light-colored kimono, her black hair tied up behind her head, with a mature and elegant demeanor, and a figure that was just right – at the moment, she was covering her mouth, and her expression was hard to read.
She was a beauty.
“Excuse me, are you here to find your child? I remember the names and faces of all the students in school, so maybe I can help you.” Asakura Yuu tightened the cap on the bottle with the airplane in it, as if to prevent it from escaping.
“Thank you for your concern, but I do know my daughter’s class,” Mrs. Yukinoshita said with a gentle smile.
The appearance of the young man in front of her was indeed quite likable, and she had been curious about the scene she had just witnessed.
“I see.”
Asakura Yuu nodded, reminding her: “The parent-teacher conference has already started, so you should hurry.”
“I have something to do, so I’ll be going first.”
After saying that, he left the vending machine, nodding his head in farewell.
Mrs. Yukinoshita rested her hand on her chin, a pleased smile on her face.
