Chapter 135 Summer vacation and Cultivation
July 21st, the last day before summer vacation.
The atmosphere at the Academy is just like this hot summer, bustling with noise.
The upcoming long summer vacation has made every student’s mood lively. Meanwhile, the teachers are also very relaxed since they don’t have to work and can still get paid, which is something most people dream of.
On the lawn in front of the school building, and their students sit together enjoying lunch.
Kuzuki stands expressionless at the Faculty office on the Second floor, looking out the window at a distance, seemingly deep in thought…
“Kuzuki-san, want to have a cup of tea?”
Fujimura Taiga stretches lazily and walks into the Office, inviting Kuzuki.
“Sure.”
Kuzuki turns around and skillfully walks to the side of the desk, taking out the tea set.
After setting up the tea set and boiling two cups of tea, Kuzuki gives a cup to Fujimura Taiga and then quietly enjoys the refreshing aroma of the tea leaves.
Fujimura Taiga smiles cheerfully at Kuzuki as he boils the tea, without realizing she sits still until Kuzuki hands her a cup. She then holds it in her hand and says thank you.
Steam rises from the hot water, and Fujimura Taiga looks intently at Mist, unconsciously rotating the teacup in her hand.
“Time flies by so quickly. In a blink of an eye, Teacher Kuzuki has been teaching for half a year.”
Kuzuki doesn’t respond.
Fujimura Taiga isn’t fazed either. After spending some time together as tea companions, she knows that Kuzuki won’t speak while drinking tea, so she simply says it quietly, and he listens in silence.
“The summer vacation is about to start, and I’ll get to enjoy a nice rest. Hah-hah…”
Fujimura Taiga smiles happily while holding her cup, looking forward to the upcoming summer vacation where she can sleep in lazily.
Kuzuki drinks all of the water from his cup and then refills it.
Fujimura Taiga can’t imitate this way of drinking tea. Only Kuzuki seems completely unaffected by the hot water.
“Speaking of which, Teacher Kuzuki is quite a hidden gem. His skills in kendo have really impressed me.” Fujimura Taiga says, setting down her cup and leaning forward with both hands on the desk, staring intently at Kuzuki.
“That kind of skill isn’t something you can just practice randomly. Teacher Kuzuki, are you a big expert in martial arts?”
Before, there was a conflict incident at the Kendo Club. Two students fought for some reason, and Kuzuki happened to pass by and stopped them. This scene was seen by Taiga Fujimura, who then asked this question.
It’s undeniable that Taiga Fujimura is exceptionally skilled in this area. Whether it’s due to an incredible intuition or a lucky streak, he consistently impresses everyone with his abilities.
Kuzuki shook his head in denial.
After putting away his body, Taiga Fujimura smirked slightly and said, “I’m pretty confident about my skills in Kendo~ I’ve even reached the five-kyū level.”
Indeed, Taiga Fujimura’s expertise in Kendo is unmatched. He even has a nickname, “Winter Tree Tiger,” though he personally doesn’t like it.
“Hey, summer vacation will be really boring if there’s nothing to do. Let’s try some Kendo! How about that?”
After finishing his last cup of tea, Kuzuki said, “Summer vacation doesn’t have anything mandatory to do. Wasting time like this is a fun way to pass it.”
“So you agree?” Taiga Fujimura picked up the warm teacup and took a sip before saying, “It’s perfect for visiting Ryūdō Temple with Shirou and Sakura/Cherry. Let’s go with that!”
Wow……
After finishing his tea, Taiga Fujimura made a satisfied sound.
“I’ll leave the teacups for you to clean up. I have other things to do. Bye-bye~” With an apologetic smile, he hurriedly left.
Kuzuki cleaned the tea set while thinking about a problem.
The Homunhara Academy is really impressive in some ways.
I don’t even want to mention that it gathers four master-level students. Just considering how many exceptional individuals have come from this school, it’s enough to make one marvel…… Of course, not in terms of academic achievements.
