Chapter 142 Happy Priest, Part II

Fuyuki City, Shin’yama Town, Twin Mansion.

Twin Mansion has been abandoned for a long time and is known as Ghost Mansion because people have seen shadows moving inside it at night.

In the dark and quiet mansion, a shadowy figure stands in an empty room.

A short-haired girl with purple hair wearing a red dress and a red bow tie is accompanied by Pupil, her right eye marked with a tear. She has a mature appearance but seems young inside.

Bazett Fraga McRemitz, a Magus from an ancient Irish magical family, one of the strongest executors of Mage’s Association Sealing Designation, and invited to participate in Holy Grail War this time.

She stands in front of a mirror of the same height, adjusting her black leather gloves with a slight smile on her face.

Summoning Lancer as Cu Chulainn (Lancer) is really good.

After all, she has been obsessed with his legend since childhood and even thinks about his deeds in her dreams sometimes.

Unimaginable, this time Holy Grail War allowed her to summon him through crystal media, realizing her lifelong dream of having him by her side. Just for that alone, this Holy Grail War was not in vain.

Smiling at the mirror, Bazett sits on a chair and thinks about her next strategy.

Lancer has already been sent out to gather intelligence, leaving only her here. However, she doesn’t worry about her own safety or say she’s worried about it. The real thing to worry about is people trying to hit on her because, from some perspective, her danger level isn’t lower than that of a Servant.

“With Lancer’s gun and my Magecraft equipment, both Attack and Defense are perfect. As long as I’m careful, the Holy Grail will be mine. That way, maybe Lancer can stay in this world forever…”

    Ding…

A warning device on the desk suddenly rings, triggering the Magecraft alarm set around Ghost Mansion.

Bazett quickly stands up and a stone-like device appears floating behind her. She grips her gloves and walks toward it to trigger the Magecraft.

Kotomine Kirei, wearing black priest clothing, slowly walks out of the forest near Twin Mansion.

    “It’s been a while, Bazett.”

Bazett relaxes her eyebrows and smiles, saying, “Just call my name, Kirei?”

Despite belonging to two different organizations, she is acquainted with Kotomine Kirei. However, their relationship cannot be made public.

Six years ago, the two met due to a shared mission. The situation forced them to work together, and since then, they’ve crossed paths a few times in secret.

From that point on, they became close, sneaking around the Organization to help each other out.

After realizing it was someone familiar, Bazett sent Matsushita away and had the Strange Stone floating behind her revert to its original state before hanging it back on her waist.

“With your personality, coming to find me must be about something. Let’s go inside and talk.”

Bazett brought Kotomine Kirei into the aquarium room.

Inside the modest aquarium room, there was no place to accommodate guests, so the two didn’t have a formal personality and simply stood in the room to chat.

“From your arm, I can see that the Summon ritual has been completed, right?”

    “Yes, I summoned a dream-like helper.”

“I didn’t perceive any Mana fluctuations. Did you send out scouts?”

“Of course not! After all, the current situation is unclear, so we can’t formulate a strategy.” Bazett raised her eyebrows.

Looking at Kotomine Kirei’s calm demeanor, Bazett felt there was something odd about him, but she didn’t think much of it.

Kotomine Kirei smiled and said, “That’s your style. Let’s get down to business.”

“What is this letter from that subordinate of yours?”

“This letter was given to you by a colleague. Once you read it, everything will become clear…”

Kotomine Kirei took a step forward and handed her the letter.

Bazett accepted the letter and began reading it.

Kotomine Kirei circled around to her back, his face displaying a strange smile, as if he had just watched a comedy for the tenth time and was about to laugh at the next joke.

“Freiga, trust is cheap yet expensive. It can be given without any price, but when you make a wrong judgment, it might cost your life…” A voice echoed from behind her.

Before Bazett could understand the meaning of Kotomine Kirei’s words, a cold flash of light appeared before her eyes.

Basset heard the sound of bone separation.

    Gasp…

The sound was small but close by.

Basset’s left arm moved slightly, and severe pain shot through her wrist.

The elbow joint and forearm disappeared. Blood gushed out from the broken area.

    Why?

Why do you have to act this way? We were supposed to be friends, weren’t we?

When Basset fell, she saw a malicious smile on the face of the large man behind her. In an instant, she understood.

This man never treated her as a friend; he had always harbored malice toward his friends. Everything was her own fault…

    Was that a mistake?

Kirei Kotomine retrieved the Black Keys (a Holy Church item used to expel demons, only the hilt is real; the blade is made of Mana) and smiled as he picked up the broken arm…Command Spell magic crest on his left back.

He said nothing as Basset gasped for breath in the blood pool, her eyes dimming.

The Command Spell magic crest was connected to Magecraft Magic Crest. Kirei Kotomine violently severed the connection, even if it meant undoing Undying. It didn’t matter; he left her to experience death inch by inch, bit by bit, in despair, feeling a strange pleasure.

    ……That’s an amazing feeling.

“You guy, what did you do?”

A blue figure appeared at the door, holding a crimson gun. He was shocked by the sudden turn of events inside.

    “Gáe Bolg!”

The angry Lancer wanted to unleash Noble Phantasm for his enemies’ pleasure without hesitation.

But Kirei Kotomine acted faster, saying before he could speak: “By the name of Command Spell, order your master, Lancer!”

    Gasp!

    Command Spell is in effect.

Blue Figure lowered his hand holding the magic gun.

Even if the opponent is a friend, if they are in an enemy faction, they will One Side laugh at bad luck One Side fight to the death; even if the opponent is not wearing Heaven Wearing’s armor, but as long as they are allies, they will stick to their promises and protect you within their limits without attacking you during the period… This is Lancer’s Code.

No matter what this Master does, as long as it’s still a Master, Lancer will remain loyal.

“By the name of Command Spell, go and assist Atlam in killing the caster. If things don’t work out, retreat immediately.”

    [11]Hmph……

    Another Command Spell takes effect.

Blue Figure narrowed its red eyes at Kotomine Kirei and disappeared into a Spirit state under the command of Command Spell.

Kotomine Kirei showed a strange smile and walked out of the Ghost Mansion without turning back.

In the blood pool, Bazett endured severe pain and used her last bit of Mana to activate a spell. Even though it was just a simple Magecraft, its power and effect were unlikely to be very strong.

No matter what, I don’t want to die. I can’t die.

There are still things left undone… Oh right… Revenge… I want to revenge against Kotomine Kirei…

    Who will save me…
