Chapter 124 The Never-Ending Cycle
I am Komuro Takashi, an ordinary high school student from a Japanese island.
On a certain day during my second year of high school, something happened that changed my life forever.
The reason was that I was kicked out of the classroom by a teacher, and ended up witnessing a violent attack in the hallway.
I saw an office worker man attacking Fujimi Academy’s physical education teacher. The teacher was bitten and died, but it wasn’t just that—he was revived and then attacked others!
Witnessing this bizarre event, my brain almost shut down.
Is a bite fatal? A dead person coming back to life? Attacking living people?
This was just like the movies!
Coming out of the shock, I suddenly thought of something—my ex-girlfriend, Miyamoto Rei, was still in class, having a good time.
In that urgent situation, I didn’t have time to think more. I immediately went to the classroom and brought Miyamoto Rei out.
She was confused, but there wasn’t time to explain. I had to make sure our safety was guaranteed.
·········
After a fierce battle, I, Miyamoto Rei, and her boyfriend—my good friend Hao—escaped the attack of the dead bodies and ended up on the rooftop. But Hao accidentally got bitten.
I knew Hao’s days were numbered, and he knew it too. In the end, he handed Rei over to me and died with regret.
Oh right, I killed him myself……
The feeling of killing someone without any reason made me feel a strange sense of relief. Or did it? I mean, how could I have done that?
After that, we went through another life-or-death struggle and successfully reunited with the remaining survivors in the school.
My classmates, the school nurse, Twin-tails, and Otaku.
We six individuals formed a small group and struggled to survive in this zombie hell.
Hiding in the faculty office, we watched TV for news about what was happening outside.
Not only Tokonosu City, Riots broke out all over the world. Yes, the government is still lying to itself by defining the current situation as riots. It’s really funny.
Although the road ahead is bleak, we must survive.
After discussing, we decided to escape the school first and then go on to rescue our families based on proximity.
In a previous battle, I noticed a pattern with corpses: they are always very sensitive to sound. If we don’t make any noise…
We succeeded.
I used my own life to verify this point.
Did I ever dare to do that before? Or was I just hallucinating? But in this situation, it seems not bad at all.
Jukawa School Medic will drive a car. There’s a large bus parked in the parking lot; we can use the bus to escape the school.
After starting our action, I accidentally discovered something: the number of corpses in the school has significantly decreased, and their density is now very low, which is beneficial for us escaping the school.
Then our actions seemed to inspire other survivors to follow suit. They followed behind us as we escaped and safely boarded the bus.
Finally, in a chaotic ride, we fled Fujimi Academy, the place where everything began.
However, changes in my life are not what I mentioned above.
The next part is more important.
As the bus rolled down the mountain road, it picked up cherry blossoms that had fallen along the side of the road. No one spoke; only the sound of the wheels turning could be heard.
It looked like we had escaped certain death, but I knew the situation was far from over.
In the reflection in the rear window, I saw a scene I will never forget.
A figure, like a bird, flew down from the tree branch and was about to collide with our car.
Alien? Superpowers user? Future human? Mechanical prosthetic?
I was stunned.
But what truly surprised me was in front of me, her face as pale as death made me look forward, and then my own face turned as pale as hers.
A giant with a height of four to five floors, like a pile of muscles, was running straight toward us!
I can’t understand the current situation at all. Whether it’s common sense or imagination, this scenario has never occurred before.
The Giant just lightly brushed the car body, and the bus rolled out like a piece of paper box.
During the rolling, collisions, and shaking, I finally agreed with something for the first time: Buckle your seatbelt is really important!
Everything that happened afterward looked like a dream, but I guarantee it was an event without any water content.
The person behind us and the Giant ahead collided in battle.
I can’t describe the specific battle scenes. It felt like two tyrannosaurus rexes ··· no, two godzillas fighting beside you.
Earthquakes, loud noises, fierce winds.
It was like an earthquake combined with a tornado and thunder all exploding around you at once. No one who’s seen that scene before can imagine how desperate I felt.
At one point, I doubted whether the next second I would be torn apart like a doll in a spiral grinder.
However, luck was on my side; I survived.
I watched countless fire meteors pass overhead, like molten lava from a volcano or a rare meteor rain that appeared once every thousand years. I etched this image into the deepest part of my brain.
Lying in a burned-out crater, my mind was blank; I didn’t think about anything.
Until…
A man walked over from the edge of the huge crater and looked down at me.
The sunlight poured down from above him, and in an instant, I felt like I saw……
·········
The remaining flames were still burning after a fierce battle. This place became unusually quiet.
With injuries that left me nearly dead, Beiming Buxingshen repaired them in minutes (even broken limbs only take about ten seconds to heal).
Without Kuzuki paying any attention, the survivors of the battle aftershock crawled out one by one from the iron barrels.
Kuzuki’s clothes were heavily damaged, leaving only his pants intact.
He walked to the edge of a Pit created by a Fire Meteor, staring at the high school student lying inside. Just about to speak, he was interrupted by a sense of impending danger.
A bright star rose from the distant sea and ascended into the sky.
Kuzuki’s Body Surface rippled with goosebumps as a cold sensation traveled up his spine.
It was a Nuclear Bomb, only a Nuclear Bomb could instill such a terrifying sense of danger in Kuzuki before it even landed.
He quickly scanned the surroundings and made an instant decision.
Despite not knowing the reason behind Tool Body, he felt that these individuals were somehow key to their survival.
After making his decision, Kuzuki jumped back and landed several dozen meters away. His arms then suddenly transformed into a trail of afterimages as they charged toward the ground.
What he had to do was simple: dig a hole in the ground before the Nuclear Bomb struck, acting as a shield.
“Thud-lung-lung!”
Within just 10 seconds, Kuzuki created a hole with a diameter of three meters and depth of several dozen meters!
He jumped into the hole, landing on the extremely solid ground at the bottom. He then punched one side again to create an L-shaped tunnel.
He quickly jumped back onto the ground and began dragging one survivor after another down into the hole.
One… three… six…
When he was about to drag the seventh individual, Kuzuki’s intuition reached its peak. It felt like countless needles were pricking his back.
He made a snap decision and abandoned his attempt to save the eye-piercing purple-haired man. He turned around and jumped back into the hole before landing on the ground, immediately collapsing the tunnel with a burst of energy.
Amidst the falling rocks, a super sun blazed brightly in the earth.
Three seconds ago.
Shitou Kouichi had just regained consciousness and was dazedly staring at the star that fell from the sky. Tears streamed down his face.
“What?”
A loud explosion erupted, burning out Shitou Kouichi’s eyes in 0.01 seconds. He was then consumed by the ensuing light and heat.
·········
Lightning, Darkness.
Six individuals united into one group, waiting for the final remnants of Human’s ultimate weapon to dissipate.
When everything was at rest.
A familiar wave of energy swept across the horizon from the heavens and quickly spread out over tens of thousands of miles before returning in a vortex.
In the next second, Light turned from dark to light.
When Kuzuki regained his senses, he discovered himself standing in a classroom with students actively studying below him.
