Chapter 174 The Fierce Battle Between Servants

    The wind was blowing.

Moon peeked out from the Cloud Layer, gazing through the gap at the battlefield below.

The pouring starlight illuminated the girl in knight’s armor.

The blue-patterned silver armor gleamed with reflected light, her hands and feet wrapped in thick armor, and her soft golden hair had a single stubborn strand standing upright.

After re-establishing the contract with Tohsaka Rin, Saber’s injuries were completely healed, her mana was sufficiently supplemented, and even her attribute values had slightly increased; it was undeniable that Tohsaka Rin was a top-notch magus in the Holy Grail War.

As for Kuzuki, Saber didn’t have the confidence to defeat him, but against Rider and Caster, even if they were 2 servants, she felt no fear.

Saber grasped her sword with both hands, her emerald eyes shooting out a sharp line of sight, and before her were the staggering Caster and Rider with his chain sword.

There was no room for conversation; they were already confirmed enemies, 3 legendary figures gathering to confront each other.

The atmosphere was heavy with tension, the air thick with pressure, and the battle was about to erupt.

However, Saber didn’t have much time to waste; Berserker was holding off Kuzuki, and the rest would focus on taking down Caster.

The strategy wasn’t complex; the only difficulty was that they had to defeat 2 servants in an extremely short amount of time.

    …No problem.

Without warning, the ground beneath her feet suddenly burst, and Saber’s figure shot out like an arrow, transforming into a fierce gust of wind as she charged towards Caster.

Rider reacted almost simultaneously, moving faster than Saber and blocking her path.

The invisible sword and the chain sword clashed intensely.

The petite figure contained unimaginable strength; even with Rider’s [Giant Strength] technique, he was still being pushed back by Saber’s assault.

The air shook, and the collision of swords sparked intense flames.

Each time they clashed, the wind surrounding the swords would be disrupted, creating an extremely brief opening, a flash of silver light darting through the darkness.

Having endured for ten years without yielding, having fought 12 battles without being defeated, Saber’s battle techniques needed no explanation.

Adding the immensely advantageous [Instinct] in battle, it only took a few rounds for Saber to break through Rider’s defense line and send her flying.

Without hesitation, she stepped forward, her sword tip aimed at Caster.

    Strike Air(Strike Air)!

The fierce wind around the blade instantly transformed into a blast of air pressure, firing out in a burst.

A strike powerful enough to penetrate city walls pierced cleanly through Caster’s form, piercing the atmosphere and disappearing into the distant forest.

    A miss.

Caster, after all, is a Servant, and while her strength may be the weakest among the 7 classes, her ability to preserve her power and escape is arguably the strongest.

Space transfer, a magecraft of ritual level, can be performed without even an incantation, and with enough mana, she is the hardest to kill.

Saber felt a slight regret before recomposing herself.

The swirling breeze appeared around her blade again, enveloping the resplendent, golden sword and concealing its form.

Regrouped, Saber charged forward like a cannonball, and at the same time, the counterattacks from Caster and Rider arrived.

Six circular magecraft arrays emerged behind Caster, a flash of light, and beams of mana-fired bullets bombarded the knight girl.

Rider, perched on a large tree, removed her eyepatch, her Petrifying Mystic Eyes gazing at Saber.

    But the outcome was unexpected.

Showing no desire to dodge, the knight girl charged straight for her target.

Mana beams that could rival a battle chariot’s bombardment suddenly turned into a gentle breeze just 3 feet away from the girl, unable to come near her body.

Her A-rank [Against Mana] allows her to invalidate magic circles and instant contracts, a bug-level ability that can even resist Command Spells, demonstrating fearsome resilience.

Caster’s attacks were completely invalidated, and only Rider’s Mystic Eyes had a slight effect, momentarily slowing Saber’s advance… even Petrifying Mystic Eyes of that level could not fully take effect on the girl.

    Ssshhh…

A fan-shaped silver light swept across, cutting Caster’s figure in 2, but the separated body transformed into a Phantom (Mirage / Illusion) and disappeared.

“Hehehe… Your Magecraft is ineffective against me, so I’ll just apply it to myself.” Caster’s voice echoed around, yet her figure was nowhere to be seen.

Saber frowned and turned to face Rider.

Caster’s attack was basically invalid, posing little threat.

The reason she was so intent on killing her was that she was Kuzuki’s Servant; eliminating her first might cause Kuzuki to make a mistake.

With no trace of Caster for now, it was better to deal with Rider.

    On the other side.

Tohsaka Rin let out a long breath, wiped the sweat from her forehead, and stood up.

Beneath her feet was a small Magecraft formation, used to maintain a Barrier and provide a Mana imprint.

As the last Magecraft formation was destroyed, the sky suddenly turned a vivid red and began to fade, while the sweet, thick air wrapping around her like mud started to loosen, restoring its original breath.

After destroying Rider’s Blood Temple Barrier, Tohsaka Rin hurried towards Saber’s battlefield without pause.

Upon getting close enough, she witnessed an unforgettable scene.

Although she had anticipated the grotesque battles between Servants, the sight before her still left her in shock.

(A battle like Kuzuki’s monstrous one completely left people dumbfounded, with no thoughts to spare.)

Rider had completely transformed into a long black shadow, darting through the space surrounding Saber, appearing at first glance like several black lines intertwining to encircle Saber.

With extreme speed, she changed trajectories in the woods, her Petrifying Mystic Eyes fixated on Saber, suppressing her speed, while she herself moved like a leaping sprite, attacking from every direction, above and below.

The unusually long chains transformed into serpentine bodies, while the dagger-like short swords became venomous fangs, changing their trajectory in an attempt to bite a piece off Saber.

However, such flashy and confusing movements might work against others, but against Saber, who possessed [Instinct], they had no effect at all.

Every strike from her invisible longsword accurately hit the short swords, sending them flying away.

Rider isn’t a match for Saber, and if they clash head-on, Saber can take Rider down with just a few moves.

However, if Saber utilizes her mobility to its fullest, using hit-and-run tactics and keeping Rider at bay, Saber would be at a loss for a while.

Tohsaka Rin didn’t observe for too long, although battles between Servants are always breathtaking to watch, this isn’t the time to be mesmerized.

    “……VierStilErschieBung!”

Jewels melted from her fingertips, transforming into 4 beams of light that whizzed past Rider from all sides.

“Hmph, you’re all over the place, and my Fundamental Magecraft can’t hit you…” Tohsaka Rin lowered her arm, frustrated that her basic magic couldn’t land a hit on Rider, unless she used area-of-effect magic, but that risked hitting Saber.

As if reading Tohsaka Rin’s mind, Saber shouted: “Rin, feel free to attack! If you can temporarily restrict Rider’s movements, that would be great. Your magic won’t affect me.”

“This battle doesn’t need your interference, little girl. As a Master, it’s better for you to stay out of the way. Otherwise, you’ll end up in a situation like this…”

Caster suddenly appeared near Tohsaka Rin, positioning himself in the direction away from the battlefield.

    “Checkmate.” Caster flashed a smile.
