Chapter 3 Those who are good at guarding, hidden in the ninth layer of the earth.

With a deceptive and cunning demeanor.

After much contemplation, Kuzuki reached a conclusion.

At present, he lacks the power to resist the collective forces. Therefore, if he wishes to avoid being eliminated by cruel means, he must comply with “the group’s” control and refrain from any outward signs of dissension.

“There is no electricity or internet connection here; we are still in a remote, uninhabited mountainous area surrounded by surveillance cameras. In such circumstances, I can no longer think of any way to escape without attracting attention.” Although Kuzuki does not want to give up, he must acknowledge that he cannot devise an escape method without leaving a trace.

Considering the enormous financial and material resources at his disposal, “the group” is undoubtedly a formidable entity. Even if he escapes this location, facing their relentless pursuit leaves him with little hope of survival.

In such a secret base established over thirty years ago, there has never been an individual who can escape by running.

“the group” maintains a strict security perimeter. Moreover, few people dare to attempt escape.

Every “tool” is trained from birth within this base, subjected to “the group’s” thinking brainwashing since childhood. Their worldview has been corrupted, and they lack proper notions of good and evil as well as a concept of life and death.

Those who refuse to accept themselves as “tools” have been purged. Only those with the ability to grow into ten-year-olds within this framework are loyal to “the group.” Even if commanded to commit suicide, they can do so without hesitation.

Kuzuki was once part of such a “tool,” sharing the same mindset and beliefs as his peers. He has never questioned the purpose of his existence or felt that being utilized by “the group” was wrong.

If he had not been transported by another Kuzuki, his future would likely involve: following orders to assassinate a target, successfully or unsuccessfully, and then being commanded to commit suicide.

    A tragic yet heart-wrenching existence.

However, this is no longer the case.

Although his personality remains dominated by his original Kuzuki, his thoughts are now influenced by another world’s Kuzuki.

In essence, he has broken free from “the group’s” mental prison. As a result, he cannot accept that all aspects of his life are controlled by “the group.” He must find a way to break free from their control.

    Half an hour passes quickly.

Kuzuki stops thinking and focuses on practicing the Hundred Snake Techniques (Snake Arts).

This is his only method to escape his predetermined fate. Therefore, he will not accept any form of perfunctory.

Given that he has yet to reach the age of twenty and will never be used as a “tool” in this base, he can plan meticulously over the next year to find weaknesses in this location and escape while evading “the group’s” pursuit.

During these three hours of intense practice, he is fully immersed in his thoughts without any distraction. This state of mind explains why his physical strength has grown so remarkable.

After completing the exercises, he rests. There is a water well outside that allows him to wash.

While taking a bath, Kuzuki uses his tools to test his strength with water from the well.

A heavy wooden bucket, weighing approximately thirty kilograms, was lifted by Kuzuki with one hand. It wasn’t merely lifting the buckets but holding them aloft in mid-air, indicating that his single-arm strength was at least 150 kilograms or more. His punching power could potentially exceed a ton.

Even knowing how terrifying this body is, Kuzuki was still taken aback by the conclusions he reached.

What is a ton of punching power?

This means that even the strongest heads in the human skull would be as fragile as cookies when hit. A blow to any part of the body would result in that area separating from the rest.

In words, it might seem unremarkable, but in actuality, it would be a horrific and brutal scene filled with blood.

This made Kuzuki wonder if he was still human.

The planet he’s standing on is undoubtedly Earth.

    The star patterns remain unchanged.

In other words, this is the solar system in the Orion Arm room of the Milky Way galaxy, specifically the third ring around a star similar to our Sun.

Kuzuki had assumed that he had merely crossed into an alternate parallel universe where the physical constants and fundamental laws remained unchanged from his original reality. However, this assumption turned out to be incorrect.

He initially thought it was a different dimension but now realized that his previous assumptions were wrong.

“The 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics just ended. I remember that in the 69kg class final, Chinese athlete Shi Zhiyang won with a total of 352kg. Although he didn’t break any records, his totals are still impressive compared to others. However, his snatch was only 162kg and his clean and jerk was 190kg.” After thinking about this for a moment, Kuzuki raised his arms and felt a pang of sadness: “But now I can lift at at least 300kg!”

Even though he broke the world record in weightlifting, Kuzuki didn’t feel happy. Instead, he felt heavier than ever before.

If it’s just a little over the record, there’s nothing to be happy about. The problem is that his strength exceeds the world record by an enormous margin—more than double!

This makes him question whether he still belongs to humanity.

“Looking at other trainees and instructors, it’s not just my incredible power that’s off. In fact, the mistake isn’t mine—it’s this world.” After washing his hands, Kuzuki sat on the windowpane and looked up at the stars.

The Milky Way shines brightly in the night sky with an awe-inspiring beauty that can’t be easily described.

“Maybe we’re not on Earth after all, but rather a planet in another multiverse. The physical laws might differ slightly from our own universe.”

This puts Kuzuki back into an unknown situation.

His previous assumption—that this was a parallel universe Earth (due to time paradox reasons, so we can ignore the possibility of it being our original Earth)—was incorrect. While there might be some differences in history or future development from our Earth, the overall environment should still resemble ours with its usual countries and organizations like China, the United States, Japan, France, and Russia.

However, based on his current conclusions, all previous assumptions are invalid. The only certainty is that he’s still on Earth, but the social environment might be different, historical progress could be entirely different from what we know, and knowledge from our world won’t help here because it’s an unknown environment.

    22:00

    It’s time to sleep.

Kuzuki is lying in bed but also still thinking for a bit more time due to his strong biological clock.

At this point, he should be in a deep sleep without dreams and in an excellent state. However, the rapidly rotating eyes indicate that Kuzuki is actually engaging in intense thought processes—essentially, he’s dreaming.
