Chapter 155 Night of Fate’s Descent

The next day, everything seemed to be back to normal for Kuzuki as he went to Academy as usual. However, he intentionally passed by the Surroundings of Matou Residence on his way.

The entire street was blocked off by yellow tape, with two police cars parked outside the barricade and a few officers maintaining order.

Curious bystanders asked for the reason, only to be told it was due to a Gas Explosion incident. Aside from a few unlucky individuals injured in the accident, no one had died.

After waiting for a moment, Kuzuki turned and left.

Everything was back to normal in Fuyuki City as usual…

Just outside the school gates, Kuzuki saw a familiar figure.

The man had shoulder-length purple hair, an outstanding build but dressed simply, and strikingly good looks. His face was always adorned with a calm and gentle smile.

Matou Sakura seemed unfazed by the rider’s attack or the disappearance of Matou Shinji. She didn’t seem to care about these events at all.

Noticing Kuzuki’s line of sight, Matou Sakura politely smiled at him and said, “Good morning, Teacher Kuzuki.”

    “Hmm, good morning,” Kuzuki replied.

Passing her by, he nodded slightly but didn’t say anything before walking away.

Matou Sakura collected herself and walked back to her classroom.

Last night, she had encountered a blond foreigner who had said some strange things. The man had then attacked them during the night.

The rider was severely injured, and her grandfather was also missing.

With no choice left, she had to retrieve the Contract Authority. She decided to supplement Mana. Sakura with mana even though she didn’t want to participate in the Holy Grail War. She couldn’t bear to watch the rider disappear.

In the morning, there was no class, so Kuzuki waited at the Faculty office, standing by the window as he thought about Fate.

[Matou Shinji had failed to control the rider and set up a Blood Temple barrier. Because of this, Tohsaka Rin wouldn’t have left until late at night to clear the barrier. Similarly, because Matou Shinji wasn’t around, Emiya Shirou hadn’t been asked to stay behind to clean up the battlefield either. As a result, he wouldn’t have witnessed the battle between Archer and Lancer… This would lead to everything changing from here on out.]

[So, how would Fate develop? Should he forcibly correct it or let things take their natural course?]

    He waited with bated breath…

Time flew by quickly, and the school bell rang out in the afternoon.

Due to the recent mysterious unconsciousness incidents and the Gas Explosion event, all club activities had been suspended. Students were required to leave campus by six o’clock.

On the roof of the Teaching Building, Kuzuki watched as Emiya Shirou entered the Archery Club and got into an argument with Himuro Kane and the rest of the trio. After a heated exchange, they left the school grounds. However, Emiya Shirou didn’t leave; he stayed behind at the Archery Club.

Kuzuki furrowed his brow deeply, his eyes narrowing sharply.

[Did you not go? You missed Matou Shinji’s teasing, but Emiya Shirou still stayed…]

    Drip, drip.

Footsteps echoed up the stairs as KuzukiSpiritual Awareness detected a strong and weak Breath approaching.

[This Time… was it Archer and Tohsaka Rin? Tohsaka didn’t go…]

Lightly tapping the tip of his foot, Kuzuki floated up like a bird over the rooftop’s guardrail and disappeared.

On the stairs, as Kuzuki used Spiritual AwarenessIntuition or sensing, Archer shivered violently, his hair standing on end like electricity. He swallowed hard and lightly pushed open the iron door to the rooftop.

    Nothing outside.

    “Hey, you’re blocking me, Archer!”

    Emiya Shirou stepped aside.

Tohsaka Rin looked at him suspiciously and said, “You seem tense all the time at School. Have you sensed something unusual?”

    “No, I’m fine.”

Emiya Shirou closed the mountain gate with a smile and walked to the railing behind Tohsaka Rin.

He didn’t want to meet that individual now, though he wasn’t sure if they would fight. But just in case…

Nevermind, let’s think about how to prank Rin and make her stay until tonight.

“Rin, why are you at School?” Emiya Shirou asked intentionally.

“Master’s battle should avoid being seen, so a crowded School shouldn’t encounter attacks.”

