Chapter 80 Assassination Book Reboot
Two girls, jumping with anger, were dragged away by Fujino. Only Kuzuki remained.
After checking the progress of their training, he went alone to the depths of the forest.
The top of a mountain.
A building was hidden behind dense forests. Even looking down from above, it was hard to see the surrounding buildings clearly.
Passing under an ancient tree, Kuzuki stood still for a moment, deep in thought.
He thought he saw something strange moving in the forest earlier.
A creature with butterfly-like wings and a golden, transparent body. It looked like a person but had four limbs, each as small as a palm. Its shape resembled the legendary fairy of folklore.
However, according to Touko Aozaki’s Magecraft knowledge, fairies are not tangible beings; they are abstract concepts perceived through touch rather than sight.
This creature also has an ability that allows it to be seen only by those with Mystic Eyes.
[It isn’t a fairy but some kind of imposter. Who is controlling it? Could it be Kurogiri Satsuki? I still can’t figure out his intentions. If it were him, could he have been the one behind what happened when I first came to school?]
Having lost track of the fairy, Kuzuki walked away casually before heading back.
[No, Satsuki arrived at the school after me. The incident that happened when you first came couldn’t have been his. Who was it then?]
He noted this in his mind and returned to his usual hidden training spot, dismissing his thoughts as he began to focus on practicing Hokuto Shinken (Fist of the North Star).
Kuzuki is a seasoned martial artist skilled in fist techniques. His body has been honed through countless trials, and his potential is almost fully realized.
Compared to the fundamental Tenshou Breathing and Walking Technique (Karate), he only took a month to master it before beginning to train in the advanced breathing technique—Dragon’s Breath. This technique channels external energy to enhance his high-level breathing techniques.
In the Tsukihime universe, there are “Great Source” and “Small Source.” The Great Source refers to external Mana, while the Small Source refers to one’s own Mana. During the ancient era, Magi often drew on the power of the Great Source to perform Magecraft, which could be considered true magic. However, in modern times, drawing on the Great Source has become difficult, and most Magi rely solely on their own Small Source.
Yet, how can one’s own Mana compare to the power of the heavens and earth? Therefore, modern Magi are far less powerful than those from ancient times.
As Kuzuki chanted Dragon’s Breath, he felt that the Vital Energy of Heaven and Earth seemed to have a will of their own. Drawing on or borrowing it was extremely taxing. (“Great Source” and “Heaven and Earth Vital Energy” refer to the same concept.)
“The Vital Energy of Heaven and Earth is controlled; it’s Gaia’s power···” Before this, Kuzuki felt a massive amount of Mana surging within him. Half of it came from the Great Rejuvenation Pill he had taken earlier, while the other half was derived from his own vigorous life force, which he had been accumulating one drop at a time.
Now that he’s tapped into Great Source’s power, he feels something is off.
While the Heaven and Earth Vital Energy isn’t particularly scarce in the outside world, it’s still difficult to harness and utilize.
The Dragon Roar technique is hard to activate external qi, let alone absorbing it.
This is Gaia’s malice towards humanity.
After realizing this, Kuzuki stops using the Dragon Roar technique and quietly switches to the Dragon Breath technique. From what he can see now, the Dragon Breath technique still has a higher efficiency rate.
Having absorbed a world with higher-level mystery only makes the mystery dissipate more, creating a contradictory and strange world.
Kuzuki relaxes his mind and stomach, allowing his belly to rise and fall with each breath. His breathing is long and sustained, changing every half minute.
With each breath he takes, the surrounding air seems to be sucked into an invisible void, leaving a circle of empty space around him within a 10-meter radius.
Gasp!
The lack of air is suddenly filled by the vacuum’s recoil, emitting a faint muffled sound. Kuzuki then suddenly opens his mouth and lets out a belch!
A white mist like a laser shoots out from his mouth, traveling 10 meters before hitting a tree trunk with a “pop” sound, creating a small hole in the trunk.
He points one palm towards the stone block ahead of him. The bottom of the stone block suddenly emits a whirlwind, lifting it into his hand.
With a slight effort, he crushes the stone block into powder.
The stone dust falls from his fingertips as Kuzuki exhales and steadies his breath.
Northern Fist Technique.
A technique inherited by the Hokuto Sun family, allowing one to use their own qi to control the surrounding air and create various effects. The technique he recently used was a variation of this skill,
creating localized vacuums that can make people feel dizzy or unconscious, producing breath swords that kill in 10 steps, or even creating whirlwinds to blow away arrows or skewer bullets, effectively acting as an avoidance and protective shield.
This technique is one of the more challenging ones from Hokuto Shinken (Fist of the North Star), requiring a high level of control over qi.
“I’ve pretty much mastered the fundamental techniques of Hokuto Shinken (Fist of the North Star). It’s time to try out some Secret Technique training now.”
Hokuto Shinken (Fist of the North Star) has a vast array of techniques, so training every single one would take an enormous amount of time. Therefore, Kuzuki chooses to practice only some of them, discarding those with overlapping attributes and focusing on useful, unique ones.
The Northern Star Secret Technique isn’t something you can just train yourself to master; it requires enlightenment. Despite having a complete set of Inheritance, Kuzuki knows there’s a significant difference between using the technique genuinely and faking it.
However, as another world’s strongest Assassin’s Fist, the Northern Star Secret Technique is so devastating that hitting a human with it feels like an instant kill. Even when fighting against an illusion of air, it’s nowhere near as real as battling a genuine person.
Kuzuki is somewhat cold and detached. He doesn’t care about things he can’t see, no matter how dire the situation might be. If something isn’t connected to him, he rarely takes an interest in it. So, he wouldn’t go out of his way to hunt down evil individuals. Consequently, he also wouldn’t use Hokuto Shinken (Fist of the North Star)’s Secret Technique to fight against people. He’d have to take it slow and methodical, one step at a time, to truly understand and master it.
Back in his dorm room, Kuzuki quickly washes up and climbs back into bed to rest.
After falling asleep…
The next moment, he wakes up inside the Assassination Book’s Space.
“···When [Dark Flower (Secret Mission)] is completed three times or you have over 100,000 Assassination Points, [Complete Mastery of the Assassin Fist’s Secrets] will evolve and this information will automatically appear in your mind……”
“···They are no longer anything we can comprehend, but what we do know is that if no one stands in their way, the Multiverse will face its end. For this reason, we have created over a hundred [Book of Inheritance] to give future generations enough power……”
“···This is every Inheritor’s mission……to surpass us and then kill them……”
“···There’s no escaping it. Erase all variables, and they will continue to evolve endlessly if you don’t want to die!”
