    Chapter 229 What the hell?

Homunhara Academy, a bright and sunny day.

During the afternoon break, several teachers were chatting in the office, including Fujimura Taiga, who was laughing heartily, triggered by something one of the teachers said.

Kuzuki sat coldly at his desk, his gaze scanning through his glasses.

    [Can’t they feel it?]

In the farthest corner of the office from Kuzuki, a cold breath was curled up, shivering.

After returning from lunch at the cafeteria, an invisible presence had appeared in the office, unnoticed by anyone except Kuzuki.

Kuzuki stood up and took a couple of steps closer to that cold breath.

A faint, piercing scream echoed in the air, and the cold breath noticeably shrank back.

Kuzuki frowned and retreated to his seat.

    A spirit?

He tore off a piece of paper, crumpled it into a small ball, and flicked it with his hand.

The paper ball whizzed through the cold breath, creating a small hole in the wall, embedded in it.

Not only invisible, but it also doesn’t interact with matter?

Then why not just pass through the wall and escape?

Or is it that matter can still have an effect, but it’s just very minimal?

Kuzuki thought for a moment, not delving too deeply, and instead stood up and walked a few steps forward.

A very faint sound like a burning fuse hissed, and the cold breath disappeared from the office.

“Huh? Who turned off the air conditioning?” a male teacher said casually.

Fujimura Taiga replied, “The air conditioning wasn’t on… No one was in the office at noon, so I just turned it off.”

The male teacher puzzledly turned the air conditioning back on, still wondering about the previous coolness.

Seeing this, Kuzuki silently pushed open the Gate of Opening (Kaimon) and left the office.

In the corridor, Kuzuki encountered a hurried Ryuudou Issei.

Upon seeing Kuzuki, he immediately breathed a sigh of relief and said, “Teacher Kuzuki, do you have a moment? I have something very important to discuss with you.”

“Hmm, let’s go to the Student Council meeting room.”

Upon arriving at the meeting room, Ryuudou Issei locked the door and said seriously, “Teacher Kuzuki, I encountered a spirit!”

“You’re a monk, isn’t it normal to see spirits?”

“That’s not normal! I’ve never seen one in my whole life.” He pushed his Glasses up, hesitated, and then said, “And… I think I successfully exorcized it.”

“Congratulations, from today onwards you are a qualified monk.”

Ryuudou Issei almost jumped up, his hands resting on the table, he said, “The point isn’t that! It’s that there are really spirits in The World!”

Kuzuki nodded, “That’s right, there are really spirits in The World.”

Ryuudou Issei was defeated by Kuzuki’s attitude, he slumped back into his chair, muttering, “Hey, Kuzuki-senpai, what kind of person are you? The Secret Techniques you taught me actually work, I thought they were all fake…”

Ever since Kuzuki Restart World Line, his relationship with Ryuudou Issei had become closer, he started calling Kuzuki “senpai” in private.

“I’m just an ordinary teacher, my only interest is martial arts.” Kuzuki took off his Glasses and wiped them with a cloth. “Issei, tell me about your process of exorcizing the spirit.”

    “Okay…”

With a skeptical attitude towards Kuzuki’s response, Ryuudou Issei slowly recounted what happened before.

Ever since Kuzuki taught him (Great Majestic Dragon Bodhisattva View), Ryuudou Issei had only practiced the ‘spirit cultivation’ section from the scriptures, thinking it was just a kind of meditation to purify the mind and relax the self.

It was only until he cultivated to the Soul Out-of-Body level.

He was also quite lucky, usually going to school during the day and only practicing before bed at night, so he successfully achieved Soul Out-of-Body without any guidance, not encountering any risks.

For a newly separated soul, whether it’s wind, thunder, rain, snow, loud noises, sunlight, vibrations, or flames, they could all inflict harm on a fragile soul.

It was very dangerous and required thorough preparation.

Dazed, Ryuudou Issei accidentally cultivated to the second level of the Yang Shen System… the Realm of Out-of-Body, and he even succeeded smoothly.

    His luck was indeed good.

After reaching the Out-of-body stage in his Cultivation, he could see some things that were normally invisible to the n*ked eye.

On this day, Ryuudou Issei and Emiya Shirou were enjoying a bento lunch on the rooftop when they suddenly saw a girl’s figure walking back and forth at the edge of the playground, continuing for over ten minutes without stopping.

He felt something was off, so he decided to go down and ask the girl if she needed any help, as it was his duty as the Student Council president to assist students in need.

However, when he arrived at the playground, the girl had vanished, and when he asked the other people around, no one claimed to have seen her.

Perplexed, Ryuudou Issei searched the area again but found nothing, so he prepared to head back.

Just as he turned around, a soft voice whispered in his ear, “Are you looking for me?”

He was startled and was about to scold the person for playing pranks in the Academy, but when he saw the girl’s faint, illusionary body and her pale face, his mind went blank.

Taking advantage of his momentary distraction, the girl leaned forward and enveloped him in her cold, dark body.

Ryuudou Issei felt like he had fallen into an ice cave, and his vision went black, but just as all hope seemed lost, a brilliant golden light burst forth in the darkness of his mind, and a magnificent Bodhisattva emerged, striking down the darkness and restoring his line of sight.

He faintly heard a blood-curdling scream, and when he looked around, he didn’t see anyone approaching, and the eerie feeling had disappeared.

Then, he went to find Kuzuki.

“That was an Evil Spirit, right? Attacking a human in broad daylight, I suddenly feel like Fuyuki City is very dangerous,” Ryuudou Issei said, still shaken by the experience.

If Kuzuki hadn’t taught him the Great Majestic Dragon Bodhisattva View, what would have happened to him?

Would he have fallen gravely ill or died on the spot?

Kuzuki patted Ryuudou Issei’s shoulder and said, “Issei, the responsibility of protecting the school… no, protecting Fuyuki City, falls to you now. Go and eradicate the Evil Spirits as a monk-like mage.”

    But I don’t want to!

Who would want to take on such a perilous responsibility?

However, he just sat there, unable to utter a single word.

Kuzuki nodded in relief, stood up, and left the conference room.

As he stepped out of the conference room, Kuzuki’s expression instantly reverted to its usual icy and aloof demeanor.

    This matter wasn’t that simple…

The Martial Artist’s Spiritual Awareness was warning him that something extremely dangerous was approaching, but this danger was still far away from him… not in terms of space, but in terms of time.

The feeling wasn’t distinct, and he could only vaguely sense a hint of it.

But that hint was enough… it was like having a nuclear bomb buried under his feet, with only ten minutes left on the countdown timer.

    At night.

Kuzuki entered his Assassination Book Space, but instead of starting his usual Cultivation and Battle routine, he furrowed his brow and paced back and forth, appearing somewhat anxious.

Holding the Assassination Book in his hand, Kuzuki flipped through its pages repeatedly.

    Where was the problem?
