    Chapter 56 Destiny?

Yet the strike aimed at a sure hit once more missed, and the air was rent by the explosion of a thunderous roar. A storm of dust and debris surged from the direction of his punch.

Kuzuki frowned, looking at Ryougi Shiki, whose face was slick with sweat.

    He had missed twice now.

The first time, his vision had been blurred, causing the scene to appear distorted. Therefore, he had corrected his attack trajectory slightly.

However, during the second strike, his vision had returned to normal, causing him to miss again with his corrected attack.

[Somehow, it feels off. I’ll double-check]

At this point, Ryougi Shiki had retreated into the surrounding abandoned buildings, likely intending to use their complex structure to hinder Kuzuki’s movement speed.

Leaning against a thick concrete pillar, Ryougi Shiki was slightly out of breath. This was due to her having been restrained by the handcuffs on her knife, forcing her to improvise and grab a protruding steel bar as a weapon.

The trap had already been set. She just needed him to walk in.

In the next instant, the wall exploded with a thunderous crash, sending fragments flying everywhere. Kuzuki walked through the hole he had punched through the wall.

Ryougi Shiki suddenly waved one hand, and the steel bar she held traced a path in mid-air, like water flowing into the ocean. It swept across the pillars of the building.

The path she traced was the Death Line of this building, causing the entire structure to begin collapsing.

Facing the crumbling building, Kuzuki did not retreat but instead pressed forward, chasing after Ryougi Shiki.

Pieces of debris fell constantly. He struck them down with a single blow, turning them into dust, but the relentless flow of fragments hindered his pursuit. After some time, he lost track of Ryougi Shiki.

    “Dun-dun-dun…”

The building finally began to collapse completely.

Inside, Kuzuki suddenly took a deep breath as Mana surged through his body.

    “Roar!”

He didn’t need to dodge. Facing the massive slab of falling debris, Kuzuki’s arms transformed into countless shadowy figures that struck out.

    “Ah ah ah ah!”

A breath expelled hundreds of punches, each infused with immense power, shattering the slabs of debris layer by layer.

    “Crash!”

A vast cloud of dust rises as the skyscraper collapses completely.

In the midst of the ruins that should have been piled together, there is a huge cylindrical void.

At the base of the dusty cone, a tall figure stands straight. It’s Kuzuki.

He suddenly waves his hand and conjures up an intense gust of wind, clearing the smoke around him.

Despite appearing unharmed, Kuzuki closes his eyes and listens carefully to the sounds around him.

The distant anxious calls of Fujino, the sounds of windswept ruins, and the breathing of Ryougi Shiki.

    Just beside him!

A shadowy figure suddenly emerges from a nearby ruin and dashes toward Kuzuki.

Facing Ryougi Shiki’s sudden appearance, Kuzuki remains calm. His punch is faster than her attack, like lightning striking her midsection, sending her flying back.

She lands about ten meters away and rolls twice before collapsing unconscious.

Kuzuki looks at his fist and then at Ryougi Shiki.

This is the third time. He instinctively lets go, otherwise, he would have knocked her clean through instead of sending her flying.

After thinking about it, Kuzuki can only attribute these anomalies to the Suppression Force.

In the Tsukihime Universe, there are two major forces known as Gaia and Alaya. Simply put, one is the manifestation of the planet’s consciousness, and the other is that of human consciousness, appearing to ensure the survival of both the planet and humanity.

Ryougi Shiki is connected to Root. Whenever Kuzuki tries to kill her, the Suppression Force intervenes subtly to alter the outcome.

The Suppression Force is a formidable enemy to Magus because Magus aims to reach Root. Skilled Magi avoid the Suppression Force to prevent failure. The Magecraft knowledge Kuzuki received from Aozaki Touko includes these insights, prompting him to consider the Suppression Force.

He approaches Ryougi Shiki, who is unconscious, and looks at her face as he weighs the consequences of striking her now.

……The outcome would be a hundred percent failure.

Kuzuki’s current strength is still far from sufficient against both Gaia and Alaya.

Regardless of the reason, Kuzuki consistently fails due to various circumstances. As the Suppression Force’s attention grows, even meteorites falling could prevent him from killing Ryougi Shiki.

After hesitating for a moment, Kuzuki lowers his arm.

He isn’t strong enough to confront the Suppression Force yet. With three consecutive failures, there’s no need to continue attacking.

[This is the treatment of the protagonist in Destiny? Before his anger subsided, he would never die no matter what].

    It’s truly a hopeless fact.

Before knowing that he was Kuzuki Souichirou, Kuzuki had made a conjecture about this very thing. At the time, he thought: if he didn’t follow the path of fate, went to Fuyuki City, met Caster, became a Master, and then died—what would happen? Would it lead to World Line Convergence or trigger the Butterfly Effect?

Kuzuki couldn’t know, but regardless of how things developed, improving oneself was always the right choice.

Only the strong have the authority to grasp fate.

Asagami Fujino ran over, tense-looking at Kuzuki, and relaxed when she saw he was okay.

Before Fujino could speak, Kuzuki said: “Go back, Fujino, I have some questions for you.”

Just as Fujino had relaxed, she suddenly looked up again, following Kuzuki and leaving after a few steps. She then opened DistortionMystic Eyes, coldly staring at Ryougi Shiki who was lying on the ground.

    “Fujino!”

Kuzuki’s strict voice came from in front of her, causing Fujino to close her Mystic Eyes and leave with a deferential demeanor.

A moment later, a black-red shadow appeared next to Ryougi Shiki, dispelling the Mana and revealing his true form.

A very human-like cat saw that Ryougi Shiki was only Unconscious and immediately sighed.

The instinctive act of lifting a paw to smoke stopped halfway, realizing it was from a Servant’s perspective. There was no smoking involved in Fundamentals.

The cat shook its head, transforming into a shadow that wrapped around Ryougi Shiki. A moment later, the shadow dispersed, and Ryougi Shiki vanished from the spot.

    Reien Girls’ Academy.

    Fujino was being scolded.

“You’ve really disappointed me, Fujino. A strong person must be able to control their own heart. You can’t even control your own mind, so how could you ever become a strong person?”

The teacher said, “I don’t care about becoming a strong person at all. I just want to have your side by my side.”

Fujino couldn’t say anything, sulking and not answering.

[Hmm? Did I sound too harsh? First disciple, it’s really so frustrating. The apprentice is so irresponsible.] Kuzuki sighed for the first time, saying: “You mustn’t let your desires enslave you. Do you understand? Go back and practice Wing Chun well. Then I’ll teach you more advanced things.”

Fujino didn’t respond, just walked out.

She went to the tree clearing behind the dormitory for women and began practicing Wing Chun with a fierce expression, attacking an imaginary opponent repeatedly.

Meanwhile, after Fujino left, Kuzuki entered the Assassination Book world.

Almost at the end of the month, It’s time to complete the mission.

ps: Kuzuki now knows information (including and not limited to some fundamental knowledge in the Tsukihime Universe, the detailed process of the fifth Holy Grail War in Fuyuki City, as well as some highly recognized things in the Tsukihime Universe.)

ps2: Ryougi Shiki cannot kill, it feels strange when fighting······
