Chapter 91 After the Shaolin Temple is Destroyed
A massive army was slowly climbing the mountain, from the steps to the gate of the temple and the red lanterns and ritual implements, with various martial artists and guards, as well as musicians blowing and drumming, forming a long line. The crowd couldn’t see the end of it; it was truly awe-inspiring.
Ding Chunqiu was the best-looking person here, with an extremely high status in Xingxiu Sect, where half of its members were just there to make up the numbers.
However, there were too many people. It would take at least half an hour for everyone to enter the arena. Ding Chunqiu couldn’t wait that long and decided to fly down from the sky and land in the square.
Ye Haochen felt ashamed and said, “Disciple is useless; the scheme has only achieved half of its goal.”
Ding Chunqiu spread his cloak wide and lifted Ye Haochen. He said, “If you can gather all these people together, then the scheme will be considered successful.”
He turned to look at everyone else and roared, “Follow me, and we’ll prosper; oppose me, and we’ll die! Who dares defy me? I’ll kill them myself. Lay down your weapons now and submit to me, and I will spare your lives!”
Everyone exchanged glances in silence, too intimidated to speak. The disciples of the Old Freak of Xingxiu were already so powerful; how could the Old Freak himself be any less impressive? And besides, there were more people from Xingxiu Sect here than those present.
As more members of Xingxiu Sect arrived, many began to regret their decision and even retreated.
At this point, a monk from the Shaolin Temple suddenly burst out from the crowd.
He was a thick-browed, brown-eyed man in his forties, holding a staff that reached his eyebrows. He jumped into the arena.
“The Buddhist faith is pure and serene; you cannot allow these demons and monsters to run wild here!” His words were followed by seventeen shadowy figures jumping out behind him, each holding a long staff and standing beside the monk.
The Shaolin Eighteen Arhat Formation!
The eighteen monks formed a compact group, spinning like flowers in full bloom and charging toward Ding Chunqiu as one cohesive unit.
Three more shadowy figures appeared out of nowhere, with the Old Immortal of Xingxiu (Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils) sitting down. Among them were A Qing, Li Qiang, and Gu Dao, while Xu Zhu and A’zi remained absent.
A Qing, holding a long sword, and Li Qiang, carrying a pair of odd tools from the Qi Men Gate, led the three men into the fray!
The Shaolin Eighteen Arhat Formation fought with equal determination and intensity.
The arena was filled with flickering shadows and chaotic movements. The sounds of clashing weapons echoed across the sky.
Ye Haochen saw that the three men were struggling to break through, even at a slight disadvantage, and decided to lend them a hand.
However, the Eagle King, Northern Void Swordsman, along with several dozen martial arts experts, formed a solid barrier in front of him, making it seem as though he was facing an unstoppable force.
The battlefield was divided into three sections. A Qing and Gu Dao fought the Shaolin Eighteen Arhat Formation together, while the Eagle King and Northern Void Swordsman, along with ten or so martial arts experts, blocked Ye Haochen. Meanwhile, tens of thousands of Martial World People held their ground outside to block Xingxiu Sect’s forces.
Only Ding Chunqiu and the monk Xuankuo stood facing each other.
Ding Chunqiu sneered and said, “Rubbish. The old monk, from now on, I’ll rename Shaolin to Star Host Shaolin Division! All the incense sticks are mine. I don’t care about anything else!”
Xuankuo coldly asked, “Did you finish your nonsense?”
“Are you brave enough to fight me?” Ding Chunqiu’s eyes showed an intent to kill.
“This old body hasn’t moved for a long time. It’s about time I moved!”Xuankuo slowly formed his hands and released a series of pops in his body.
Ding Chunqiu said with a smirk, “Alright, I’ll break your bones!”
Xuankuo didn’t care about that and retorted, “That’s a great merit. It won’t matter if it gets wet.”
“I will fulfill your wish!”Ding Chunqiu activated the Energy-Draining TechniqueInternal Energy, and his body slowly floated into the air. His hair was all disheveled, his face was red, and white mist rose from his body, clearly showing that his power had reached its peak.
“Ten Thousand Buddhas Paying Homage!””Energy-Draining Technique!”
