Chapter 107 The Power of Techniques
Holy Grail.
A Tool capable of fulfilling wishes.
Around 1800 years ago, the EinzbernFamily, TohsakaFamily, and MagiFamily traveled to Fuyuki City to perform a large-scale Magecraft ritual in an attempt to reach the Root, naming it the Holy Grail War.
The Holy Grail created by the Cup of Heaven was named the “726th Holy Grail” by the Holy Church and, due to its ability to gather a significant amount of Mana on some level, could fulfill wishes to some extent for a long time without being distinguishable from the real thing.
In short, the Holy Grail can indeed fulfill wishes to some extent.
…… To some extent.
Becoming a god through wish.
Is it becoming an omnipotent and omniscient god? Or becoming a higher life with abilities like Flight, Undying, Premonition, Instant Movement, and Telepathy?
Or is even that uncertain?
If wish were to rule the world.
Would it be brainwashing 70 billion humans into believing you are their master, distorting reality to place wishers above all others, or simply adding another insignificant title as the nominal ruler of the world?
Without wish, these things remain unknown.
Kuzuki has yet to find his own life’s meaning, let alone that of wish.
He wanted to participate in the Holy Grail War not for wish but to change his fate.
··········
At dawn, six o’clock.
Kuzuki wakes up precisely on time.
The Ryūdō Temple and Homunhara Academy are far apart, taking an ordinary person about two hours to walk there.
For Kuzuki, it would take around one hour if he didn’t attract attention.
At the morning assembly, the original class director introduced Kuzuki to Class A students.
Sitting in front of him was Issei Ryuudou, who stared surprised at Kuzuki. This man had appeared yesterday at Ryūdō Temple and today suddenly transformed into a teacher.
Maybe it’s just fate.
After completing the process, Kuzuki sat down in the classroom to listen to the lesson.
He had a one-month internship period before he could officially become a class director.
At the end of the classroom, Kuzuki carefully observed the students inside.
The number of students was not many, only about thirty individuals.
Among them, Kuzuki recognized two people.
One was a black twin-tails girl and the other was a short-haired girl with a shawl.
Rin Tohsaka and…
The one behind her, though familiar, had an unknown tool body name.
Kuzuki opened the book in her hand and quickly found her name, Ayako Mitsuzuri, in the student handbook.
A flash of light passed by, opening Mystic Eyes for a brief moment.
The girl named Ayako Mitsuzuri had an excellent body quality. If Rin Tohsaka hadn’t known she was a Magus beforehand, one would only see her as an ordinary student.
However, upon closer inspection, Rin Tohsaka’s body quality was also not insignificant, surpassing many of the same-generation girls around her.
The class ended quickly, and Kuzuki didn’t linger in the classroom for long.
Leaving the classroom, she followed the corridor to Class C’s classroom.
In an instant, Mystic Eyes opened unnoticed as she passed through the door, allowing her to take in all the students inside. Mystic Eyes only stayed open for a single instant before closing again, so no one around her noticed anything unusual.
Only a red-haired boy with short hair furrowed his brows strangely, sensing an intense feeling within him. This sensation lasted for such a brief moment that he didn’t pay it much attention.
Even without relying on her vision, Kuzuki could still discern the general states of everyone inside through her Super Sensory Perception.
She wasn’t surprised by the boy’s sharpness; after all, he was none other than Emiya Shirou, the protagonist of the Holy Grail War… a Magus with only half a tail.
A small Homunhara Academy, known as a place where geniuses hide in plain sight.
The seven Master candidates of the Holy Grail War include four who are currently at the Academy.
Day one passed quickly. Kuzuki only made a few laps around the building, using Mystic Eyes to scan everyone else, before returning to her routine of practical training and listening to lectures.
After school, Evening.
Issei Ryuudou had to go to Student Council for Board Member duties, so he apologized to Kuzuki and couldn’t accompany her all the way.
Kuzuki didn’t say much. The individual quickly returned to Ryūdō Temple.
In one year’s time, before the Holy Grail War begins…
Kuzuki needs to be hidden, enduring. Quietly waiting for that day to come, and before that day comes, make as much preparation as possible for it.
The other side of Garden Cang Mountain.
A slope about 7-8 miles away from Ryūdō Temple.
For some reason, there was an open space in the dense forest, covered with fallen leaves.
Kuzuki was not wearing a suit, but a monk’s coarse cloth clothes, which made it easier to move.
He stood quietly in front of a big tree with his hands hanging down, and the sunset stretched his shadow.
The shadow on the ground suddenly moved, and one of its arms sank into the shadow of the tree.
This was not a visual dislocation caused by Light, but Kuzuki really punched the tree with his fist, and half of his arm was buried in the tree.
Kuzuki pulled back his arm. On the trunk of the tree in front of him, there were many round holes as big as Punch’s head, and the broken ends were smooth and flat.
This was a strike that used only 50% of his physical strength, twisted into a stream of Hard Energy, which could produce this effect on a hard tree trunk.
Kuzuki continued to test.
He suddenly slapped out with his left hand, Silent and Unnoticed, and gently landed on one side of the tree trunk.
After peeling off the bark, the wood fibers of the part that was hit had completely broken and turned into powder.
Kuzuki’s five fingers were like hooks, and he kept digging into the trunk. He found that a part that was 30 centimeters deep was completely shattered.
If this palm hit a person…
The part hit will directly become necrotic, congested, and then ulcerated. Not only is there no way to save it, but it will also cause great pain before death.
This is Soft Energy.
However, Kuzuki has already achieved a Realm that combines both hardness and softness, so he rarely uses Soft Energy Tech alone. This time it was just for testing.
Then, Kuzuki continued to destroy the tree.
He threw a punch, and the moment it landed on the trunk, the fist suddenly shook, and the bark on the other side of the trunk made a “Puff” sound and burst open.
This is Penetrating Energy, which can penetrate obstacles with Strength, such as common obstacles such as stone and wood. Kuzuki can send Strength to a place three meters away.
After a slight adjustment, Kuzuki punched again.
It landed on the tree trunk, crushing it like a dead tree, and made a round table-sized gap in the trunk of the tree that two people could hug together. The broken wood fibers spread outward like waves.
Layered Energy is very powerful, and the Destruction effect it causes far exceeds that of other Tech.
Squeak~
The big tree emitted a groan under the weight of One Sound, collapsing through the gap.
Slamming down onto the ground, it stirred up dust and leaves.
Kuzuki grabbed the trunk in the middle, exerting a little force. His fingers then dug into the trunk. Then he exerted a little force, lifting the nearly twenty-foot-long trunk.
Holding the trunk, Kuzuki began his Physical Body training.
An hour later, Kuzuki gently tossed the trunk aside, revealing One Layer of sweat on his face.
“This method of training is outdated. If The World wants to avoid attracting attention, it should perform some Tech-based training instead···”
