Chapter 105 Staying at Ryūdō Temple

Having been brought by Fujimura Taiga to tour the buildings of Academy, they arrived at Faculty office.

After drinking a simple cup of tea, the two sat down to enjoy their tea.

While Kuzuki drank tea, he rarely spoke. Fujimura Taiga, on the other hand, seemed always busy and would chatter away about Homunhara Academy during tea time.

“So, Teacher Kuzuki, I’ve told you all there is to tell. Any more questions?” Kuzuki didn’t answer her, so she asked: “Are the living arrangements ready? If you have any trouble, maybe I can help.”

Kuzuki knew Fujimura Taiga wasn’t joking; she truly had that energy.

As the daughter of the leader of the “Fujimura Group,” a blacklisted organization, her influence in the city was absolute. Solving housing issues was just a matter of course for her.

Refusing Fujimura Taiga’s offer, Kuzuki had her own plans.

“Oh well, there’s nothing I can do about that.” Fujimura Taiga shrugged and said: “I need to prepare for class. See you next time, Teacher Kuzuki.”

With boundless energy, Fujimura Taiga cheerfully ran off. After cleaning up the tea set, Kuzuki left Homunhara Academy. Today was a good day to do something else before her official induction tomorrow.

Exiting Homunhara Academy, she followed a gentle slope to the west side of Fuyuki City and arrived at Ryūdō Temple.

Ryūdō Temple was nestled atop Garden Cang Mountain. A long staircase had been carved out from the mountain foot leading up to the peak.

Even without using Mystic Eyes, Kuzuki could sense that Ryūdō Temple’s Heaven and Earth Vital Energy was more vibrant and concentrated than other places.

From a Magecraft perspective, this place was connected to ley lines.

After stepping onto Ryūdō Temple’s grounds, Kuzuki silently felt the changes in the surrounding Heaven and Earth Vital Energy.

[Compared to Tianlong World’s friendliness, Tsukihime Universe’s Heaven and Earth Vital Energy was almost like it had its own will. It not only ignored orders but also used methods like absorption, control, and manipulation to dominate Primal Energy……]

In Tianlong World, Qigong and Flying Heaven and Earth were pretty much the same. Even the power of Heavenly Frost Fist (from Feng Yun) had been enhanced by about 70-80%. It was a Martial Arts saint’s world.

However, in Tsukihime Universe, that sense of being restricted returned. She no longer dared to freely use Heaven and Earth Vital Energy. Not only that, but the power of some high-level Martial Arts techniques had significantly decreased.

In addition to the particularly strong restrictions on “Spirits,” there were few limitations on the three “Heart and Body Techniques.” In fact, they had been enhanced.

For example, Kuzuki refined her own body with Mana every day. She didn’t specialize in any specific physical training Martial Arts techniques, but her physical quality was far beyond that of ordinary humans.

After walking down the long mountain path, Kuzuki arrived at Ryūdō Temple on the mountain peak.

A weathered wooden gate stands at the top of a mountain path. Passing through the gate leads to a vast open space, with buildings lined up one after another in front of it.

The style resembles that of Ancient China, characterized by high gables and steep walls typical of temple architecture.

Ryūdō Temple is located at the westernmost part of Fuyuki City, far away from the bustling area of Xindu. It’s rarely visited by people for worship or meditation.

The cold and quiet open space is covered with scattered leaves. Kuzuki walks through the open space and enters the central hall of the temple.

Inside the vast hall, a grand Buddha statue sits with its eyes half-closed, observing the world.

Kuzuki does not believe in deities or know which deity is enshrined here. However, he pretends to follow local customs without any trouble.

He folds his hands together and closes his eyes while using Spiritual Awareness to sense the statue. The image before him turns out to be a mere clay doll with no spiritual essence.

“Oh, I see a visitor here.” A middle-aged monk steps out from the side of the hall once Kuzuki has finished his prayers and speaks aloud.

Kuzuki is not surprised by the monk’s presence. His perception had already detected the monk’s existence beforehand.

    “Are you the temple’s head?”

The monk nods and says, “There’s no harm in climbing the three palaces; perhaps you’re here for something else.”

Kuzuki nods and says, “I just arrived in this city. I wanted a quiet place to live, and I think this temple is perfect. Can I stay here?”

Everything Kuzuki says is the truth without any lies. The monk smiles and says, “Of course, it’s fate that you’ve come here. Stay at the temple.”

Ryūdō Temple has a very large area with numerous ancient buildings forming a complex.

There are about ten monks living inside the temple, and monks can marry and have children.

In reality, Ryūdō Temple is passed down within the main family. When the head monk grows old, he hands over the position to his son, continuing this legacy through generations.

The head monk has two sons; one is in university and the other is in high school.

Ryūdō Temple’s area is very large with many rooms. Having Kuzuki stay would be no problem, as there are plenty of empty guest rooms that can be cleaned up for him.

The head monk is a kind and friendly person. Because he rarely sees visitors, he chats with Kuzuki for a long time.

He stops talking to Kuzuki when his son, Ryuudou Issei, returns from Homunhara Academy later that day.

Ryuudou Issei wears the standard Academy uniform, a short-haired girl with purple hair and glasses. His demeanor resembles a refined scholarly type, not someone who has been rigorously trained from a young age as a monk.

Kuzuki is more courteous to Ryuudou Issei than usual, so Ryuudou Issei dives back into the monotonous and strict training routine.

After finishing dinner, Kuzuki returned to his room early.

The room isn’t too big or small. Besides a bed on the tatami mat and a short table, there’s nothing else in it.

Kuzuki is sitting cross-legged on the floor, with his eyes closed.

If he weren’t in the Darkness, Kuzuki’s chest would rise and fall very slowly, with misty white vapor rising from above his head.

Due to having cultivated the Northern Darkness Divine Skill, Kuzuki has turned his daily training into internal cultivation through a method called “Raida Fudou Tanren” (Thunderstrike Immobility Forging).

    From motion to stillness.

After some time, Kuzuki took a long breath and blew the paper window panes with a soft sound.

Opening his eyes, he saw a flash of divine light passing by, illuminating the Darkness and filling the room with white light.

[Internal Energy is indeed vastly different from Fighting Spirit. While they can be used together, they cannot be cultivated simultaneously. If you cultivate one, you should abandon the other for better results.]

Fighting Spirit is born from Blood and relies on techniques such as Breathing and Walking to create a unique Strength that permeates the entire body. It emphasizes attack and outbreaks that are fierce and violent but cannot be sustained for long.

Internal Energy, however, is derived from the microscopic air of water and blood. It is born from stillness, resides in the Dantian, and focuses on accumulation. Its power is far inferior to Fighting Spirit but is better for maintaining health and possesses unique abilities that never diminish.

For Kuzuki’s skills, such as the Seven Wounds Fist, Heavenly Frost Fist (from Feng Yun), Scorching Sun Fist, Military Killing Fist, Hokuto Shinken (Fist of the North Star), Hadouken, and Five Forms Fist with Poisonous Snake 99 Techniques, Internal Energy is used to its best advantage.

The Five Forms Fist and Poisonous Snake 99 Techniques are too low-level and do not involve any energy-based techniques. They rely solely on physical strength and physical Tech to drive them. As for Gouken (Strong Fist), it’s simple and relies on the Eight Gates (Hachimon Tonkaku) technique, which also doesn’t require energy to drive.

[However, Fighting Spirit and Internal Energy are not fish and bear that cannot be obtained together. I have an Assassination Book in hand, and with ample time, I can use both Fighting Spirit and Internal Energy if I invest the time.]