Ayako Mitsuzuri is a Martial Arts Spirit family member who excels in all 18 Martial Arts styles. She’s a Karate master, Kyudo master, and Naginata master. There’s also Ryuudou Issei from the Ryūdō Temple monk lineage, who was already a Karate master before meeting Kuzuki and is now considered a Hokuto transmission student and Martial Arts candidate after encountering him.
And there’s Taiga Fujimura, known as “Winter Tree Tiger,” a strong individual with his own nickname. He’s a Kyudo Martial Arts expert at the master level…… Emiya Shirou. Tohsaka Rin, known as Devil Muscle Rin, is skilled in Bajiquan.
And Kuzuki himself, an Assassin’s Fist Inheritor.
A small school that gathers so many exceptional individuals and stands shoulder to shoulder with the best of the best.
·········
Like a person stuck outside a bathroom stall, frantically hoping for “the green light” while staring at “the red sign,” every student eagerly hopes that Time will move faster, just a little bit faster.
However, the more they focus on it, the slower Time seems to move. It ticks by one second at a time.
Dingling……
The bell for dismissal resonates throughout the Academy like a command from the golden horns of a military band, transforming the tense atmosphere into cheers.
Finally……
Summer vacation has arrived.
Following the flow of people out of the school gates, Kuzuki walks steadily along the side of the road.
“Finally on break, oh ha……hurry up, hurry up.” Makidera Kaede whirls around Kuzuki like a tornado, with Himuro Kane and Saegusa Yukika following behind her.
“Teacher Kuzuki, goodbye.” The two politely greeted Kuzuki before quickly catching up to Makidera Kaede.
After turning onto the crossroads, the number of pedestrians suddenly decreased.
Kuzuki quickens his pace and returns to Ryūdō Temple in just an hour.
Not returning to the temple, Kuzuki heads to the other mountain peak at Garden Cang Mountain.
The peak is relatively flat with trees surrounding it, covered with a layer of fallen leaves and featuring a large stone in the open center.
Ryūdō Temple is one of the four training sites for winter wood, with higher mana density compared to other locations.
Due to the effectiveness of physical training in the outside world being far less than that of [Training] Space, Kuzuki usually only practices internal cultivation or breathing and walking techniques in the outside world.
Kuzuki leaps onto the large stone and sits cross-legged.
Inhale……exhale……
As Kuzuki’s chest rises, the surrounding air surges like ocean waves, one wave after another.
When he inhales, the air within a 10-meter radius is pulled in, creating a breeze that gathers fallen leaves toward his body. When he exhales, the air within a 10-meter radius is expelled, scattering the wind pressure and blowing the leaves outward.
Until the moon is high in the sky, Kuzuki remains in the breathing and walking technique’s cultivation state.
Despite missing dinner, Kuzuki isn’t hungry.
At his current level, a five-day retreat is no burden at all.
Kuzuki closes his eyes and sits in meditation, falling asleep as he enters the [Training] Space of the Assassination Book.
Upon entering the space, his body immediately feels a sense of pressure.
Kuzuki jumped twice in the [Training] Space, feeling the gravity of this space, which is about 2.5 times that of the outside world.
As his strength increased, the gravity of this space also continued to grow.
Once he arrived at this space, Kuzuki could train his Physical Body without any hesitation.
First, he trained using the Eight Gates (Hachimon Tonkaku).
Now, Kuzuki can directly open the fourth gate and perform heavy lifting while maintaining the sixth gate’s state to suppress his Strength.
The constant opening and closing of the Eight Gates caused damage to his body, which could be perfectly repaired by the Training Space. However, the intense pain caused by opening the Eight Gates could not be compensated for in any other way; he had to endure it.
Constantly opening and closing the Gate of Pain (Shōmon) caused even more severe pain than maintaining its state. It was like repeatedly poking his nerves, internal organs, or cutting meat with a dull knife.
The overflowing green Energy Stream continuously collided with the surrounding atmosphere, creating fierce winds.
“Coughed”…
Kuzuki exhaled deeply, stopping his instant opening Tech training. His forehead was covered in sweat, clearly in extreme pain, but his expression remained calm and composed.
“The sixth gate is fully mastered; let’s try to hit the seventh gate or portal.”
