Chapter 71 I’ve been tagged!
On a certain day in early August.
In the school cafeteria, Kuzuki had eaten three portions of lunch and was now carrying a tray toward the wash basin.
A girl standing next to the wash basin, who also seemed to have just finished eating, glanced at Kuzuki by accident while holding her tray. She froze like a frog caught in a snake’s gaze.
It wasn’t until she and Kuzuki brushed shoulders and turned away that she took a deep breath.
Wiping the cold sweat from her forehead, Seo Shizune quickly set down the tray and walked out.
“That’s really unlucky of you. How do you end up seeing him here?” Once intimidated by Kuzuki’s Intent to Kill, she had been avoiding him for a long time. This was the first time they met outside of class.
Hurrying out of the cafeteria, Seo Shizune stopped and scratched her head: “Maybe I misunderstood Teacher Kuzuki. Perhaps he really just wants to be a teacher without any other intentions.”
Just as she was pondering whether she had made a mistake in her judgment, she suddenly saw someone standing on the way back to her dorm.
When she looked at who it was, her heart skipped a beat and then started beating rapidly again.
[Why is Teacher Kuzuki here? Is it just coincidence, or did he intentionally target me? With no one around, does he intend to attack me? What should I do? Turn around and leave, or pretend not to notice? Should I call for help, but will anyone believe me?]
Questions swirled in her mind. Seo Shizune bit down on Fang, acting as if nothing had happened, slightly avoiding Kuzuki’s direction, and hurried toward the Teaching Building.
However, what cooled her heart was that Kuzuki seemed to be intentionally blocking her path.
Her body no longer obeyed her commands. She walked stiffly forward, looking like she was about to cry.
[I don’t want to die. If he wants to kill me, how can I escape his grasp?] It’s impossible, and she clearly knew that the man in front of her, despite appearing human, was terrifying.
“Seo student, may I ask you something?” Kuzuki towered over Seo Shizune.
“What?”
Kuzuki’s arm flash flickered, and his finger pointed at Seo Shizune. She was hit so fast that she didn’t even feel the sting until a second later when her mind caught up to what had happened.
Seo Shizune’s face went pale, no trace of blood visible.
[He just touched me for a moment! Even though it didn’t hurt, there must be something wrong with that. Am I going to die?]
“Why did you pay special attention to me at first? Did I do something that caught your eye?” Kuzuki asked.
[What? How could that be the case.]
But her mouth seemed to belong to someone else, and she couldn’t control herself from speaking: “My eyes can see fragments of the future. When I first met you, I saw a future where you were fighting others. I thought you were a dangerous person, so I wanted to test you.”
?!
Seo Shizune stared wide-eyed, realizing she had inadvertently revealed all her secrets.
What did this person do in front of me? He just pointed at himself and blurted out everything he thought without any hesitation?
……Kuzuki’s actions are pretty straightforward—she just touched her Secret Acupuncture Points.
In Fist of the North Star, you often rely on acupressure points to kill enemies. These points are essentially the meridian Secret Acupuncture Points. (Fist of the North Star is a technique that introduces the concept of death, and it’s not just limited to the human body or even living beings. Even machines have flowing energy and vulnerabilities, so it’s mainly about increasing difficulty in combat.)
However, touching certain meridian Secret Acupuncture Points can lead to some pretty strange things.
For example: Secret Acupuncture Points·Upper Jaw.
After being touched, the brain’s “protecting secrets” function is forced shut. While you can still control your mouth, you’ll answer any question truthfully.
If you don’t want to reveal a secret, you have no choice but to keep your mouth closed and not speak.
But Seo Shizune had never encountered this before, so she didn’t immediately cover her mouth and instead started guessing about true magic abilities.
“What did you do to me? Is that your trick?”
Seo Shizune broke down in frustration and began screaming at Kuzuki.
Kuzuki looked at her with a thoughtful expression and asked, “Can you still see the future with your eyes now?”
As soon as she asked, that strange feeling returned, and Seo Shizune couldn’t control her thoughts from spilling out through her mouth.
“I can only passively accept fragments of the future. The first time I saw your future was when we met for the first time, but after that, I haven’t seen anything else.”
Kuzuki nodded calmly and noticed that Seo Shizune was still staring at her. She then said, “Well, I’m not a bad person either. Listen up—within the next seven days, you can’t open your mouth. If you do, everything you think will come out of it. You won’t be able to hide any secrets by then. After those seven days, you’ll be able to speak normally again.”
……Actually, the effects of Secret Acupuncture Points only last for three hours.
“Huh? That’s really strange, isn’t it? How can you just not talk for seven days?”
Despite Seo Shizune’s screaming, Kuzuki returned to the IndependentOffice of Teachers.
In the afternoon, during PE class.
Seo Shizune didn’t open her mouth at all throughout the entire lesson. She kept staring at Kuzuki with a fierce expression, but it lacked any intimidating power, so Kuzuki ignored her.
Time quietly passed by.
Around mid-August.
In the evening, in the Teachers’ Dormitory, Fujino finished practicing fist techniques and breathing techniques. She was slumped on a desk, looking completely lethargic.
It seems like she’s been taking longer to leave Kuzuki’s place lately. Even though it’s almost 7 p.m., she’s still sitting there motionless.
“Kuzuki’s skills have gotten even better···uh, I think they’re mostly done now. It’s time to clean up.”
As a single young man of marriageable age, Kuzuki occasionally cooks and eats himself. His cooking skills are quite impressive, especially considering his control over the Body, as evidenced by Fujino often coming to beg for food.
The sound of Gate of Opening echoes from the corridor, and Kokutou Azaka walks in with a sour expression.
“Of course, Fujino, you’re here again. Teacher Kuzuki?”
Fujino puts down what she was holding and says: “In the forest behind, I’m doing Daily Life training. You seem troubled. Is someone chasing after you?”
Kokutou Azaka crosses her legs and sits at the table, saying: “No, it’s my idiotic brother.”
“Kokutou-sama… What happened?” Fujino pauses after brushing her hair. She knows Kokutou Mikiya from high school, where he helped her during a sports day event and realized the pain she kept hidden. Therefore, she has a good impression of him and has always wanted to meet him to thank him.
Last time at the Hall of Temple (Aozaki Touko Workshop), Kokutou Mikiya didn’t recognize her. Plus, she was worried about Kuzuki’s safety and didn’t feel like talking to him.
Hearing Kokutou Azaka’s words now makes her feel a bit conflicted.
Kokutou Azaka leans her head on her hand, saying: “It’s not his usual meddlesome nature. Now I don’t know what to do because he’s been unconscious for almost half a month. The father even told me not to interfere, saying that woman would handle it.”
That woman refers to Ryougi Shiki.
Fujino feels more conflicted about Ryougi Shiki, as if they were destined for conflict.
“You and me are the same kind…” … The cold look in that woman’s eyes seems to pierce through her true nature.