Xuankuo suddenly released a bright light, his body like the sun, making it impossible to look directly at him. He pushed out a column of light with both hands aimed at Ding Chunqiu.
But Ding Chunqiu wasn’t willing to show weakness and accumulated the Energy-Draining TechniqueInternal Energy and blasted it out, like an azure dragon emerging from the sea, instantly colliding with Xuankuo’s palm strike.
Boom!
A muffled thunderous explosion echoed in mid-air, causing a massive earthquake. The shockwave spread unilaterally from the center outward, and people immediately fell to their knees, collapsing one group after another.
Ding Chunqiu was hit by the residual force and slid back several meters, blood dripping from his mouth.
After regaining his footing, Ding Chunqiu waved his sleeve and said, “Mr. Liu, you’re really tough. I didn’t expect to lose to your move!” He then laughed loudly, “But you’ve been hit by my Energy-Draining TechniqueInternal Energy! You even lost your life!”
Xuankuo stood firm and did not retreat. He folded his hands and sat down cross-legged, lowering his head and gasping for breath as he died.
“Mr. Liu!”
Several monks from behind, their faces filled with sorrow, rushed to Xuankuo’s side and cried out.
Far away, hidden in the shadow of a building, after the effect of the Kill-Life Acupuncture Point passed, Liu Chengshuang was growling in pain. He grabbed Kuzuki’s sleeve and said, “Brother Ge, even the Shaolin Temple monk isn’t strong enough to fight against Xingxiu’s Old Freak, so I think we have no choice but to surrender.”
Kuzuki didn’t acknowledge him and was deeply engrossed in mental calculations… At this point, stealing a sneak attack on Ding Chunqiu would give him an edge.
Only three percent.
Because Ding Chunqiu hasn’t shown his capabilities yet, the fewer enemies we understand, the lower our chances of winning will be.
Just like how he did in Quanzhen Sect, killing the highest-ranking Martial Arts expert and letting the rest be dealt with by his subordinates.
The morale of those present is low; they aren’t Xingxiu Sect’s opponents. Moreover, Ding Chunqiu is right there—killing him won’t work, everything else is useless.
Even the Shaolin Temple abbot has died, and Eagle King and Northern Void Swordsman don’t care about fighting anymore. They join forces to push back Ye Haochen, then expand their stance, fly out from mid-air, and try to escape.
But the Old Immortal of Xingxiu (Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils) is nearby; he won’t allow them to get away. He pushes both with a wave of his hands, shooting out two white lights that instantly reduce them to dust.
Then Kuzuki suddenly says: “Liu Brother, this battle will certainly destroy Shaolin Temple. You should go to the Scripture Library Pavilion and find The Classic of Changing Tendons to prevent it from being lost; maybe you can train a top-tier Martial Arts technique and become famous.”
“Huh, Brother Ge’s tone sounds like he wants to go.” Liu Chengshuang isn’t sure if he’s serious or just pretending. He doesn’t say anything nice.
“This place will be very dangerous soon; you should leave quickly. I won’t say anything else.”
Seeing that Kuzuki seems intent on challenging Ding Chunqiu, Liu Chengshuang panics and runs away, heading towards the back of Shaolin Temple.
By the time Liu Chengshuang disappears, Kuzuki calculates everything again in his mind.
[If we let Ding Chunqiu Cultivate Immortality, how would we kill him? He’s a True Immortal with a Primordial Spirit rebirth; physical attacks won’t work. We should kill him before he completes his cultivation. This is the perfect time to test Dark Flower (Secret Mission)MissionFailure as well.]
At this moment, Ding Chunqiu has just fought the Shaolin Temple abbot and was injured—this is the perfect time to kill him. After this battle, we’ll have to wait until he reaches Miaoyao Peak and faces off against Su Xinghe.
Thinking about this, Kuzuki can’t take it anymore. The Hokuto Battle Aura begins to permeate his entire body.
“What the hell!” Ding Chunqiu suddenly looks in Kuzuki’s direction, with a twisted expression on his face.
[In all of heaven and earth, only Su Xinghe and my few immortal elders pose a threat to me. When will another Martial Arts expert appear?]
