Chapter 148 Preparations for Taking the Holy Grail

Kuzuki has been in Youth Vat Enhancement for several days.

The enhanced Titan Ointment makes him feel his Strength has slightly increased, and a special Mana-like concept is attached to his arms, further increasing his FistCasualty power.

For an Ordinary Person, this would be on the level of a super-enhancement that overturns the world. On Kuzuki’s side, even a slight increase in Strength is a rare enhancement effect.

After signing a contract with Medea (Caster), he continues to maintain his usual rhythm at the Academy while occasionally providing Life Force-filled Blood.

Medea (Caster) advised Kuzuki to stay at Ryūdō Temple for safety, but Kuzuki refused.

“I already told you about this before,” Kuzuki said, then revealed the Masters and Servants participating in the fifth Holy Grail War to Medea (Caster).

Although he was curious about where Kuzuki obtained the Intelligence, Medea (Caster) was more concerned with the content of the Intelligence.

Einzbern preemptively summoned a half-god, using either a master or a man-made Little Holy Grail. The Matou family stole fragments from the previous Holy Grail and created a fake Holy Grail, secretly plotting something else. Holy ChurchAgentKotomine Kirei has not only retained remnants of Servants from the previous era but also took another Servant from others.

Even if they violated the rules to summon an Assassin, it doesn’t provide much advantage compared to other methods.

He thought he was the only one cheating, but unexpectedly, others are not fools and have their own ways.

Without knowing these, the outcome might still be uncertain. However, with this crucial Intelligence revealed, the scale of victory has tilted heavily in his favor.

The old battle plan was to absorb Mana from townspeople and take control of one job class (Saber, Lancer, or Archer) among the Three Knights, then use the advantage of multiple Servants to defeat other Masters and win the battle.

However, looking at it now, there is a better way to fight.

    Late at night.

    The Ryūdō Temple’s library.

Despite being from the 21st century, the seemingly ancient Ryūdō Temple actually has very modern facilities.

Like a small library, the well-lit reading room of the Ryūdō Temple contains Ryuudou Issei, who is organizing books and checking for signs of aging or damage.

On the other side of the long table, Kuzuki sits in a chair reading rare books.

As mentioned before, Kuzuki seems particularly skilled at rote memorization. With tens of thousands of books in the library, their content is almost fully memorized by him.

Medea (Caster) enters wearing a light blue housecoat, her ears hidden by Magecraft, slightly lowering her appearance but still maintaining her large Beauty level.

Seeing Kuzuki, she smiles and sits across from him, resting her elbows on the table as she waits quietly for him to finish reading.

Kuzuki naturally notices Medea (Caster)’s gaze and doesn’t make her wait. After marking a page with a bookmark, he closes the book and stands up, saying, “Let’s go.”

    “Yes, Souichirou-sama,” she responds.

Medea (Caster) follows Kuzuki out of the room, matching his pace as they leave together.

Issei Ryuudou saw this and involuntarily furrowed his brow.

“Since this woman arrived, Teacher Kuzuki has changed, hasn’t gone to Back Mountain, and hasn’t taught me Cultivation either. Something’s definitely off.” Issei Ryuudou pushed up his glasses and his eyes flashed with a wise light.

“I’ll grab your hair by the roots, so don’t let anything slip!”

After walking through a long corridor, courtyard, Kuzuki and Medea (Caster) arrived at the resting area.

The room lit up with light, and they sat facing each other.

“Caster, what’s going on?” Kuzuki asked, as Medea (Caster) had been busy setting up a base or monitoring the movements of Matou and Einzbern, occasionally defending against Servants that came to probe them. She rarely showed her face, so today she came to the Library of Hidden Books to find him, likely for an important reason.

“In quiet moments, please call my name, Souichirou-sama.” Medea (Caster) always liked being serious in unimportant places.

    “Found something, Medea (Caster)?”

Medea (Caster) smiled slightly and said seriously: “I believe, given the current situation, Master should stay at Ryūdō Temple for his own safety.”

Ryūdō Temple has a natural defensive barrier, which Medea (Caster) worked tirelessly to enhance. Now, the defense is as solid as stone, and Servants can’t just waltz in. They have to break through the front door.

Over these past few days, Sasaki Kojirou (Assassin) has successfully repelled three waves of probing Servants.

