    Chapter 51 Artificial Mystic Eyes

The Hall of Temple (Aozaki Touko Workshop), Asagami Fujino is calmly waiting.

Kokutou Mikiya places a cup of tea on her desk, but Fujino has no intention of drinking it.

Wearing glasses, Aozaki Touko soothes herself softly: “Kuzuki-kun is quite strong; even if he can’t defeat you outright, escaping isn’t impossible. Don’t worry too much.”

“Hmm, I’ve always believed in Teacher Kuzuki from the start to finish.” Touko relaxes slightly and picks up her cup of tea.

    There’s a sudden noise outside.

“Is Teacher Kuzuki returning?” Fujino immediately lowers her cup, rushes out in her dress.

After a moment, she returns with a look of disappointment.

“Oh, really? Even though I said I wasn’t worried, there’s more to worry about than that…” Touko removes her glasses, calms down. She waves her hand in the air and points at an object on the table.

“Splat!” (The object bursts into black light.)

The object emits a flash of black light, zipping out through a window crack almost instantly.

    A few moments later…

Wearing her glasses again, Touko says: “Teacher Kuzuki seems to have returned safely without anyone challenging him. Earlier, I dispatched a Servant to track down his location.”

    ·········

Far away, as Kuzuki walks, he suddenly stops, frowning and looking around.

    He feels watched.

The incident didn’t last long; it only lasted a few seconds before disappearing.

With a hint of caution, he enters the Hall of Temple (Aozaki Touko Workshop).

Fujino immediately rushes over, looking worried: “Teacher Kuzuki, are you okay?”

    “I’m fine, Fujino.”

After comforting Fujino, Kuzuki asks Kokutou Mikiya: “Where is Ryougi Shiki?”

Kokutou Mikiya looked puzzled and said: “Shiki, it’s too boring. I’ll go back to myself. Are you looking for her, Kuzuki-san?”

Kuzuki nodded and said: “You’re right; the relationship should be fine with her. The next thing you say can be told directly to her.”

“There’s a Magus named Araya Souren who has been acting secretly, and his goal is Ryougi Shiki. I saw him once in the hospital when Ryougi was Unconscious, and I was there too.”

Aozaki Touko raised an eyebrow: “Araya Souren? Have you met him?” She frowned deeply as if pondering.

Kokutou Mikiya took a serious face and said: “What does he want to do with Shiki?”

“I don’t know, he wants me to use my Origin to exchange with him so I can fight Ryougi Shiki. Before that, he wanted to use Fujino to fight Ryougi Shiki, and I don’t know his real intention.”

Hearing Kuzuki’s words, Fujino bit his lip unsurely, not sure what was going on in his mind.

Aozaki Touko sighed deeply and said: “I think I know what he wants to do. That person… from the beginning hasn’t given up.”

Kokutou Mikiya worriedly said: “Touko, don’t tease me like that.”

“Oh, he’s just impatient…” Aozaki Touko took off her glasses and her tone dropped suddenly. “I’ve told you before, Shiki’s eyes are connected to Root, Araya Souren’s goal is only one: reaching Root through Shiki. Although I don’t know how he plans it, but none of the methods seem beneficial to Shiki…”

“I’ll go back and see you tomorrow.” Kokutou Mikiya grabbed her coat quickly, exchanged a hurried greeting with Aozaki, and left.

“Oh no! Kuzuki, what are you planning? Just to fight Shiki?” Aozaki Touko turned her gaze coldly at Kuzuki.

“This is the real you, isn’t it? Wearing glasses is a disguise…”

“You have to do business, right? A mask is just hiding behind your actions… You haven’t answered my question yet, Kuzuki.”

Kuzuki calmly looked at her and said: “I’m not worried about Shiki’s safety. I only promised Araya Souren the condition of the exchange…”

“No, it’s different. The fight is separate from the exchange. I won’t kill Shiki.”

Aozaki Touko smiled faintly and said: “If you’re worried about someone else, maybe you should choose a different target. No one can stop that person…”

    “Who?”

“Do Ryougi Shiki have anyone assisting them secretly?”

Aozaki Touko lit a cigarette and said: “I don’t think anyone can stop that guy. His plans are too far-fetched…”

Kuzuki took a step forward and said, “I still have other things to ask Aozaki-sanshi about artificial Mystical Eyes concerning their manufacturing Technique. How much would it cost?”

“Oh? Teacher Kuzuki, are you really going to make artificial Mystical Eyes?” Fujino exclaimed in shock. Even if Teacher Kuzuki had Mystical Eyes himself, would that still give Asagami Fujino any value?

“I want to use my Origin for Mystical Eyes, and it seems suitable in some way.”

Aozaki Touko coughed out smoke. “Considering we’re close acquainted, I’ll settle for 100 million dollars—US dollars, as I said before.”

Kuzuki didn’t have that kind of money; it was 1998 and even Mifune City’s Prestigious Asagami Family couldn’t afford such a sum.

“How much would you get for your martial arts techniques if exchanged for money?” Aozaki Touko asked.

“Oh?” Aozaki Touko’s eyes sparkled. “That kind of magical technique, how many do you still have? To be honest, it’s more valuable than 100 million—dollars. It contains some profound elements that I haven’t even grasped yet…”

Kuzuki nodded and took a stack of papers from beside him on the Sofa and began writing as if he was doing homework.

Fifteen minutes later, he handed over a pile of densely written notes along with some diagrams of human meridian patterns to Aozaki Touko. “This is Heavenly Frost Fist (From Feng Yun) and Scorching Sun Fist from the same level—Level 90 or something like that. If you exchange it, enough for sure.”

“Oh my goodness… I can’t believe there’s so much knowledge hidden in your brain!” Aozaki Touko exposed a dangerous smile.

    Kuzuki said nothing about it.

“About Mystic Eyes’ manufacturing Technique, there’s quite a bit to learn. Give me some time and organize it.” Aozaki Touko accepted the papers from Kuzuki with care and said, “I’ll get back in a moment.”

Aozaki Touko went straight to her real workshop, the Temple of Aozaki Touko. The fake ones were just for show. This was where the true Magus worked—no escaping from it.

Asagami Fujino lay on Kuzuki’s lap and kept silent, pondering something.

A moment later, a pile of records arrived. “Not only the knowledge about Mystical Eyes’ manufacturing—but also my designs for Mystical Eyes,” Aozaki Touko said, handing it over to Kuzuki. “Give it to you, Teacher Kuzuki.”

With what he wanted and Ryougi Shiki not being here, Kuzuki stood up and left.

On the way back, Fujino remained silent as she followed Kuzuki without saying a word.

“I want to explore my surroundings; Teacher Kuzuki, please go back.” Fujino asked.

“Eh?” Kuzuki was silent for a moment.

    Well?

Kuzuki thought about stopping but decided not to interfere since Araya Souren had stopped using Fujino as a pawn and Fundamental wouldn’t be in danger anyway.

    I went back.