[That’s just common sense, but there are some who don’t act according to reason.]

Emiya Shirou sighed and said, “What if someone suddenly appears in a safe place?”

“That won’t happen. This city only has the Tohsaka and another Magus family, and the other family is extinct. There’s no master here.” Tohsaka Rin confidently replied.

Emiya Shirou snorted coldly and retorted, “So you’re saying Rin’s School still has a Magus? Then we can’t be too careful. And there are always exceptions—what if the School has another Magus that you don’t know…”

Tohsaka Rin raised her Twin-tails and turned around, saying, “If someone dares appear on my turf, I’ll take them down.”

    Emiya Shirou sighed without speaking.

In the end, after dragging it out for a while, the sky gradually darkened, with city lights and stars in the sky exchanging calls.

Rin Tohsaka suddenly realizes the time has passed so quickly, saying to Archer, “We should go.”

    “Go where?”

A light voice suddenly echoes from the rooftop water tower.

Rin Tohsaka is startled and looks up to see a man in blue armor with a wild, powerful aura standing on the water tower, holding a blood-red magical gun aimed at her!

A cold sweat drips down her cheek as Rin Tohsaka’s expression becomes serious. “Who are you?”

“As you can see, I’m just one of the patrollers who happened to encounter a target. The other officer said that, right?”

“You can see Archer? So you must be a Servant.”

“You’re giving away the fact that you’re his Master too.”

Rin Tohsaka tightens her lips and looks around.

Since the Master’s location is unclear, Archer needs to protect himself. It might leave him defenseless, especially with the surroundings guarded by a shield. This place isn’t suitable for a battlefield.

Having seen Lancer appear, Rin Tohsaka knows she can’t avoid it; they’ll have to fight, and someone will win.

After clarifying her thoughts, Rin Tohsaka doesn’t hesitate. The Magic Circuit appears on her skin, and with the surge of Mana, she gains immense explosive power.

    “Rin, be careful.”

Rin Tohsaka’s figure is thrown back like an arrow shot from a crossbow. Just as she jumps backward, Lancer appears before her in an instant. His long gun sweeps across where she was standing.

Jumping down from the fourth floor, Archer’s afterimage appears mid-air, holding Rin Tohsaka and slamming into the ground. With his explosive power, he leaps over 100 meters to land beside the school playground.

    “Rin, be careful.”

After setting Rin Tohsaka down, EMIYA turns to face Lancer who is chasing her.

    A brutal battle is unavoidable.

“I’ll leave the rest of the battle up to you. I won’t interfere. Let me see what you’re capable of,” Rin says.

EMIYA smirks and, after receiving Rin’s approval, can now take action in the battle.

The battle that follows is a test of strength between Servants. Neither reveals their full power, but even so, the intensity of the fight is immense.

Rin Tohsaka stares in disbelief at the dense waves of spectral figures colliding around her, unable to keep up with their battle.

The sounds of steel rain like a storm of iron clashing together echo through the air. Every clash produces a fierce gust of wind and destroys a small section of the battlefield.

In just seconds, the two have exchanged hundreds of blows, leaving the entire playground littered with craters and ruins, a tragic sight indeed.

The commotion on the training ground caught an individual’s attention.

It was Emiya Shirou, who had unintentionally witnessed a battle between Servants and was stunned by it.

Everything that followed proceeded as per the original plotline. The Servant Lancer, ordered to eliminate the witness, proceeded to stab Emiya Shirou to death.

Subsequently, Tohsaka Rin used a family heirloom ruby she had recently found to revive Emiya Shirou. Having died once and been revived, Emiya Shirou, disoriented, somehow managed to clean up the bloodstains on the corridor and perform a sweep before heading home. Of course, the ruby was also pocketed along the way.

Upon returning home, Lancer followed him in and continued his attempt to kill Emiya Shirou.

In a panic, Emiya fled to the frequently used warehouse.

    Then……

As if following fate, the girl bound by a contract appeared.

“I ask you, are you my master?”