Since they were probes, after being discovered by Sasaki Kojirou (Assassin), the two sides simply fought and then retreated. However, the incoming Servants were no pushover.

With a Berserker equipped with God Hand (Twelve Labors), a Lancer armed with a Core Magic Gun, and a Rider with Petrifying Mystic Eyes, if they weren’t just probing, an actual battle would easily take down Sasaki Kojirou (Assassin). After all, Sasaki Kojirou (Assassin) has a severe weakness—she can’t leave the mountain gate.

If it wasn’t for Kuzuki’s earlier warning, after fending off three waves of attackers, she would have likely become arrogant and confident that this Holy Grail War had no worthy opponents.

But now that they know better, the best course of action is to conserve their strength, guide the other few Masters into battle, and use her Magecraft to quietly take care of everything. She can eliminate the exposed Masters one by one.

Tohsaka, Matou, Emiya—all three individuals can be used as a foothold. Once she has them under control, she’ll deal with the leftover Holy Grail first, then kill off the most dangerous Berserker, and the Lancer is no problem at all. On this side, there are four Servants—she can easily overwhelm them. Finally, she’ll take Einzbern’s Little Holy Grail by force to achieve her goal of staying with Souichirou-sama…

“No need to worry. Before my Master identity is exposed, no one will attack me, and I’m not without self-reliance.” Kuzuki refused Medea (Caster)’s request.

She bit her lip and said reluctantly: “Even if my Master isn’t exposed, there’s still a chance she could be affected by other Servant battles. Even though I’ve strengthened Souichirou with Magecraft…”

“No need to worry—I trust you as much as you trust me.” Kuzuki said.

Medea (Caster) said: “Then, please let me join your side.”

“Can do. I’ll hold you to that.”

After saying all that, Medea (Caster) quickly left and disappeared into the shadows of the wall.

Kuzuki watched her leave, feeling like Medea (Caster) was hiding something from him.

He knew what Medea (Caster) was scheming, and Kuzuki had his own schemes in mind.

His plan is simple. Find an opportunity, gather the other Servants together, eliminate the enemy Servants, and take the Holy Grail.

That’s all there is to it.

On one side, Medea (Caster), who disappeared from Kuzuki’s room, reappears at Ryūdō Temple’s lake behind the temple buildings.

The area of Ryūdō Temple’s buildings is vast. The entire mountain peak of Garden Cang Mountain falls within its range, including a small pond.

Mist rises over the lake surface and drifts toward the shore.

Medea (Caster) waves her arms, and a circular array appears on the ground. A figure gradually emerges from the array.

A woman in a red-and-beige suit stands there, with nothing on her left wrist. She is currently unconscious.

Knowing that Medea (Caster) has participated in the Holy Grail War, she certainly remembers the importance of intelligence. Tohsaka, Matou, Emiya, Einzbern, Fuyuki Church, and even Miyagawa Bridge have been assigned numerous Servants by Medea (Caster) to monitor any movements.

In a deep mountain inn in Fuyuki City, Medea (Caster) found Lancer’s master. Although Kuzuki only roughly mentioned her, Medea (Caster) intentionally searched and easily found the woman.

“Oh my, oh dear! What a mess! Betrayed by someone I trusted deeply, with no outlet for my intense hatred. Use me!” Medea (Caster) looks at the woman with an unclear expression in her eyes, gently touching her face.

The Command Spell was forcibly cut off, causing damage to her Magic Circuit. She should have been doomed to die, but the woman’s strong will and desire to survive allowed her to use Magecraft to freeze her own life force, making herself undying.

However, this only delays her death. Once the Magecraft spell on herself fails, she will still die.

But now it’s different. As a god-level Magus, she possesses the high-level skill of true magic and has several ways to ensure the survival of those before her.

As Lancer’s former master and a participant in the Holy Grail War, she must have a way to ensure her own victory.

A golden pot appears on one side. Medea (Caster) waves her hand, commanding the wind to lift the woman into the pot.

“With this, we now have two Magi. Whether it’s blocking enemy Servants by pretending to be my master or being used as a shield for Souichirou, they will serve their purpose… Haha!” Medea (Caster) wears a cloak hood and holds the woman close, shaking with laughter.
